Wales Breaks Its Silence‌ from Memories to Memorial Tue 3 July-Sat 6 October 10am-5pm The story behind the tragic sinking of the SS Arandora Star in 1940 when 53 Welsh-Italians lost their lives onboard this liner whilst being sent to internment camps in Canada.

Ffarwel Cymru Working Abroad Tue 9 October-Mon 31 December, 10am-5pm People who left Wales and the industrial causes for their migration.


The Woolly Tale 10am-5pm A fun and educational trail for families helping to discover the process from Fleece to Fabric.

Guided Tours A guided tour by our experienced craftspeople. Please contact the Museum for availability.

Village Trail 10am-5pm A self guided walk around the village of Dre-fach Felindre highlighting historical and interesting facts about the woollen industry in the locality.

(Welsh Language performance only) £5 per adult, £3 per child.

A day exploring the dyes used in the woollen industry with demonstration and workshops. Please contact the Museum for more information.

Looking to European folk art for continental inspiration to decorate locally sourced vintage enamelware picnicware plates and mugs. Materials supplied. £5. Booking essential.

Using Africa, its landscape and warm colours for inspiration to produce a collection of 'safari ethnic chic' jewellery using up-cycled materials, wooden beads, weaving and broken jewellery. £5. Booking essential.

Feltmaking Workshops Tue 31 July, Tue 14 & Tue 21 August, 1.30pm-3.30pm Wet felting and needle felting techniques. £5. Booking essential.

Music Workshops Sat 6 October, 1.30pm-3.30pm Learn more about the heritage of beautiful Welsh traditional music with Fiddlebox (George Whitfield and Helen Adam). £5. Booking essential.

Using various printmaking techniques and inspiration from India , we will design and make our own fabric scarf. £5. Booking essential.

This month we up-cycle old jumpers to create mittens, wrist and leg warmers. £5. Booking essential.

Natural Dyeing Workshop Wed 1, Wed 22 & Wed 29 August, 1.30pm-3.30pm Explore dyeing techniques. £5. Booking essential. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Calling all craft enthusiasts We are hoping to set up an evening craft club at the Museum. Craft enthusiasts of all abilities are welcome. Dates and times to be confirmed according to general interest. If you wish to attend the Craft Club and share ideas please contact Joanna Thomas
