Sun 25 November, 11am-4pm See Santa arrive by train and then visit him in his grotto. Enjoy making a seasonal craft to take home, visit our Quarrymen's Houses decorated for Christmas and enjoy family activities including puppet shows and storytelling. 1972 - 2012
2012 is the National Slate Museum’s 40th birthday and since 1972 we’ve welcomed nearly three million visitors though our doors. Find out what’s happened here over the past 40 years in this brand new exhibition which also highlights the variety and relevance of our industrial museums in Wales.
John Neville Foulkes (1937-1997) Thu 28 February-Fri 26 April A selection of work by the late artist and sculptor who spent many years working at the Dinorwig Slate Quarry, which had a profound effect on his thoughts and ideas and which are illustrated in this exhibition.
Sun 20 January, 1pm-3pm Decorate a slate heart for the one you love.
Model Railway Show Thu 14-Sun 17 February, 10am-4pm Daily demonstrations, talks, and various engines and layouts of all shapes and sizes on display. Don’t forget to bring your own 00 gauge trains and have a go on the children's test track layout!
St David’s Day Fri 1 March, 11am-3pm Enjoy a free welshcake in the museum cafe!
