19 Eclipse Awards, including a record 8 for Outstanding Breeder Over 300 stakes winners 3 Broodmares of the Year

Adena Springs Founder Frank Stronach

Welcome to Adena Springs

D

ear Breeder,

Adena Springs’ racing and breeding operation has become one of the winningest and most awarded in history, having bred and/ or owned over 300 stakes winners. Adena Springs has been honored with a total of 21 Sovereign Awards for Outstanding Breeder and Owner; has bred eight Sovereign Award Champions, five additional Eclipse Award Champions and has earned a combined 12 Eclipse Awards for Outstanding Breeder and Owner. Adena Springs has bred six Breeders’ Cup Champions—no operation has more—and Adena Springs-breds have earned over $10 million in Breeders’ Cup purses, another record. For his lifetime service to the Thoroughbred industry, Frank Stronach has been bestowed with the Sovereign Award of Merit, Eclipse Award of Merit and the prestigious Dinny Phipps Award from the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. Frank’s approach to success in the Thoroughbred industry is best represented by our slogan: Classic Bloodlines, Classic Performance. Frank has always promoted diverse bloodlines within the Adena Springs breeding program, bloodlines that emphasize top-level performance as horses mature and compete at classic distances. The 2019 Adena Springs stallion roster exemplifies this philosophy. Five-time Grade 1 winner Point of Entry, a leading Second-Crop Sire, is a grandson of the great Roberto, an important Classic influence in every racing jurisdiction. Homebred Eclipse Champion Juvenile Macho Uno is Holy Bull’s best sire son. His Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1)-winning son Mucho Macho Man is now showing high promise with his first crop 2-year-olds of 2018. Another Breeders’ Cup Classic champion, Fort Larned, hails from perhaps Mr. Prospector’s fastest sire-line branch, while Capo Bastone, winner of the sire-making King’s Bishop S. (G1) is from Mr. Prospector’s top international branch, that of Machiavellian/Street Cry/Street Boss. Epsom Derby hero North Light (Ire) is the legendary Danehill’s top son currently standing in North America. And then, of course, there is homebred Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner Awesome Again, Deputy Minister’s most influential sire son and the only Breeders’ Cup Classic

champ to sire a Classic winner—homebred Horse of the Year and Hall of Famer Ghostzapper who is passing along his other-worldly ability standing alongside his sire at Adena Springs Kentucky. Now comes his homebred son, Shaman Ghost, winner of historic Grade 1s in New York and California, who will join his sire and grandsire at Adena Springs Kentucky for the 2019 season. Adena Springs North is home to Canada’s most important stallions. One third of the Canadian Classics run over the past five years have been won by Adena Springs-sired horses. The group includes three winners of the Queen’s Plate and a trio of Woodbine Oaks winners. Two-time Champion Sire Milwaukee Brew, a son of the first Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner Wild Again, is the only multiple winner of the historic Santa Anita H. (G1) ever to stand at stud. Silent Name (Jpn) is a son of the prodigious international stallion Sunday Silence and is poised to add the 2018 Champion Sire title to a burgeoning resume that already includes a pair of Juvenile Sire trophies. Homebred Giant Gizmo, a son of 3-time Champion Sire Giant’s Causeway, is the sire of a pair of Classic winners from his early crops. Sligo Bay is the sire of two of the past five Woodbine Oaks heroines and is the top son of the legendary Sadler’s Wells currently standing in North America. Signature Red, by the top international Storm Cat son Bernstein, joined the Adena Springs North roster in 2018 and ranks among the top young sires in Canada. Rookie Sensation, by Unbridled’s Song, hails from the sire line that’s dominated the American Classic scene in recent years with runners like Always Dreaming, American Pharoah and Arrogate. Homebred Hunters Bay is a Champion son of Ghostzapper. The speedy Grade 1 winner Silver Max promises to become the latest success from Canada’s own Vice Regent/Deputy Minister sire-line when his first runners hit the races in the spring of 2019. We invite you to inspect the stallions anytime. Please call (859) 987-1798 to schedule an appointment.

Awesome Again

M AT I N G A N A LY S I S

A

Devil His Due and GSW Golden Mystery is out of a mare by Saint Ballado, a full brother to Devil His Due’s sire, Devil’s Bag. Overall, Awesome Again has sired three graded winners and three other graded-placed runners out of mares carrying Halo. The Roberto offshoot of the Hail to Reason broodmare line has also paid dividends. GSW Awesomemundo is out of a mare by Shuailaan (by Roberto) and is one of Awesome Again’s four stakes winners out of Roberto granddaughters. Awesome Again has also sired stakes winners out of mares by Kris S., Lear Fan and Red Ransom.

wesome Again has shown a great affinity for mares carrying Relaunch and his sire, In Reality. A total of 27 Awesome Again stakes horses are out of mares showing In Reality within five generations. These include many of his very best runners. Horse of the Year & Hall of Famer Ghostzapper is out of a daughter of Relaunch while Preakness Stakes (G1) hero Oxbow and Haskell Inv. (G1) winner Paynter are out of mares by the Relaunch son Cee’s Tizzy. The 2018 G2W/G1SP Bravazo is also out of a Cee’s Tizzy dam. We find In Reality in the pedigree of Hollywood Gold Cup (G1) champion Awesome Gem through his damsire Pentelicus (by Fappiano out of an In Reality mare). The dams of Oxbow and Paynter are full sisters to Tiznow, making his daughters very interesting for Awesome Again.

Of the 41 Awesome Again stakes horses that carry a double of Northern Dancer, 10 are out of mares that show the influence of Nijinsky II. G1W Dubai Escapade and Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) heroine Round Pound both show Nijinsky II in their second dam lines as do the GSWs Anew and Tessa Blue.

Awesome Again has done good work with mares showing Seattle Slew, who we find in the second dam lines of both Paynter and Oxbow through Seattle Song. Seattle Song is also the second damsire of G2W Awesome Baby. Two other Awesome Again stars show this pattern, 8x G1W Game on Dude (second dam by the Seattle Slew on Fast Play) and millionaire MGSW/G1SP Awesome Slew (second dam by Seattle Slew).

Awesome Again’s first G1W, Toccet, is out of a mare by the Caro stallion Cozzene and he is among the 11 stakes horses that Awesome Again has sired out of Cozzene-influenced mares. This sample also includes G3W Ice Festival and MG2W Spelling Again, who is out of a mare by Cozzene’s son Alphabet Soup. Awesome Again has also sired a stakes winner out of a mare by Maria’s Mon, whose dam is by Caro. Interestingly, the reverse of this cross worked to great effect, producing G1W Awesome Maria. Retiring daughters of Maria’s Mon’s son Super Saver who is out of a mare by the Seattle Slew son A. P. Indy, are certainly interesting for Awesome Again.

