COA Public Works was able to complete a fall sweep of the Loop Road. Many of you have expressed thanks for this. We are committed to on-going Loop Road improvements. This summer we were able to successfully trim back some of the more narrow sections of the road. We will continue with this throughout the winter months.

An astounding amount of full mutt mitts continue to appear throughout the wooded areas of the Park. A curious phenomenon. The worst part of the job has been done; the poo has been collected. Why not go ahead and find a trash can to leave it in? Is there a certain perverse joy taken in flinging poo? Is this some kind of childhood fantasy only now being realized? Is it too much time on monkey poo YouTube? I don’t have a clear answer, but I am picking up lots of full mutt mitts all over the place. Rise above the darkness of your own psyche and get the poo to the trash.

SUMMER REVENUES UP Washington Park visitors came out in even greater numbers this year. Camping revenue is up 8%, while boat lot trailer parking is up 5% from 2013 revenues. These collected park fees stay right here at the park, and help reduce the amount needed from local taxpayers, thus freeing up valuable funds for other much needed city services. — Bob Vaux, Manager 360/661-3463
