HELLO! My name is Kyle and I’m a graphic design student from Manchester. I create visual communication that combines the digital and the physical, the old and the new, the serious and the fun. My work is based on an ethical approach and I am passionate about making things that inspire positive change. I hope you enjoy my portfolio!
Design guidelines for Salford Museum and Art Gallery I designed the visual identity for BrainWaves, an art and culture festival at Salford Museum and Art Gallery. The design is aimed at young graduates who want to engage more with culture and it also promotes the gallery. I was inspired by the work of Memphis Group and pop art. Apart from the identity, I also designed advertising and merchandise.
Why sustainability matters? I was tasked to create an educational info-graphic about sustainability for kids and teenagers. I designed an interactive spherical panorama in virtual reality, providing information about endangered animals. Interactivity provides an engaging way to learn and have fun at the same time. The hotspots lead to shadow-boxes that provide direct advice on how to help the environment through action.
Money: The concept of value This publication visually represents the concept of value and how it relates to money. How do we know what price to put on things? What makes us value certain things in life? Are there any things that are still priceless to us? I explored these questions in a set of screen-printed posters. Each poster focusses on a different topic and is preceded by a written introduction printed on tracing paper. The publication comes in a hand-made envelope and includes price stickers that the audience can place onto things they value.
