PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Dear Homeowners: As the holiday season approaches and on behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to wish all a very happy and prosperous holiday season. This time of year is always an exciting time as family and friends come together to celebrate the holidays. The recent completion of the VIP pavilion; the new Public Safety Building; a new Kirkham Back Gate; new materials storage building, resurfacing of the VIP tennis courts, and the widening of the homeowner gate on Lancaster caps off a year of significant capital projects. SCE’s Board of Director’s, Committee’s, and staff have been busy preparing the 2013 Budget where a few key Capital projects for 2013 will include: renovation of the member services building and replacing the front deck, four rest rooms to be renovated, Mill Pond pool deck coating and a new Lancaster Gate Bus Stop. The focus has been and continues to be on maintaining our existing infrastructures and the associated amenities. The Recreation Department together with the Top of the World Restaurant held multiple

fundraisers throughout the year to benefit Pocono Environmental Education Center. A check for the total proceeds in the amount of $2,099.29 was recently presented to Jeffrey Rosalsky, CEO of PEEC. A big thanks goes to all the residents who participated in the events as well the staff of the Recreation Department TOW and members of the Recreation Committee for their efforts and hard work coordinating the events to ensure they were a success. The Legislative Action Committee recently hosted a “meet and greet “on Saturday, September 29th for our state candidates; Ms. Rosemary Brown & Ms. Liz Forrest, we had a fine turnout and everyone seemed to enjoy the opportunity to speak face to face with both candidates. Both candidates expressed their appreciation of having this event and are looking forward to working with Saw Creek on pertinent issues. Thanks to Ron Trimble, Jessica VanDerVliet and her special assistant, Michael for assisting the Legislative Action Committee with the coordination & setting up of this event and making sure everything went smoothly.

The Strategic Planning Survey has now ended and together with the Strategic Planning Committee, the SCE Board of Directors and Management Staff, we would like to thank all the homeowner’s who participated in this survey. The results are being finalized and incorporated into our strategic plan. We will be holding a town hall meeting in the next couple of months to communicate the survey results as well as present a strategic plan to our community. This survey will be instrumental in our task of creating a viable long term strategic plan for our Association and I would like to personally commend the Strategic Planning Committee for all their hard work in creating this survey. On Saturday, November 17th, together with the Recreation Committee, the Recreation Department will be holding our annual “Pot Luck Dinner” at the TOW Complex, and open to all SCE residents, all are invited and welcome! Come join us, bring a dish & show off your cooking skills, share your best recipes and meet your neighbors. Last year we had an overflow crowd and a great time was had by all. New friends were made and we all got to taste a varied array of fine food. As we begin to make our New Year resolutions why not make one to get more involved with your community. Homeowners often ask what can be done to keep dues low. The best answer is to volunteer. Volunteers give us the opportunity to offer services that would otherwise require funds. It is also a great way to get to know others that live in the community. Join the Men’s club, Women’s club, a committee, become a volunteer and if your schedule prevents that, at least check our website to see what’s going on in your community. Have you ever noticed a light out in the community or a street sign that is down; as homeowners, there is a direct way for you to raise these types of issues to the management team, send an e-mail: to All requests are then entered in to the maintenance log and tracked through completion. In closing for 2012, I would like to thank the Board of Directors, Committee volunteers and all our valued employees for all their time and effort they give to our community. I wish you all a Happy Holiday and a Happier New Year!