Game on Dude is also an example of Awesome Again’s prowess with mares showing Hail to Reason, as he is one of 17 stakes winners and 28 stakes horses by Awesome Again out of mares carrying this influence. Game on Dude is out of a mare by the Halo grandson

Capo Bastone

C

opening the door for mares from the broodmare lines of other similarly-bred stallions like Pulpit, Malibu Moon, Congrats and Girolamo. The broader Street Cry/Seattle Slew cross has yielded at least 17 stakes winners, 10 of them graded winners. The second dam of Hargus, Capo Bastone’s impressive first winner, is by Mineshaft.

From just a handful of starters, both Street Boss and another Street Cry son, Street Sense, have sired SWs out of mares by the Storm Cat stallion Forest Wildcat. This cross has also proven effective for Capo Bastone as his best early runner, the multiple SP Starship Nala, is also out of a Forest Wildcat daughter.

Street Cry and his sons have done good work with Deputy Ministerline mares to the tune of 10 stakes winners, over half of them graded. Among the group are a pair of Street Cry stakes winners out of daughters of Awesome Again (2nd dam by Mr. Prospector) and another GSW out of a mare by Awesome Again’s son Ghostzapper. Street Boss’ Arkansas Derby (G1) winner Danza is out of a mare by another Deputy Minister son, French Deputy (with a second dam by the Mr. Prospector son Tank’s Prospect).

Overall, there are at least 19 stakes winners bred Street Cry over Storm Cat. Among the other damsires represented are Stormy Atlantic & Stormin Fever (both of whom are bred Storm Cat over Seattle Slew), Hennessy (sire of Johannesburg), Tale of the Cat, and Harlan (sire of Harlan’s Holiday and grandsire of Into Mischief).

Dixieland Band-line mares also deserve strong consideration for Capo Bastone. Street Cry sired Kentucky Derby (G1) hero Street Sense and a G3W out of daughters of Dixieland Band as well as Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) champ New Year’s Day out of a mare by Dixie Union. Dixie Union is also the damsire of a multiple stakes winner by Street Boss. Daughters of his son Union Rags (who shows both Seattle Slew and Mr. Prospector in his pedigree) should also be considered.

Four of Street Boss’ Grade 1 winners are out of mares returning Mr. Prospector and reinforcing this influence may also prove beneficial for Capo Bastone. Street Boss has sired stakes winners out of daughters of Mutakddim (by Seeking the Gold), Lemon Drop Kid (by Kingmambo), Not For Love and out of a granddaughter of Woodman.

The Street Boss Grade 1 winner Decked Out is out of a mare by the Roberto grandson You and I (by Kris S.). This is the same cross that produced the great Street Cry mare Zenyatta.

Street Boss’ Kentucky Oaks (G1) heroine Cathryn Sophia is out of a dam by Mineshaft, who is bred A. P. Indy over Mr. Prospector. The Street Boss GSW Hence is out of a mare bred on the same cross,

65

M AT I N G A N A LY S I S

apo Bastone is by multiple Grade 1 winner Street Boss, a son of the late sire-of-sires, Street Cry. With Mr. Prospector, Northern Dancer and Bold Ruler back in his fourth generation, Capo Bastone should work well with mares from all of North America’s most prominent broodmare lines.

Adena Springs Kentucky

Fort Larned

T

he speedy Mr. Prospector grandson Fort Larned has a pedigree free of Northern Dancer and Seattle Slew and should click well with mares from a wide variety of broodmare lines.

E Dubai and his sons have sired five stakes winners out of Storm Cat-line mares, three of them group/graded winners. The Storm Cat sons Bernstein and Pure Prize are among the damsires represented in the sample. Fort Larned should also go well with mares showing the more ubiquitous Storm Cat strains Giant’s Causeway, Harlan/Harlan’s Holiday/Into Mischief, Hennessy/Johannesburg/ Scat Daddy, Forestry/Shackleford, Tale of the Cat, Forest Wildcat and Stormy Atlantic.

M AT I N G A N A LY S I S

Danzig, Storm Cat, Dixieland Band, Sadler’s Wells and Nijinsky II hold particular appeal among Northern Dancer-line targets for Fort Larned. Fort Larned’s SW/Breeders’ Cup-placed Blonde Bomber is out of a mare by the Sadler’s Wells son El Prado. This cross worked for Fort Larned’s sire, E Dubai, as well. G2W My Gi Gi out of a mare by Sadler’s Wells and G1W Willy Dubai out of a Sadler’s Wells granddaughter. The Sadler’s Wells sire line is going strong in North America primarily through the El Prado sons Medaglia d’Oro, Kitten’s Joy and Artie Schiller. Medaglia d’Oro’s daughters and granddaughters are especially interesting as he is out of a Damascus-line mare. E Dubai has sired six stakes winners, including G2W High Heels, out of mares carrying the Damascus influence.

E Dubai has sired a G2W out of a Dixieland Band mare and a G3W out of a granddaughter of Dixieland Band. This makes mares by Dixieland Band-line stallions Dixie Union, Union Rags, Overanalyze and Gone Astray contenders for Fort Larned. Mr. Prospector over A. P. Indy has produced in excess of 130 stakes winners. Many of A. P. Indy’s good sire sons are out of Mr. Prospector mares (Malibu Moon, Pulpit, Mineshaft, Congrats, etc.) and E Dubai and sons have sired eight stakes winners out of mares that reinforce the Mr. Prospector influence. Two of those are out of mares that show Fappiano, including SW Fordubai out of a mare by Unbridled. This put mares from the Tapit and Bernardini offshoots in play for Fort Larned as both are bred A. P. Indy over Fappiano.

High Heels also shows Nijinsky II in her pedigree as do four additional stakes winners by E Dubai. E Dubai has sired stakes winners out of mares by five different Danzig-line stallions: Langfuhr, Pine Bluff, Redoute’s Choice, Dayjur and the Polish Precedent son Sekari. Like Dayjur & Sekari, War Front and Exchange Rate are bred on the Danzig/Mr. Prospector cross, making their daughters and granddaughters good candidates for Fort Larned. Redoute’s Choice is by Danzig’s top son Danehill, whose North American sons include North Light.

