Upskilling in Action

We have strengthened our leadership and capability pathways to ensure we’re not only delivering today, but ready for tomorrow. From frontline supervisors to senior leaders, our programmes are designed to create clarity, consistency and readiness for future challenges across the business. They support confidence, capability, and long‑term career development at every stage.

Supervisor Pathway: Our structured route from Chargehand to Senior Supervisor brings together technical competence, behavioural expectations, and compliance standards. This isn’t just training, it’s operational readiness, strengthening consistency on site and ensuring our supervisors are commercially aware, aligned to our values, and equipped to lead safely and effectively.

Our Tipton training facility in England recently welcomed six colleagues to commence an intensive six-week Upskilling Rigging Course, further strengthening Altrad’s commitment to workforce development, safety, and technical excellence.

Graham Leach, Johnathan Scott, Robert Verrill, Nathan Robinson, Neil Foster, and Anthony Lloyd attended the specialist programme, designed to enhance their rigging knowledge, practical capability, and compliance with industry standards. The course provides advanced instruction in lifting operations, rigging principles, safety legislation, planning and execution of complex lifting tasks.

We remain dedicated to developing skilled people who can meet the evolving demands of the industry, and this latest cohort reflects our ongoing commitment to professional growth and technical advancement.

Roaring Success: Honoured at ExxonMobil’s Prestigious Tiger Awards

Above and Beyond is the organisation’s refreshed Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) recognition programme.

Introduced as an evolution of the former Good Better How scheme, it highlights individuals who demonstrate exceptional courage, care and commitment in protecting colleagues and promoting safe behaviours. More than a name change, the programme is designed to build a culture where meaningful recognition is part of everyday working life, celebrating those who consistently go the extra mile to make a positive difference. For our UK Offshore Sector colleagues, this aligns with our Safer Together Awards.

INCLUSION Give to Gain: Commemorating International Women’s Day International Women’s Day (IWD) is recognised annually on 8th March. It is a day to celebrate women’s achievements and highlight the need for equality. This year’s theme was #GivetoGain, encouraging a mindset of generosity and collaboration. Supporting one another, creating opportunities for all and enabling women to thrive.

As part of this year’s #GivetoGain theme, we spotlighted incredible women across our region who volunteered to share a piece of wisdom from their own careers. These included insights shaped by experience, resilience and a commitment to lifting others up. By supporting one another, creating opportunities for all and championing environments where women can thrive, we strengthen not only each other but the future we build together.

Spotlighting Our Apprentices National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) 2026 took place from 9th-15th February, a UK‑wide celebration that showcases the positive impact apprenticeships have on individuals, employers and the wider economy. The theme for NAW 2026, Skills for Life, highlighted how apprenticeships equip people with valuable, long‑term capabilities that support successful careers and strengthen businesses.

With our workforce supported by a strong team of apprentices, we were proud to support this campaign, highlighting their journeys and the strengths they bring to our business.

Scan Me Celebrating Neurodiversity and Building a Workplace Where Everyone Can Thrive 16th-20th March marked Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a global initiative designed to recognise the strengths neurodivergent people bring to work and to challenge the misconceptions that often surround neurodiversity.

Let’s celebrate difference - and continue building an environment where everyone can thrive.

Throughout this week, we signposted our people to internal resources such as the CALM Neurodiversity Guide and the Neurodiversity section of the CALM Managers Toolkit, offering practical, everyday guidance for inclusive conversations and ways of working.

VOICE Your Ideas, Our Future: Introducing the Employee Suggestion Form We recognise that having a voice and giving feedback is not just about an annual survey. Your feedback, suggestions and experiences are important to share in real time and we want to listen to you and be able to respond promptly.

It’s time to get those ideas flowing! Do you have a suggestion that could make our workplace even better?

Therefore, we are launching a dedicated Employee Suggestion Feedback Form. Your input helps us improve how we work together - building a more engaging, inclusive, and positive workplace culture.

VOICE Employee Engagement Survey: “You Said We Did” Update Last year, we ran our second UK & Ireland Employee Engagement Survey, ‘Your Say’. The results gave us a deeper understanding of your experiences at Altrad.

Inclusive culture and workplace for all DEI Steering Committee & Champions: 2026 Action Plan The DEI SteerCo and network of champions have been busy creating 2026 action plans to ensure our Inclusive cultures and workplaces thrive.

ENGAGEMENT Time to Talk Day: Continuing the Conversation Time to Talk Day 2026 on the 5th February brought people together across the business to spark meaningful conversations about mental health, reminding us that one conversation can change a life.

The day encouraged open, stigma free dialogue and helped people feel more comfortable seeking support when they need it, and was a reminder of the message at the heart of our wellbeing focus: Make Mental Health More Visible.

As part of our ongoing commitment to wellbeing, we used the day to highlight some of the recent the tools available to our people across Altrad.

Altrad X CALM Microsite Our CALM microsite offers practical guidance, signposting and emotional wellbeing resources.

Our people can access these resources using the password ‘Altrad365’.

The CALMZone App The CALMZone App provides onthe-go support, self help strategies, and relaxation tools to help manage stress and maintain wellbeing.

Keep the Conversation Going

From Cumbria to the BBC’s Gladiators Arena Meet Finn Hutton, a coded welder currently part of Altrad’s outage team at Torness Power Station, who has been on an incredible journey, from Cumbria to competing on Gladiators in Sheffield.

When most of us watch Gladiators, we sit on the sofa thinking, “That looks tough…” Finn watched the last series and thought, “I could do that.” And that single thought, backed by a nudge from someone who knew his potential and had seen his success in CrossFit and Hyrox, launched an adventure he’ll never forget.

We’re incredibly proud of Finn and have loved every moment of cheering him on, from his Cumbrian successes to his standout challenges and all those unforgettable Gladiators moments he brought to the arena.

Time to Talk Day reinforced how powerful even a simple check in can be and these conversations shouldn’t be limited to one day.

Every day is a good day to ask: “How are you really?”

THE SAFETY SPOT: HSE IN FOCUS Q1 Safety Campaign – Safety From the System Safety From the System is about making sure the equipment, processes, and communication channels we rely on every day are strong, reliable, and ready to protect us.

When these systems work well, we prevent fires, spills, exposures, and other major incidents. Most importantly, everyone goes home safe.

Why It Matters Incidents often happen when several barriers fail at once.

Strengthening these systems reduces the risk of serious events across our sites.

Our Aim To ensure hazardous energy and dangerous substances are controlled through systems that are understood, checked, and consistently used - every shift, every job.

On occasion the theme may differ for our Offshore colleagues – watch out for more information from your relevant HSE Lead.
