Awaken Your Body With These 8 Simple Moves You wake up to the alarm blasting in your ear, you scramble to turn it off and jump right out of bed to start the day. Doesn’t sound fun, right? Give yourself 10 extra minutes in the morning and slowly enter the day. Take time to awaken the body, mind and soul. Find your purpose for the day, come to your breath and send positive energy throughout your body. This routine wont make you sweat (sweating in bed is kind of gross anyways) but it will allow the muscles to become lightly warm and fully stretched. A perfect kick off to any day!

Full Body Stretch 1A, 1B

Start by making you body long, bringing arms overhead and pointing toes. Focus on keeping your back flat on the bed and slowly breath in through your nose. Hold for 5 seconds, then release contracting your naval to your spine when exhaling through your mouth. Repeat this 5x.

Knee Drops 2A

2B, 2C

Lying on your back, bring knees up over your body so your shins are parallel to the floor, flexing feet. Next bring your arms in a T position. When you inhale drop your knees over to the left and hold a light spinal twist for 5 seconds. With your exhale use your core to bring your knee’s back to center. Do the same sequence on the right side. Repeat this 3x.

Flat Back Bicycle Crunch 3A, 3B

Start by lying on your back, bring knees up over the body so shins are parallel to floor. Keeping toes pointed and naval pulled to spin, begin pedaling legs starting with the right leg. Keep the extended leg about 3 inches from the bed, hover for 5 seconds and then switch legs. Try to match your movement to your breath to really light a fire to your core. Repeat this pedaling sequence 10x on each leg.

Bridge 4A

Lay on your back with your knees bent, feet hip-distance apart and flat on the bed. Reach down with your fingertips to see if you can touch your heels. If not, walk your heels a little closer to your body.

Press your bodyweight into your feet to lift your hips towards the ceiling. Keep your thighs parallel. Remember to breathe with your movement.

To make this movement more advanced, bring your arms underneath you and try to clasp your hands together. Roll your shoulder blades toward each other and hold this pose for 20 seconds. Release and roll slowly back to the bed. Repeat 3x.


Cat Cow Pose 5A

Start in a tabletop position placing your hands directly underneath your shoulders and your knees directly under your hips, keeping your shins and knees hip-width apart. Center your head in a neutral position and gaze forward.

Begin by moving into your Cow Pose. You want to inhale as you drop your belly towards the bed. Lift you chin and chest, and gaze up toward the ceiling. Keep your shoulder blades broad and draw your shoulders away from you ear.

Next move into Cat Pose. While exhaling draw your belly to your spine and round your back towards the ceiling. The pose should look like a cat stretching its back. Release the crown toward the bed, but don’t force your chin to your chest. With your inhale come back into Cow Pose, then exhale back into Cat Pose. Repeat 5x.

Table Balancing Pose 6A, 6B

Start in a tabletop position placing your hands directly underneath your shoulders and your knees directly under your hips, keeping your shins and knees hip-width apart. Center your head in a neutral position and gaze forward. With your exhale slowly extend your left leg and then your right arm. Make sure your arm is in line with your ear and you leg is out straight. Hold this balancing posture for 5 full, slow breaths. Release your leg and arm back to tabletop position. Repeat this full sequence on the opposite side.

Down Dog to Plank 7A

Starting in a tabletop position, curl your toes under and push back, raising your hips and the straightening the legs. Spread your fingers and ground down from the forearm into the fingertips. Outwardly rotate the upper arms broadening the collarbones. Let your head hang and engage your quadriceps strongly so you come into a resting Down Dog Pose.

Before you move into plank position, check the distance between your hands and feet, if you jumped forward you should have enough space to jump between your hands. Slowly slide your body forward into a high plank and hold for 10 seconds. With your exhale push back into a Down Dog. Repeat 10x

Wide Child’s Pose 8

Moving back to your tabletop position, widen you hips so they are wider than your arms when they are stacked under your shoulders. With your exhale, push the back of your body to your heels and let your chest rest on the bed. Bring your arms out in front of you and comfortably let them rest on the forearm. Let your eyes close and slowly come back to your breath. Hold this final posture for 2 minutes before you enter the day. Namaste.

Quiche 8 Farm Fresh Eggs 1/2 cup of Organic Whole Milk 1/2 cup Swiss Chard, chopped 1/2 carrot, sliced 3 oz goat cheddar cheese 1/2 sweet yellow onion, sliced 4 cloves garlic 1 tsp Cape Cod Saltworks or Sea Salt 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced 1 tsp coconut oil

Preheat oven to 400. Place eggs and milk in a tall casserole dish or mixing bowl and whisk until yolks are dispersed evenly. Saute onions in a frying pan with coconut oil and place to the side. Add chard, carrot, cheese, onion, garlic, mushrooms and salt. Bake for 30 -45 minutes or until egg is fully cooked.


Strawberry Kale Salad

Dressing

3 cups Dinosaur or Italian Kale 1/2 cup Pea Greens 1/4 cup Sunflower Seeds 1/4 cup Great Hill Blue Cheese 1/2 cup Strawberries, sliced 1/2 cup Mushrooms, sliced 3/4 cup water

1/4 cup Grapeseed OIl 1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar 3 TB Maple Syrup 1 tsp Orange Zest Juice of 2 clementines or 1 orange

Place kale into large frying pan and add water. Cover and blanch for about 5 minutes until color is vibrant and drain. Place kale into a medium to large salad bowl and set in refrigerator for 15 minutes. Top with pea greens, sunflower seeds, blue cheese, strawberries, and mushrooms. Be creative with assembling your salad.