Fordubai is among the over 50 stakes winners bred on the Mr. Prospector/Unbridled cross. Over 20 of those are out of daughters of Unbridled’s Song and another trio are out of daughters of Grindstone making daughters of his son Birdstone interesting for Fort Larned. Another Unbridled son, Broken Vow (out of a Nijinsky II mare), is the broodmare sire of four more stakes winners in this sample.

Ghostzapper

A

Ghostzapper’s first two starters out of mares by the Roberto grandson Arch (by Kris S.) are graded winners – G1W Contested and G2W/G1SP Proctor’s Ledge (2nd dam by Mr. Prospector). Ghostzapper has had success with mares by other Roberto-line sires like Dynaformer (G1W Stately Victor & SW Lift Up), Silver Hawk (G3W La Cloche) and another Kris S. son, You and I (G2W Illiad).

round half of Ghostzapper’s stakes horses are out of mares showing Mr. Prospector within five generations. The Forty Niner, Seeking the Gold, Gone West, Two Punch and Fappiano branches have proven most effective so far.

SW Dak Attack is an example of Ghostzapper’s success with the Caro broodmare line. He’s out of a daughter of Indian Charlie, the sire of Uncle Mo, whose daughters are certainly interesting for Ghostzapper as he’s out of a mare by Arch. Ghostzapper has also sired GSW/millionaire Za Approval and GSW Mr Maybe out of daughters of the Caro son With Approval.

Seeking the Gold is found in the pedigrees of seven Ghostzapper stakes horses, including G1W Better Lucky, G2W/G1SP McCracken (dams by Seeking the Gold) and G1W Contested (second dam by Seeking the Gold).

Ghostzapper is out of a daughter of the In Reality son Relaunch and reinforcing these influences has yielded success. Champion/G1W Shaman Ghost shows a double of Relaunch at 3x5. The second dams of both G1W Stately Victor and G2W Hear the Ghost are by another In Reality son, Valid Appeal. G1W Contested also carries a double of In Reality through Believe It, sire of her third dam.

G3W Angel Terrace & SW Elghayoor are both out of daughters of Gone West and MGSW Gamble’s Ghost is out of a mare by Gone West’s full brother, Secret Claim. 2018 SW Enchanted Ghost is out of a mare by the Gone West son Grand Slam.

Holy Bull’s sire Great Above is bred on the reverse of the Intentionally/Rough n’ Tumble cross that produced In Reality. Breeders’ Cup/Eclipse Champion Judy the Beauty and Queen’s Plate winner/Sovereign Award Champion Holy Helena are among Ghostzapper’s 10 starters with Holy Bull mares (20%).

Champion Hunters Bay and his SW/millionaire full-sister are out of a mare by the Two Punch stallion Smoke Glacken, as is the 2018 G2SP Phantom Proton. With direct daughters Two Punch, Ghostzapper has sired SWs My Fiona and Grecian Maiden. Fappiano is found in the pedigree of eight stakes horses by Ghostzapper. G3W Pacific Ocean is out of a mare by Unbridled and MG1W Paulassilverlining is out of a mare by the Unbridled stallion Grindstone. The dam of 2018 GSW Runaway Ghost is by the Fappiano son Desert God.

Ghostzapper is the sire of six starters out of mares by Gilded Time. All are winners, including Shaman Ghost and G3W Whiskey Ticket.

From 20 starters out of Forty Niner granddaughters, Ghostzapper has sired six stakes winners (30%). Three of those are out of Distorted Humor mares – G1W Molly Morgan, G3W Gloryzapper and SW Ghostly Presence. Forty Niner is also found in the pedigree of 2018 SW/GSP Telekinesis (2nd dam by the Forty Niner son Gold Fever).

acho Uno has had very good success with mares carrying the influence of the Mr. Prospector son Two Punch. Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner Mucho Macho Man is out of a mare by the Two Punch stallion Ponche while the GSP runners Dia de Pago and Treble are out of Two Punch daughters.

2018 GSW Kirby’s Penny is out of a mare by the Forty Niner grandson Jules (by Peace Rules). The Forty Niner son Distorted Humor is the damsire of SW Hy Riverside and G3SP Banree. Distorted Humor is out of a mare by Danzig, an influence also found in G1W Wicked Style, G2W winner Potesta and SW Done Deal.

Ponche is bred Mr. Prospector over Nijinsky II. We find Nijinsky II in the pedigrees of 12 Macho Uno stakes horses and Mr. Prospector/ Nijinsky II combined in the dams of five of those, including G2W Overheard. The Fappiano grandson Broken Vow (by Unbridled) is bred Mr. Prospector/Nijinsky, making his daughters interesting for Macho Uno. The dams of Malibu Moon and Tapit are also bred on this cross as is Rubiano (by Fappiano), damsire of War Front.

Overall, 45% of Macho Uno’s stakes horses are out of mares that show Mr. Prospector in their pedigrees within five generations. Dams carrying Gone West have participated in this success producing runners like Saratoga SW Picco Uno (dam by Western Expression) and SW Hampstead Heath (dam by Gone West).

Nijinsky II and Storm Bird are bred similarly and we find the latter influence in the dams of eight Macho Uno stakes horses. Among those are GSW/millionaire Danon Legend and 2018 SW Revenant One out of Storm Cat daughters. SW Hy Riverside’s second dam by the Storm Cat son Hennessy and another 2018 SW, Done Deal, is out of a mare by Tale of the Cat (Storm Cat over Mr. Prospector).

Given that Macho Uno is a half-brother to Awesome Again (by Deputy Minister) it’s no surprise that he’s produced good results with Vice Regent/Deputy Minister-influenced mares. Vice Regent appears in a total of 15 stakes horses by Macho Uno, including MG1W winner Private Zone and MGSW/G1SP Tommy Macho. Tommy Macho is also an example of Macho Uno’s affinity with Seattle Slew, an influence found in 12 more of his stakes horses. Among these is G2W Macho Macho, SW Holy Reina (dam by Capote) and SW Picco Uno (second dam by Dixie Union who’s out of a Capote daughter).

Six Macho Uno stakes horses show Mr. Prospector through Fappiano, including SW/Sovereign Award finalist Decision Day (dam by Unbridled’s Song). Fappiano’s damsire is Dr. Fager, a half brother to Ta Wee, dam of Macho Uno’s grandsire Great Above. Linebreeding to their dam, Aspidistra, is also found in the pedigrees of Classic winner Harlem Rocker, G2W Mucho Mas Macho, G1SP Indulgence and six other Macho Uno stakes horses.

