CRBM Clamp Locking Device: Maximum safety, minimum maintenance

The new CRBM clamp locking device is the result of more than 130 years of experience in the research, manufacture, installation and maintenance of Fixed Railway Stock. This experience has allowed us to develop solutions that offer major advantages in functionality and maintenance, such as the new Low Maintenance Roller Locking Device (CRBM). The CRBM consists of two independent bodies, joined by a cardan joint placed between them.

Each one of the bodies is secured to its guide rail and is responsible for moving and locking the corresponding point. A roller mechanism inside the sealed box is responsible for locking the point in the open position and in the closed position. The tightness between the point and counterpoint is controlled by means of disc springs, capable of generating high levels of tightness and taking up very little space.

Any expansion in the point is absorbed without difficulty. The upper part of the locking device turns independently of the lower part and moves with the point. As a result, it is a maximum safety locking device, easy to install and virtually maintenance free.

CRBM: Main Advantages • Easy installation by only one person. • Compact construction, only 116 mm when operated • Can be installed without drill holes in the guide rail. • Synchronous movement of points. • Adaptable to all track widths. • Absorbs any expansion in the point easily. • Blocks the coupled point and the open one too.

• There is no residual retaining force. Even in the case of the breakage of the tie-bar that joins the drive unit to the locking device, or the intermediate tiebar that joins both locking devices, the points remain locked in position. • All the mechanisms are sealed against water or dirt getting in from the outside, the parts roll or slide on anti-friction materials. Virtually no maintenance is required.