Place all ingredients into a mason jar or saved peanut butter jar. Cover and seal lid. Shake until ingredients are mixed well. Note: Poke holes on top of lid for an easier way to drizzle dressing.


Crispy Tempeh & Hummus Rolls 1/4 Tempeh package, sliced thin 2 TB Betty’s Superfood Bean Hummus or any Hummus 1/4 cup Alfalfa or Broccoli sprouts 1 Joseph’s Brand Flatbread 2 leaves Dinosaur or Italian Kale, whole with stems removed 1/8 cup pea greens 3 TB Toasted Sesame Seed Oil

Coat frying pan with oil and place tempeh slices flat on one side over medium heat for 5 minutes. Flip tempeh to opposite side and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove tempeh from pan and set to the side. Lay flatbread down and spread hummus on 1/2 side. Arrange tempeh over hummus in rows and place kale leaves in between. Sprinkle pea greens and sprouts. Firmly, roll the flatbread from one end to the other, allowing ingredients to fall in between flatbread. Slice into 2” rolls and serve.

Naughty but Nice, a Delicious Guilt Free Treat

No bake cookies doesn’t necessarily mean no mess. For everyone who likes to get their hands in the cookie dough this is a hands on recipe so jump right in . Simple ingredients are the secret to these delicious treats. Smooth dark chocolate, finely shredded coconut and ground oats for a fun texture, dried cranberries and slivered almonds for a rich vibrant flavor and a bit of nut butter and coconut syrup or honey for a naturally decadent sweet.

No-Bake Cookies 16 oz chocolate 60% cacao or higher 3 cups shredded unsweetened coconut 2 cups crushed or quick oats 1 cup dried cranberries 2 1/2 cups slivered almonds 1/4 cup natural peanut butter or other nut butter 2 tablespoons coconut oil 2 tablespoons coconut syrup or honey

Melt chocolate, coconut syrup, coconut oil and nut butter together in a pan or double boiler just until melted. Be careful not to cook the mixture. Mix together dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Pour warm chocolate mixture over dry ingredients and mix together with a fork until all ingredients are evenly coated with chocolate. Let stand and cool for 10 minutes. Form cookies balls by pressing the ingredients together in the palms of your hands and carefully forming a round ball. Place on wax paper lined cookie sheet and allow to solidify in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving. Makes 24 Cookies.

An Emotional Freedom Technique exercise with a twist of Angelic Sunshine. Use this process to assist in your healing by invoking the seven archangels and channelling their energy into each of the seven main points on the face and body. Find somewhere quiet and comfortable where you will not be disturbed. Make the space sacred by lighting a candle or some incense. You may wish to set an intention for the healing or you may choose to simply surrender to the process. Use it daily and feel the beautiful and joyful vibration of the angels fill your energy body.

Step 1 - Relax into your body and take some gentle full breaths. Tap the karate chop point continuously and say out loud three times: “I call upon the angelic realm to assist me in my healing process. Please support and guide me in whatever healing I need right now, whether physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. I consciously choose to heal and set myself free.” Keeping your fingers on this point, take in a gentle and full breath. Step 2 - Now tap gently with two fingers on the inside eyebrow point and say out loud: “I invoke the mighty Jophiel, beauty of God. Fill me with your yellow/gold ray and enable me to connect to my higher self, my intuition and my inner wisdom. Free me of my dependencies and illuminate my mind. Thank you.”


Keep you fingers on this spot and take a gentle and full breath. Step 3 - Next locate the spot on the outside eyebrow, on the bone near your temple. Tap gently and say out loud: “I invoke the mighty Zadkiel, righteousness of God. Fill me with your violet ray of forgiveness, compassion and mercy. Support me to free myself from negativity and limitation, and pave the way for forgiveness of others and for myself. Thank you.” Keeping your fingers on this point, breathe in and out. Step 4 - Now find the spot under you eye, on the bone, tap gently and say: “I now invoke the mighty Michael, who is like God. Fill me with your blue ray of protection. Please cut the cords of fear and illusion and give me the courage and strength to live my truth. Thank you.” Keeping your fingers on this spot, breathe in and out. Step 5 - Find the spot under your nose, tap gently and say: “I now invoke the mighty Raphael, angel of healing. Fill me with your green healing ray and activate my own self-healing mechanism. Thank you.” Keeping your fingers on this spot, breathe in and out. Step 6 - Next tap under your bottom lip and say out loud:

“I now invoke the mighty Uriel, fire of God. Fill me with the gentle peace of your purple/gold and ruby ray. I ask for peace for myself and humanity. Thank you.” Keeping your fingers on this spot, breathe in and out. Step 7 - Now move to your collar bone point, gently pat with an open hand and say: “I invoke the mighty Chamuel, angel of love and he who sees God. Fill me with your pink ray reaching into all the places where love and acceptance are needed. Fill me with love. Thank you.” Keeping your hand here, breathe in and out. Step 8 - Now move your open hand to the side of your body just below the underarm and pat gently whilst saying: “I now invoke the mighty Gabriel, angel of harmony and beauty. I call on your pure white light for guidance to understand my life’s plan. Help me to draw the people and situations needed to enable me to reach my divine potential. Thank you.” Keeping your hand here, breathe in and out. Step 9 - Now sit quietly for a few minutes with your eyes closed, breathing slowly and gently, in and out. Notice the quality of your inner being. Thank the angels for the healing that you have received and for the joy and upliftment they have brought you. Give them a big joyful smile and enjoy your day.
