Andrássy út and Városliget

This is a copy of the original, which was built by Miklós Ybl and Leó Feszler in 1893 and destroyed in World War Two. Originally it decorated Kálvin tér, but when the square was recreated, the statue was also re-located.

Walk FOUR

This walk took me seven hours without visiting the Museum of Fine Arts or the Műcsarnok.

This amazing photo was taken for a daily paper in 1947 by Tibor Bass (1909 – 1973). Cows are passing the former National Theatre at Blaha Lujza tér on their way to the slaughterhouse. It is not clear whether they came from the Great Plain or only from Keleti pályaudvar (Eastern Railway Station). Anyway, shortage of wagons and lorries were serious.