From just nine starters out of Wild Again mares, Macho Uno has sired G1W Macho Again and G3W Silsita. Wild Again is also the second damsire of GSW Kirby’s Penny.

stakes horses including SW Hy Riverside. Macho Uno has sired the additional graded stakes winners Wicked Style (G1W) and Potesta (G2W) out of mares showing Danzig.

A good number of Mucho Macho Man’s early winners are out of Storm Cat-line mares. Two of them, including $625,000 2-year-old & ‘TDN Rising Star’ Mucho Gusto, are out of mares by Storm Cat’s best sire son Giant’s Causeway. Macho Uno’s successes with Storm Cat includes GSW/millionaire Danon Legend and SW Revenant One out of Storm Cat daughters, SW Hy Riverside (2nd dam by the Storm Cat son Hennessy) and SW Done Deal are out of a mare by Tale of the Cat.

Mares from showing the Fappiano influence hold high promise for Mucho Macho Man. Fappiano’s damsire, Dr. Fager, is a half-brother to Ta Wee, dam of Mucho Macho Man’s great grandsire Great Above. Reinforcing their dam, Aspidistra, in the pedigree has been successful over the past few decades in American pedigrees and for Macho Uno in particular. We see this pattern in Macho Uno’s Classic winner Harlem Rocker, G2W Mucho Mas Macho and SW/Sovereign Award finalist Decision Day (dam by Unbridled’s Song), etc.

Mucho Macho Man’s SP Mucho Unusual is out of a mare by another Northern Dancer-line stallion Unusual Heat, a son of Nureyev. Mucho Macho Man’s dam is out of a mare by Nijinsky II, a close relative of Storm Cat’s sire Storm Bird. Reinforcing the Nijinsky II influence may prove beneficial as he’s found in the pedigrees of 12 Macho Uno stakes horses, including G2W Overheard. The Fappiano grandson Broken Vow (by Unbridled) is out of a mare by Nijinsky II, who’s also found in the pedigree of the dams of Malibu Moon, Tapit and Rubiano (by Fappiano), damsire of War Front.

The Macho Uno/Wild Again cross has yielded G1W Macho Again and G3W Silsita and one of Mucho Macho Man’s early six-figure yearlings is out of a mare by the Wild Again son Vicar. Given that Macho Uno is a half-brother to Awesome Again (by Deputy Minister) it would be prudent to consider Vice Regent/ Deputy Minister-line mares. Vice Regent appears in a total of 15 stakes horses by Macho Uno, including G1W winner Private Zone and MG3W/G1SP Tommy Macho.

Danzig is another promising Northern Dancer-line influence. From a small group of starters out of mares by the Forty Niner son Distorted Humor (dam by Danzig), Macho Uno has sired a pair of

Mucho Macho Man’s dam has produced two good ones by Tapit – SW Southern Girl and $2 million yearling/GSP Marconi – making his daughters and granddaughters intriguing. Seattle Slew-influenced mares are promising overall as SP Mucho Unusual’s 2nd dam is by the Seattle Slew son General Meeting. Macho Uno has also had good success with mares showing Seattle Slew (12 stakes horses).

Epsom Derby (G1) winner North Light is the top son of the all-time great sire and sire-of-sires Danehill standing in North America today.

stallions have sired stakes winners out of mares by the dual American Classic winner. SP Dreaming of Cara is out a mare by Quiet American, a son of Fappiano whose damsire is by Dr. Fager. We find Dr. Fager in three other stakes horses by North Light, including Bodua and G3W/G1placed Celtic New Year. The dam of G3W Go Forth North shows Dr. Fager in the pedigree of his second damsire Cure the Blues. Go Forth North is also out of a mare by Holy Bull, like Dr. Fager a maleline descendant of Rough’n Tumble. The Storm Cat son Forestry and his son Shackleford are other sources of Dr. Fager.

North Light has a pedigree free of Raise A Native/Mr. Prospector and he has done predictably well with mares from this line. In fact, North Light’s most accomplished runner so far, Arctic Cosmos, winner the historic St. Leger S. (G1), is out of a Mr. Prospector-line mare. The dam of the hero of the world’s oldest Classic is by the Mr. P. grandson Marquetry, a son of Conquistador Cielo. North Light has also sired SW Bodua out of a mare by the Mr. Prospector son Native Prospector. North Light’s stakeswinning full-brothers Centrefire and Charterhill are out of a mare by another Mr. Prospector stallion, Allen’s Prospect. The second dam of GSP Artic North is by Miswaki. Overall, Danehill and his sons have sired over 380 stakes winners out of Mr. Prospector-line mares. Distant View, Fappiano, Kingmambo, Woodman and Machiavellian are among the most prolific strains in the sample. Machiavellian is the top European descendant of Mr. Prospector and is represented in the North American stud book by the growing Street Cry sireline that includes Street Sense, Street Boss, Street Hero and New Year’s Day.

In Reality is out of a Rough’n Tumble mare and his influence also appears in the pedigree of Celtic New Year, as well as Centrefire/ Charterhill and G3W Chips All In. The second dams of both Celtic New Year and Chips All In are daughters of Valid Appeal. Celtic New Year is out of a mare by the Roberto son Dynaformer and SP Blessed One is out of a mare by the Roberto grandson Kissin Kris (by Kris S.). The Danzig-Roberto blend has been prolific over the years and mares that carry Roberto in their pedigrees should continue to be strongly considered for North Light. There now are over 600 stakes winners that combine Danzig on the top half of the pedigree and Roberto on the bottom side. A good number of those stakes winners are by Danehill and his sons.

Mares by Mr. Prospector’s grandson Thunder Gulch (by Gulch) are also promising targets for North Light. Ten different Danehill-line

by the Danzig son Belong to Me). There are now well over 400 global stakes winners showing Roberto on the top half of the pedigree and Danzig on the bottom side.

oint Of Entry is by the great Roberto son Dynaformer out of the terrific Seeking the Gold mare Matlacha Pass. His first four dams, going back to champion sprinter Gold Beauty, are all Grade 1 winners and/or Grade 1 producers. The pedigree of MGSW/MG1SP Analyze It highlights many of the ancestors that are clicking with Point of Entry so far. Analyze It is out of a mare by Consolidator, who’s by Storm Cat out of a Blushing Groom granddaughter. We also find Blushing Groom in the pedigrees of SW Glamanation and SP Admission Office. Glamanation is out of a mare by the Blushing Groom grandson Orientate (by Mt. Livermore) while the 3rd dam of Admission Office is a Blushing Groom daughter.

The second dam of Analyze It is by the Fappiano grandson Unbridled’s Song. Seeking the Gold and Fappiano have combined in about one-fifth of the aforementioned 250 Seeking the Gold/Mr. Prospector stakes winners.

