INTRODUCTION CHARLIE LIVERTON CHIEF EXECUTIVE RACEHORSE OWNERS ASSOCIATION The Racecourse Badge Scheme for Owners remains one of the primary reasons owners join, and remain with, the Racehorse Owners Association. We are therefore delighted that the scheme will allow members access to even more day’s racing this year – recognising the valuable contribution made by you to this wonderful sport. We would like to thank the Racecourse Association and all racecourses for their continued support of the scheme which this year boasts a highest-ever 94% of the fixture list, with forty racecourses including all fixtures. In more good news, the number of racecourses offering two badges to participating fixtures has increased from 14 to 16. The racecourses offering two badges this year will be Ascot, Bangor, Brighton, Cheltenham, Epsom, Fontwell, Hamilton, Kempton, Musselburgh, Newbury, Newmarket, Newton Abbot, Pontefract, Sandown, Taunton and Warwick. There are also three racecourses offering two badges to some participating fixtures and these are Exeter, Haydock and Ripon. We hope that we get to meet you on-course at an ROA member event this year, why not come along to one of our new monthly Regional Jackpot Racedays, being held at racecourses across the UK with a focus on Gold Standard courses? These racedays will be promoted to members as regional events and are an evolution of the ROA Jackpot scheme, designed to focus primarily on grassroots racing and the enjoyment of the racing experience. Invitations to these regional events will be sent to members who live nearby. The days will involve sponsorship of races, hospitality for ROA members, the development of the Regional Roadshow format, promotion of and engagement with ROA members. Each day’s racing will feature an ROA Jackpot Race which will offer the following to qualified runners: a £2,000 bonus to the winner, travel expenses, yard bonus, breeders bonus and winners’ rug. Further details of these and all our other events can be found at www.roa.co.uk/events

We believe this opportunity to lease directly from the stud farm, and be involved in the exciting prospects that they house, provides a proven and successful formula. Shareholders are able to share in the success and excitement of a race day, paddock experience and other social events... before they are returned to the paddocks where they are raised. The beauty of leasing the horses is that for you the shareholder, there is no risk that successful horses might be sold whilst there is still fun to be had. Any prize money will be shared with the shareholders relevant to the amount of shares you have.

STRAWBERRY FIELDS STUD Strawberry Fields Stud has been breeding successfully for nearly ten years from its stud in Teversham and its second more recently acquired stud in Exning, near Newmarket.

We offer the opportunity for syndicate shares, starting at 5%, in our homebred colts and fillies: this provides the owner with two O/T badges each time the horse runs as well as regular stable visits to see their horse in training at a prestigious yard. We also offer the chance to visit the mares and foals at the studs to see the horses of the future.

NUMBER OF HORSES IN TRAINING: 9

TRAINERS USED: Mark Johnston, Sir Mark Prescott, John Oxx, Ben Pauling, Robert Cowell, Chris Wall, Rae Guest & Nick Littmoden. HOW SHARES ARE SOLD: Per horse MAXIMUM NUMBER OF SHARES PER HORSE: 12 PRICE OF TYPICAL SHARE: Per 5%, £1000 to £3000, £120 per month training fees.

As a stud, we believe that both communication and interaction is a crucial part of the experience, so we provide regular updates on the horses. Our intention at Strawberry Fields Stud is to breed black type horses; to show confidence in our bloodstock we not only retain 25% in each horse but we also offer a money-back guarantee to our syndicate owners. If a horse does not win during the term of the syndicate, whether this is due to injury or ability, we will give a full refund on the price of the share. Something the Tall Trees teams are very proud of is their ability to turn a horse’s form around; they have a brilliant record of taking in horses that have lost their way badly and win within the first run or two. Brian and Daisy feel this is down to their dedicated team, top class, modern facilities and the complete individual attention every horse receives. It doesn’t matter whether the horse has never won a race or is a horse of very high quality, they are all treated for themselves and everything is done to make sure they are as happy and healthy as possible. Racehorses can be unpredictable. As a member, you’re covered. As an owner or part-owner of a racehorse, if it causes injury or damage you could be held liable. So it’s reassuring to know members receive automatic, third-party liability insurance cover (up to a limit of liability of £10 million) against potential damages.
