CT+L 365 MARCH
OUR FAVORITE BEACH BARS
1
The Soggy Dollar, BVI ➔ Mic methodically pumps out painkillers by the halfdozen. Boats begin arriving before noon, anchoring feet of White Bay Beach, radios up. The Soggy crowd (left) swells far beyond the bar’s tiny footprint, content to play ring toss, and slowly get drunk in the sand. They come from every island within boating distance Sunday after Sunday because there’s no place in the world they’d rather be.
2
MooMba Beach Bar, Aruba ➔ Shaded by divi divi trees and giant thatch palapas, this is Aruba’s epicenter of idle. A bastion of inaction on a tranquil shore by day, it’s just the opposite
by night. When the locals routinely speak five languages and love to salsa, there’s no excuse not to meet people.
3
BasilÕs, Mustique ➔ Rich people know how to party. Since glitterati from Academy Award winners to royalty regularly grace Basil’s (that’s him below) Bali-style