Analyze It, Glamanation and Admission Office all show the influence of Crimson Satan as well. Crimson Satan is best known as Storm Cat’s 2nd damsire but he’s also the damsire of both Mt. Livermore and Royal Academy (by Nijinsky II), damsire of Admission Office (and close Storm Cat relative). Mares by the Storm Cat great grandson Shanghai Bobby (dam by Orientate) are very interesting for Point of Entry as are daughters and granddaughters of Giant’s Causeway (by Storm Cat out of mare by the Blushing Groom son Rahy).

Unbridled’s Song is out of a mare by Caro, an influence also found in the pedigrees of SW Entirely and SP Devine Entry. Daughters of Ghostzapper are promising for Point of Entry given Ghostzapper’s considerable success as a sire with Roberto-line mares. Ghostzapper’s G1W Contested is out of a mare bred Roberto over Seeking the Gold and he’s had other top level success with Dynaformer (G1W Stately Victor, etc.) and Seeking The Gold (G1W Better Lucky, etc.). Mares by Ghostzapper’s sire Awesome Again (by Deputy Minister, dam by Blushing Groom) are similarly intriguing.

Another current source of Mt. Livermore is the A. P. Indy grandson Dialed In, who’s out of a daughter of Mt. Livermore. A. P. Indy is Analyze It’s 3rd damsire. Point of Entry’s 2018 2-year-old SW Entirely is out of a mare by Danzig, who we also find in the pedigree of SP Devine Entry (2nd dam

dena Springs bred, raced and developed Awesome Again into an elite North American sire followed by his homebred Hall of Fame son Ghostzapper. Next up is the Adena Springs bred and raced Shaman Ghost, a champion son of Ghostzapper.

Ghostzapper has produced a high degree of quality with mares showing Mr. Prospector and Storm Bird/Storm Cat. G2W Go Maggie Go is out of a mare by Tale of the Cat (bred Storm Cat over Mr. Prospector) and G1-placed Zapperkat is out of a mare by Tale of the Cat’s son Lion Heart. We also find Mr. Prospector & Storm Cat in the dams of Better Lucky and Elghayoor and Mr. Prospector/Storm Bird are present in the dams of two more stakes winners.

Awesome Again has not had overwhelming success when bred to Mr. Prospector-influenced mares but Ghostzapper has. In fact, around half of Ghostzapper’s stakes horses are out of mares showing Mr. Prospector within five generations. Since Shaman Ghost’s female line is free of Mr. Prospector (and Raise A Native) we can expect him to follow his sire’s lead.

Both Awesome Again and Ghostzapper have done good work with the Roberto broodmare line. Ghostzapper’s first two starters out of mares by the Roberto grandson Arch (by Kris S.) are graded winners. Ghostzapper has had success with mares by other Roberto-line damsires like Dynaformer, Silver Hawk, and another Kris S. son, You and I.

Mares showing Forty Niner are especially intriguing for Shaman Ghost. From 20 starters out of Forty Niner granddaughters, Ghostzapper has sired six stakes winners (30%). Three of those are out of Distorted Humor mares, including G1W Molly Morgan.

Ghostzapper’s Dak Attack is the latest good one bred on the Awesome Again/Caro cross. He’s out of a daughter of Indian Charlie, sire of Uncle Mo, whose daughters are certainly interesting as he’s out a mare by Arch. There are now 11 stakes winners on the Awesome Again/Caro cross, eight of them graded winners.

Seeking the Gold is found in the pedigrees of the Ghostzapper stakes winners Contested (G1W), Better Lucky (G1W) and McCraken (G1W/G1SP). Ghostzapper’s G3W Angel Terrace & SW Elghayoor are both out of daughters of Gone West while his MGSW Gamble’s Ghost is out of a mare by Gone West’s full brother, Secret Claim. Ghostzapper also has stakes winners out of mares showing the Gone West sons Proud Citizen and Grand Slam.

Seattle Slew-line mares should also be strongly considered for Shaman Ghost. Six stakes winners (four graded) by Ghostzapper are out of Seattle Slew-line mares, including Whitney H. (G1) hero Moreno out of daughter of A. P. Indy. The overall Awesome Again/ Seattle Slew cross has yielded 15 stakes winners, over half of those at the graded level.

Fappiano is found in the pedigree of seven stakes horses by Ghostzapper. G3W Pacific Ocean is out of a mare by Unbridled and MG1W Paulassilverlining (dam by Grindstone) is out of an Unbridled granddaughter.

Breeders’ Cup/Eclipse Champion Judy the Beauty and 2017 Queen’s Plate winner Holy Helena are among Ghostzapper’s nine starters with Holy Bull mares (22%).

Giant Gizmo

ares from the Fappiano branch of the Mr. Prospector line are working predictably well with Giant Gizmo. From just four starters, he’s sired Classic/graded winner Amis Gizmo, SW Keen Ice and GSP Ethical Funds out of mares by Victory Gallop, a son of the Fappiano stallion Cryptoclearance.

Bold Ruckus son Bold Executive he’s sired SW Spin the King and Cooler Mike, dual Classic-placed in 2018. Bold Ruckus is also found in the third damline of the mare Luna Blu, dam of a pair of blacktype runners by Giant Gizmo.

SW Ruth Less Blue and his stakes-placed full sibling Blu Without You are out of a mare by Lemon Drop Kid, a son of Kingmambo. The larger Giant’s Causeway/Kingmambo cross has yielded at least 18 other stakes winners, four of them at the Grade 1 level. Other Mr. Prospector-line strains that have done well with Giant’s Causeway and his sons include Seeking the Gold, Gone West, Thunder Gulch and Machiavellian.

Victory Gallop is out of a mare by Vice Regent, an influence found in nearly 50% of Giant Gizmo’s stakes horses. SP Freitag is out of a mare by the Vice Regent son Regal Classic, also the second damsire of GSP Ethical Funds (the dam of that runner carries a double of Vice Regent). This put mares showing Marquetry in play as he too is bred on the Mr. Prospector/Vice Regent cross. Silver Deputy is bred Vice Regent over Mr. Prospector and we find his influence in SP Splashy Gizmo’s second damline. Daughters and granddaughters of Awesome Again (by Deputy Minister, second dam by Mr. Prospector) should also go well with Giant Gizmo.

