ABOUT US:
30 YEARS - ONE MISSION
Our Mission:
Amigos For Kids is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect through programs that empower children, strengthen families, and educate communities.
How we take action on our mission :
WE SERVE AND EMPOWER South Florida’s children and families in need through our programs and events by giving them the skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.
WE STRENGTHEN FAMILIES through our Parenting Program, designed to build parenting skills that break the intergenerational cycle of maltreatment and dysfunction by targeting families at risk.
WE TRANSFORM COMMUNITIES by getting involved on the ground with support for our families with vital resources during times of need such as food, school supplies, resource guidance, and even emergency housing and furnishing.
WE EDUCATE COMMUNITIES through awareness because awareness fuels change. We raise awareness through our award-winning campaigns like Broken Crayons.
SERVING THE NEED A DIVE INTO OUR PROGRAMS
After School & Summer Camp Program:
Free out-of-school programs for children ages 6-12 at Jose Marti Park & Citrus Grove K-8 providing homework assistance, educational & enrichment programs, nutritious food, and field trips.

Toy Drive:
A program designed to fulfill the holiday wishes of under-resourced children throughout South Florida.
Broken Crayons Campaign:
A multi-platform campaign that showcases the work from renowned child protection expert, Dr. Elspeth McInnes, shows unsuspecting art goers coming to the startling realization that children hide troubling truths in their classroom drawings.
The Missing Review:
An initiative created by Amigos for Kids to put a spotlight on missing children by reading and writing Google reviews about them on popular local destinations, resulting in increased awareness and safe return of missing children.
Parenting Program:
A best practice curriculum that brings parents and their children together to participate in weekly, concurrent sessions and then come together for a family dinner to practice what was learned.
Blue Ribbon Campaign:
During the month of April, National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a variety of activities take place to raise awareness including: Art Contests, Rock Your Socks, Amigos Walk for Great Childhoods, Monique Burr Foundation’s Child Safety Matters Lessons.
Blue BackPack Project:
