Stylish Reinventions The month à la mode
Taiwanese actress Shu Qi, known as the Angelina Jolie of the East, has emerged as the new face of Emporio Armani in Singapore, Malaysia and the greater China area for autumn/ winter 2010. The mysterious Asian beauty of the star-studded movie New York, I Love You, with her porcelain skin and striking features, cuts a classy silhouette. Likewise for Emporio Armani. Shot in New York by worldrenowned photographer Mario Sorrenti, the brand’s first advertising campaign with Shu Qi is set amid concrete, asphalt and billows of smoke. Making full use of the red-hot actress’s sultry eyes and smouldering looks, Emporio Armani’s latest collection draws on romanticism and fierce minimalism. Irresistible.
Forty years after the Roberto Cavalli brand was born, it has gained respect from the fashion industry and renown among millions. To celebrate its milestone anniversary, a 200-page book – Roberto Cavalli – recounts the designer’s history from the outset to the present. The visionary impacted the fashion world with his modern take on prints and leather, all lavishly documented in photographs throughout the volume. With creative direction by Fabien Baron, the book showcases the brand’s timeline through the faces of models and celebrities who have served as Cavalli’s muses, including Jennifer Lopez, Cindy Crawford, Heidi Klum and Gisele Bündchen. 098 – Prestige – september 2010
