Llegó de Santiago a Bolivia hace 7 años por el trabajo de su esposo, esta mamá de 5 hijos (el mayor de 33 años y la menor de 15), vive solo con los dos menores ya que los grandes vuelan con alas propias. Nos cuenta que en Chile se celebra el Día de la Madre el segundo domingo de mayo. “Esta fecha antes era más significativa y hacíamos la hora del té en la casa de abuela. Al cambiarme de país lo celebro por las redes, me conecto al Skype, me mandan fotos. Acá celebramos el 27 de mayo por el tema escolar. Es curioso, las celebraciones fuera de tu país cambian totalmente, pasan los años y se van apagando un poco”, nos comentó. Due to her husband’s work, she came from Santiago to Bolivia seven years ago. This mother of five children (the oldest is 33 years old and the youngest is 15) lives with the two youngest children since the older ones have already left the nest. She tells us that in Chile people celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday of May. “When I still lived in Chile this date was more meaningful and we would have tea at my grandma’s house to celebrate. Now that I live in a different country, I celebrate with my Chilean family over social media and I connect to Skype, they send me photos. It’s funny but over time, the celebrations you have outside of your country change completely and fade bit,” she commented.