Reinforcing the Storm Bird influence has paid dividends for Giant Gizmo. Classic & Graded winner Brooklynsway is out of a mare by the Storm Cat son Radio Star and is among the over 115 total stakes winners inbred to Storm Cat so far (within four generations). We also find a double of Storm Bird in SP Splashy Gizmo’s pedigree. Nijinsky II, who’s bred similarly to Storm Bird, is the grandsire of a pair of good ones by Giant Gizmo – SP Fresh Princess out of a mare by Royal Academy and 2018 SP Royal Laser out of a daughter of Green Dancer.

Giant Gizmo has done well with another important Canadian influence, that of Bold Ruckus. From 9 starters out of the

73

Giant Gizmo has had success with the Forty Niner branch of the Mr. Prospector tree. SP Splashy Gizmo is out of a mare by the Forty Niner son Pikepass while the second dam of Classic/graded winner Brooklynsway is by another Forty Niner stallion, Editor’s Note.

This pattern figured to be a powerful one for Giant Gizmo based on the success of the larger Giant’s Causeway/Fappiano cross that’s produced over 25 stakes winners and three Grade 1 winners. Unbridled’s Song is the damsire of seven of those, making his daughters and granddaughters attractive for Giant Gizmo. Mares by other Unbridled-line stallions like Broken Vow, Empire Maker, Pioneerof the Nile, Grindstone, Birdstone, Summer Bird, and daughters and granddaughters of the Cryptoclearance grandson Candy Ride, can also be considered prime targets.

hampion Hunters Bay was an exceptionally gifted and versatile runner. He was a winner on dirt, a multiple graded winner on polytrack and Grade 1-placed on turf. He’s a son of Ghostzapper and grandson of Awesome Again, two Hall of Fame runners and prolific stallions.

Reinforcing the Mr. Prospector in Hunters Bay pedigree should prove beneficial as around half of Ghostzapper’s stakes horses are out of mares showing Mr. Prospector within five generations. With Forty Niner-influenced mares, Ghostzapper has sired seven stakes horses, four Graded winners, including G1W Molly Morgan (dam by Distorted Humor).

Ghostzapper and Awesome Again have had very good success with the Hail to Reason broodmare line. The Roberto branch of this line is worth targeting in particular. Ghostzpapper’s G1W Contested and G2W/G1SP Proctor’s Ledge are out of mares by the Roberto grandson Arch and his Blue Grass S. (G1) winner Stately Victor is out of a mare by the Roberto son Dynaformer. Ghostzapper/Awesome Again have also sired stakes winners out of mares by Kris S., Silver Hawk and Red Ransom.

We find Fappiano in 11 stakes horses by Ghostzapper. Three of them, including GSW Pacific Ocean are out of mares by Unbridled, while MG1W Paulassilverlining is out of a mare by the Unbridled stallion Grindstone.

Seattle Slew-line mares should also be strongly considered for Hunters Bay. Six stakes winners (four graded) by Ghostzapper are out of such dams, including G1W Moreno, G3W Matthewsburg and 2018 G3W/G1SP Champagne Problems out of daughters of A. P. Indy. Ghostzapper’s G2W Mystical Star and SW Zapper Belle are both out of daughters of Capote. The overall Awesome Again/ Seattle Slew cross has yielded at least 15 stakes winners, eight at the graded level.

Ghostzapper’s Champion/Grade 1 winner Shaman Ghost shows a double of Relaunch at 3x5 as his third dam is by the Relaunch stallion Skywalker. The second dams of G1W Stately Victor and G2W Hear the Ghost are by Valid Appeal. G1W Contested also carries a double of In Reality through Believe It, sire of her third dam. ike his sire, Wild Again, Milwaukee Brew has performed well with a wide array of influences, siring stakes winners out of mares from no less than nine different broodmare lines.

Procurement is out of a mare by the Fappiano son Unbridled while SP Sheriff Clarke is out of a mare by the Unbridled son Broken Vow. We also find Fappiano in the lineage of G1W Akheel and SP Judge Brew, who is out of a mare by Cryptoclearance, a stallion bred Fappiano over Vice Regent. Champion Ginger Brew is out of a mare by the Mr. Prospector son Conquistador Cielo, also the second damsire of SP Salomea. Milwaukee Brew has an additional stakes horse out of a mare by the Conquistador Cielo son Marquetry, another stallion out of a Vice Regent daughter.

Storm Cat and Danzig are two other recommended Northern Dancer-line targets for Milwaukee Brew. SW Wild Catomine’s second dam is by Storm Cat and SP Tulio’s Brew is out of a mare by the Storm Cat grandson Menifee.

Milwaukee Brew has sired a trio of stakes horses out of mares showing Crafty Prospector, including SW Hometown Gossip. Crafty Prospector and Unbridled are both bred on versions of the Mr. Prospector/In Reality cross and In Reality is found in a total of eight Milwaukee Brew stakes horses. Storm Bird/Storm Cat are other Northern Dancer-line influences that should go well with Rookie Sensation. Unbridled’s Song and 13 of his sons have sired over 40 stakes winners out of Storm Catinfluenced mares. This sample includes a pair of Grade 1 winners by Unbridled’s Song and three more by his sons.

ookie Sensation is a son of the late Unbridled’s Song out of a mare from the sire-producing female line of A. P. Indy, Summer Squall and Lemon Drop Kid, etc.

In Reality-influenced mares went extremely well with Unbridled’s Song to the tune of at least 14 stakes winners, seven of them Grade 1 winners, including his last two Breeders’ Cup champions, Liam’s Map and Arrogate. A total of 10 sons of Unbridled’s Song have now sired stakes winners out of mares showing In Reality.

Daughters and granddaughters of Giant’s Causeway are certainly interesting, including mares by the Adena Springs North stallion Giant Gizmo. The reverse of the Unbridled’s Song/Giant’s Causeway cross has yielded four Graded winners, including MG1W Carpe Diem. In addition, we find Nureyev (Rookie Sensation’s maternal grandsire) and Giant’s Causeway together in the pedigrees of over 65 stakes winners and seven Group/Grade 1 winners around the globe.

Unbridled’s Song over Deputy Minister has produced a high degree of quality, with Arrogate a prime example. His second dam is by Deputy Minister while Eclipse Award champion Will Take Charge is among the pair of Grade 1 winners Unbridled’s Song sired with daughters of the Deputy Minister son Dehere. G1W Majestic Harbor is by an Unbridled’s Song son out of a mare by French Deputy. That son of Deputy Minister is also damsire of a Grade 2 winner by the Unbridled’s Song stallion Songandaprayer. Daughters of the Deputy Minister stallions Awesome Again and Touch Gold have contributed to the success of this cross as well. Daughters of Awesome Again’s top son Ghostzapper (out of an In Reality granddaughter) should also go well with Rookie Sensation.

