On our route / EN NUESTRA RUTA

Ya sea en un pueblito rural o en Salta capital, la naturaleza y las tradiciones van de la mano junto a modernas infraestructuras. Whether in a rural village or in Salta, the capital, nature and tradition go hand in hand with modern infrastructure.

This same main plaza is home to other historic buildings such as the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Museum of High Mountain Archeology (MAAM) and Contemporary Art (MAC), as well as the Centro Cultural América, a French style mansion built in 1913. These buildings are interspersed with modern offices occupied by banks, commercial shops and outdoor cafes that are a haven for the locals after a day’s work or for visitors after a tour of the city. Such a tour may well begin in the Parque San Martín, a green space that surrounds a lagoon, ideal for family walks. You can also take a walk in the clouds on the cable car. In the surrounding areas there are dozens of choices for visits including country routes, mountains, adventure sports and traditional villages. El Carril, San José de Cerrillos, Campo Quijano, Rosario de Lerma, Villa San Lorenzo, La Caldera and Salinas Grandes (shared with Jujuy) are the main towns where such activities are found, and that have an exquisite tourist infrastructure. And of course, every tour operator will offer a wide range of packages for visiting and participating in different activities in the famous Calchequíes Valleys, natural formations of great beauty, through which runs the eye-catching Sky Train.
