Welcome Dear Colleagues, It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2011 YTA Technology Leadership Awards. This program has become one of the most successful events in our industry, thanks in large measure to your participation. Clearly there is no shortage of great technology companies in the Greater Toronto Area and within the YTA membership, as evidenced by the impressive nominations we received this year. While they operate in different industries and have their unique share of challenges, what’s common about each is how they’ve turned these challenges to opportunities. This year’s winners are remarkable: they truly demonstrate innovation and leadership which we all aspire to. They’ve built and grown successful businesses, strengthening the technology industry and our region’s economy. Whether it’s connecting students and schools to enhance education, producing new analytical equipment to find a cure to diseases more quickly, or managing enterprise resources more efficiently – our winners are leading examples of how technology can help solve real-world problems. It is the stories of companies like mySpark Technologies, DVS Sciences and Platform Computing that inspire others across the country to take courage and build upon their own ideas as they too grow viable, thriving businesses. This awards program is a celebration of the success of our members and the broader community, and it is our sincere hope that the sharing of their achievements will inspire others in advancing their own pursuits. A special thank you to MNP as sponsor and organizer of the awards program. Your support is highly valued and in fact makes this tremendous initiative even possible. Congratulations especially to our nominees and winners. With warm regards,

John Kitchen Chair, YTA