Unbridled’s Song and his sons are clicking with select strains of the Mr. Prospector line, namely Forty Niner and Gone West. Arrogate is out of a daughter of the Forty Niner son Distorted Humor, also the damsire of a stakes winner by Unbridled’s Song’s son Even the Score. Liam’s Map is out of a mare by the Forty Niner grandson Trippi (by End Sweep out of a Valid Appeal daughter). Ria Antonia is out of a daughter of the Gone West stallion Mr. Greeley, damsire of three other SWs on this cross. Overall there are at least 12 stakes winners and seven graded winners bred Unbridled’s Song over Gone West.

Unbridled’s Song and his sons have sired over 30 stakes winners (four G1 winners) out of mares showing Nijinsky II. The Unbridled’s Song sire-line has produced a similar number of stakes winners with mares carrying Danzig. There are a trio of G1 winners in that group, including Breeders’ Cup winners Ria Antonia and Arrogate.

Unbridled’s Song and his sons have produced exceptional quality out of mares showing Hold Your Peace (sire of Meadowlake, etc.) – at least 10 SWs, eight of them winners at the G1 or G2 level.

ignature Red is a son of the top international Storm Cat stallion Bernstein, a Champion Sire and sire of 19 G1 winners around the globe. He has a pedigree free of Mr. Prospector, shows Northern Dancer back in his fifth generation and Raise A Native further back still in the sixth.

Silent Name mares are especially interesting for Signature Red as one of Bernstein’s Breeders’ Cup winners, 2014 Mile hero Karakontie, is out of a mare by Silent Name’s sire Sunday Silence (by Halo). The larger Bernstein/Halo cross has produced at least eight more stakes winners, including four other G1 winners and a G3 winner by a Bernstein son. Many of these are out of daughters of Southern Halo, making mares showing his terrific son More Than Ready very interesting for Signature Red as well. Based on Bernstein’s success, other Mr. Prospector-line targets for Signature Red include Carson City, Gone West, Kingmambo (sire of Lemon Drop Kid), Gulch (sire of Court Vision), Seeking the Gold (sire of Where’s the Ring) and Fappiano (grandsire of Niigon).

We also find Danzig in the pedigree of SW Latonka, whose damsire is bred on the Mr. Prospector/Danzig cross. Distorted Humor and Fusaichi Pegasus are among the stallions bred on this cross and mares showing those influences are candidates for Signature Red. Exchange Rate is bred on the reverse of the Mr. Prospector/Danzig cross.

Mares showing the Mr. Prospector grandson Street Cry are also worth consideration as he’s a source of both Halo and Never Bend. The latter influence is found in a pair of Signature Red’s early stakes horses. The Street Cry male-line in North America includes Street Sense, Street Boss and former Canadian stallion Victor’s Cry.

Distorted Humor is particularly compelling as he’s a son of Forty Niner. Bernstein is the sire of at least five stakes winners out of Forty Niner granddaughters, four of those, including a G1 winner, are out of daughters of Roar. Forty Niner is found in the pedigree of Signature Red’s SW Red Cabernet (2nd dam by Twining).

Bernstein had a good deal of success in South America with mares by the Buckpasser stallion Egg Toss. Remaining North American sources of Buckpasser include grandsons like the former Adena Springs stallion Einstein (by Spend a Buck), Kentucky Derby winner Silver Charm (by Silver Buck) and Montbrook (by Buckaroo). The aforementioned Seeking the Gold and Exchange Rate merit consideration based on this evidence as well. Seeking the Gold is by Mr. Prospector out of a Buckpasser daughter while Exchange Rate is by Danzig out of a Seeking the Gold daughter.

Other contemporary Canadian sources of Danzig include the late Langfuhr son Wando and Adena Springs’ own Silent Name, who’s out of a mare by the great Danzig stallion Danehill.

Signature Red’s SW Signature Spring is out of a mare by the Danzig son Outflanker and the overall Storm Cat/Danzig cross is approaching 400 stakes winners worldwide. Outflanker is bred on the Danzig/Alydar cross similar to Hard Spun putting his daughters and granddaughters in play.

r. Prospector-influenced mares have always been obvious targets for Silent Name and he’s come through with 14 stakes winners and eight additional stakesplaced runners out of such dams.

Cat son Harlan. She joins the Silent Name stakes winners Valiant Cat (dam by Storm Cat) and G2W/G1SP Fanticola (dam by Tabasco Cat). SP Marten River is out of a mare by Tumblebrutus, a full brother to Giant’s Causeway.

Silent Name has a trio of stakes winners out of mares showing the Fappiano branch, including SP Silent Sam out of a mare by the Unbridled son Grindstone and new 2018 SW Zestina whose 2nd dam is by Unbridled.

G2W/Breeders’ Cup-placed Silentio is an example of Silent Name’s affinity for the Seattle Slew broodmare line. He is out of a mare by Seattle Slew’s best son, A. P. Indy, while SW Be Vewy Vewy Quiet is out of a mare by the A. P. Indy stallion Malibu Moon. SW Silent Serenity is out of a daughter by another Seattle Slew champion son, Capote, who’s also the damsire of G3SP Silent Eagle and the 3rd damsire of SW Clickity Clack.

Conquistador Cielo is found in the pedigrees of SW Hopping Not Hoping (grandsire of her 3rd dam) and Silent Serenity (sire of her 2nd dam). Silent Name has stakes horses out of mares showing Not For Love, Seeking the Gold, Mining and Miswaki who are all bred on versions of the Mr. Prospector/Buckpasser cross.

Silent Name has also had good success with the most prominent Canadian Bold Ruler influence, that of Boldnesian through Bold Ruckus. We find Bold Ruckus in the pedigree of five Silent Name stakes horses, including SW Silent Treat and SP Silent Flash out of mares by Bold n’ Flashy and SP Silent Respect out of a daughter of Bold Executive.

SW Crysta’s Court is out of a mare by the Forty Niner son Distorted Humor, who’s out of a daughter of Danzig, grandsire of Silent Name’s dam. Silent Name has three other stakes winners and a Graded-placed runner out of mares that return Danzig and they are among the over 600 blacktype winners around the globe that show a Danzig double within four generations. Silent Name’s new 2018 SW Zestina is out of a daughter of the Danzig stallion Hard Spun; G3W No Silent is out of a mare by another Danzig son War Chant (out of a Mr. Prospector mare).

