Andrea Friedman T 206 Reflection Project 1 As a middle school student, I was always coming home and writing the first half of multiple random stories; this was something I loved to do. However, as the years passed, assignments became far less creative and more time consuming, so I had to give up my love of writing. This first project excited me, but I realized it would be far more challenging seeing as though my 12‐year‐old imagination had dwindled thanks to scantron testing and busy work. I worked through many ideas, involving a billionaires who gets captured for ransom, or basing it around a girl who’s lover goes to war (thank you Nicholas Sparks for stealing that one), and even my initial idea of a Meerkat and a Rat who are neighbors. After all these proved unsuccessful, I began thinking about what interests me; fashion. Stemming somewhat from The Devil Wears Prada, I decided to write about a modeling company based in New York City. The inspiration behind my idea also came from my best friend, who works for a modeling agency in Israel. I want it to be a PrimeTIme drama, as opposed to a film, so the story line can progress at a steady pace as opposed to it being crunched into a two hour feature. I knew I wanted to incorporate some kind of scandal, so I chose the topic of homosexuality because it is so current in the news today, and I know many people will be able to relate to the characters. Also, by giving the main character a “hard‐ass” demeanor, but allowing the audience to see her soft side, hopefully they will feel sorry for her. In the end, I am pleased with my script; I just hope it comes across as a success.
