You blame the distance and discord on stress or the fact that you are struggling with money or the children. This means really talking not glazing over the issues that are affecting the foundation of your relationship. Another tip to get your marriage back on the track towards mutual fulfillment is to take time to just be a couple, instead of always interacting as parents. Life can be exhausting and that can result in a married couple pushing their one-on-one time aside in favor of everything from catching up on sleep to doing chores around the house. You need to focus on each other though and that should be in an uninterrupted setting. You don't need to go to great lengths to accomplish this. Even some alone time in the morning before the children wake up or when they go to bed at night will suffice. Just make the effort to spend time with each other as husband and wife instead of mom and dad.

We tend to focus on the negative in our partner over time especially if they have habits we find distasteful or annoying. Concentrating just on those things can lead to a shift in what you feel for them. Start today to make a change by looking at them through the same eyes you did when you first met. Remember the qualities in them that made you fall so much in love. Doing that will only help you to feel closer to them all over again which in turn will result in a happier and stronger marriage.