SW/G1SP Mr. Online and his 2018 SP full brother Carmenootz are out of a mare by the Caro grandson Alphabet Soup (by Cozzene). 2018 SW Silent Sting out of a daughter of Monarchos, a son of Maria’s Mon (dam by Caro). Mares showing the Fappiano grandson Unbridled’s Song (dam also by Caro) are very interesting for Silent Name as are daughters of Super Saver, by Maria’s Mon out of an A. P. Indy mare.

Silent Name has worked well Storm Cat-line mares. SW Hopping Not Hoping is out of a mare by Harlan’s Holiday, by the Storm

include Mizzen Mast and his Canadian son Mast Track.

y the Silver Deputy son Badge of Silver, Silver Max is the most promising Deputy Minister-line stallion to retire to Ontario in recent years.

Silver Deputy over Blushing Groom has produced six stakes winners (four graded, one Grade 1), all of them out of mares by Rahy. The Storm Cat son Giant’s Causeway is out of a Rahy mare and his daughters and granddaughters are worth consideration. Daughters of Giant’s Causeway’s top Canadian son, Adena Spring North’s own Giant Gizmo, are especially attractive based on his success as a sire with the Vice Regent/Deputy Minister influence (nearly 50% of his stakes horses).

Silver Deputy male-line descendants have sired at least nine stakes winners with mares from the Forty Niner branch of the Mr. Prospector tree, including G1W Kodiak Kowboy (dam by Coronado’s Quest). End Sweep is the damsire of a stakes winner by Badge of Silver and a stakes winner by the Silver Deputy son Posse. Other sources of Forty Niner include Distorted Humor and his sons Sharp Humor, Any Given Saturday & Flower Alley.

Badge of Silver has sired a stakes winner out of a mare by the Storm Cat stallion Forest Wildcat, the damsire of at least two other stakes winners by Deputy Minister-line stallions. The Deputy Minister/ Storm Cat cross has produced over 35 stakes winners worldwide with Tale of the Cat the damsire of a trio of those. Daughters of the Canadian-based Storm Cat grandson Old Forester, a son of Forestry, can be considered for Silver Max as well.

Mares from the Fappiano offshoot should also go well with Silver Max. Silver Deputy-line stallions have sired at least 11 stakes winners, six graded and two Grade 1 winners out of Fappiano-line mares. Three of these are out of mares by the Fappiano grandson Unbridled’s Song.

Adena Springs’ two-time champion sire Milwaukee Brew has done exceptionally well with Vice Regent/Deputy Minister-influenced mares (15 stakes horses) so the reverse of this prolific cross is also worth trying.

The larger Deputy Minister/Caro cross has yielded over 20 stakes winners globally, including two SWs out of Indian Charlie daughters (one of those by Badge of Silver). This puts mares by Indian Charlie’s son Uncle Mo in the game for Silver Max. Cozzene and his sons Alphabet Soup and Running Stag are collectively the damsires of eight more of these stakes winners. Other sources of Cozzene

Badge of Silver has sired a Group 1 winner out of a mare by the Buckpasser grandson Silver Charm, one of at least three stakes winners bred Silver Deputy over Buckpasser. The Buckpasser son Spend a Buck is found in the pedigree of another Badge of Silver stakes winner, putting mares by the former Adena Springs Spend a Buck son Einstein squarely in play for Silver Max.

Mr. Prospector-line mares are especially promising for Silver Max as Silver Deputy (dam by Mr. Prospector), along with his sons and grandsons, have sired over 30 stakes winners out of such dams. Overall there are over 80 stakes winners that show Silver Deputy on the top side of the pedigree and Mr. Prospector on the bottom half.

by the Unbridled son Red Bullet (dam by Caro). We find Caro as the damsire of GSP Northern Bay. Other sources of Caro include Alphabet Soup and Mizzen Mast (both sons of Cozzene), Mast Track (by Mizzen Mast) and Unbridled’s Song, who is bred similarly to Red Bullet.

ith exceptional stallions like Galileo, Frankel, Montjeu, El Prado and his sons Kitten’s Joy and Medaglia d’Oro, etc., the sire-line of the great Sadler’s Wells is dominant on both sides of the Atlantic. Sligo Bay is the leading son of Sadler’s Wells currently at stud in North America.

Mares carrying the influence of Roberto have produced good results with Sligo Bay. His G3W Chirac is out of a mare by the Roberto grandson You and I (by Kris S.) while the second dam of Oaks winner Neshama and her SP full sister She’s Got Fire are out of a mare by the Roberto son Lear Fan. Overall, there are over 110 stakes winners bred Sadler’s Wells over Roberto.

Sligo Bay has done predictably well with mares showing Mr. Prospector in their pedigrees. In fact, well over half of his stakes horses are out of mares that show Mr. Prospector within five generations. MG2W Bourbon Bay is out of a mare by the Mr. Prospector son Conquistador Cielo, and Sligo Bay has worked with other Mr. Prospector strains such as Afleet, Carson City, Crafty Prospector, Fappiano, Gone West, and Miswaki.

Sligo Bay has sired SW Wind in My Wings out of a daughter of the A. P. Indy stallion Pulpit (dam by Mr. Prospector). Sligo Bay has also sired G3W Paladin Bay out of a mare bred Seattle Slew over Mr. Prospector putting mares by the wealth of stallions bred on the A. P. Indy/Mr. Prospector cross into play. Overall, Sadler’s Wells over A. P. Indy has produced over 30 stakes winners, nine at the G1 level.

Mares by the Gulch son Thunder Gulch are interesting for Sligo Bay as his daughters have produced stakes winners by five different Sadler’s Wells-line stallions, three of them at the G1 level.

Sligo Bay has done well with mares carrying the In Reality influence. Neshama’s third dam is by In Reality while SW Dulce Agar is out of a mare by the In Reality grandson Kipper Kelly (by Valid Appeal). That dam carries an additional strain of In Reality through Real Crafty Lady, the dam of Crafty Prospector. The second dam of the SP Sligovitz is by In Reality, while the second dam of SP Messy Marvin, is by the In Reality grandson Waquoit (by Relaunch).

Sligo Bay’s most recent SW, Fairy Hill, is out of a granddaughter of the Mr. Prospector stallion Woodman. Sligo Bay is also doing very well with dams showing the influence of Caro. Dual Champion/Classic Winner and Millionaire Lexie Lou is out of a mare by the Caro grandson In Excess (sire of Indian Charlie, grandsire of Uncle Mo). G2W Bay to Bay is out of a mare by the Caro stallion With Approval as is SP Garavougue. G3W Regalo Mia is out of a mare
