Brigadier General John E. Michel, to speak on Putting Veterans back to work in America at Center for American Values (Pueblo, CO., Home of Heroes) - The Center for American Values will host United States Air Force Brigadier General John E. Michel on Tuesday, July 23 at 3pm as part of our ongoing “On Values” speaker series. General Michel author of the book “Mediocre Me – how saying no to the status quo will propel you from ordinary to extraordinary” delivers a dynamic and inspiring presentation focused on putting Veterans back to work in America. This event will take place in the Center’s main gallery and is open to the public and free to attend. Brig. Gen. John E. Michel will discuss how America was founded on the notion of strong moral character and how it pertains to leadership. He will also discuss how past, current and future military veterans are natural citizen leaders and how they can bring great qualities to a work place. Brig. Gen. John E. Michel states “It is everyone’s responsibility to at least be informed and acknowledge that we each play a role in how America can serve veterans after they have spent years serving America.” Brig. Gen. John E. Michel is Chief, Change and Learning Strategist, U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, III. He is responsible for developing and guiding efforts to ensure the DOD Transportation Strategy remains synchronized with National political and military priorities across the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise to include infrastructure, longrange programs, future requirements, coalition integration, and mobility partnerships with industry. General Michel entered the Air Force in 1988. He has served in a number of command and staff assignments, including USTRANSCOM Liaison to North American Aerospace Defense Command-U.S. Northern Command; Chief, Rated Staff Assignments and Deputy for Senior Officer Matters, Headquarters Air Mobility Command; and Deputy Director, Air, Central Command Deployment and Distribution Operations Center. He has commanded a tanker squadron, expeditionary operations group and air refueling wing. The Center for American Values is located on the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk in Pueblo, Colorado at 101 South Main Street.
