Welcome to your new interactive magazine Following the launch of DRIVE, our new bespoke employee engagement platform, it’s a pleasure to welcome you to the first ever edition of our quarterly internal magazine, DRIVE News.

This is a proud moment for us all. We now have a dedicated space to celebrate our people, share the brilliant work happening every day and spotlight the achievements that make Altrad special.

DRIVE News has been created for you. Inside, you will find real stories of innovation, teamwork, development and care. You will hear from colleagues whose passion drives our success, discover projects shaping our future and see just how much pride we have in the work you do.

The magazine will be available every quarter in a digital format for everyone with an Altrad email address. Larger sites will also receive printed copies. For our frontline teams, we have created a shorter version designed for toolbox talks and team briefings.

In these opening pages, you will learn what our new employee engagement platform DRIVE is, why it plays such an important role in the development of our culture, and how it brings all of our people related activity together in one place to support the way we work.

Spotlight on Early Careers Success We are delighted to share that Cameron Calder has been awarded the prestigious TWI Student Award.

The TWI Student of the Year Award is an award presented by The Welding Institute (TWI), recognising exceptional apprentices and students in welding, fabrication, and related engineering fields.

Now in his second year of the Asset Management Technical Apprenticeship Scheme and based within the Non-Destructive Testing department in Renfrew, Scotland, Cameron continues to impress both colleagues and tutors alike. Cameron’s outstanding dedication and achievement saw him take home an annual student award at the recent TWI Scottish Branch dinner. This latest accolade highlights the exceptional commitment he showed during his first full time year at Glasgow Clyde College, where he achieved an “A” pass in his HNC Mechanical Engineering and completed ‘Performing Engineering Operations Level 2’ to an exemplary standard.

The standard of competition was exceptionally high, making Cameron’s achievement a real testament to his hard work, attitude, and drive. A fantastic foundation for what promises to be a brilliant career ahead.

Meet the Future of Client Services: Joanna & Lachie Joanna Naing and Lachie MacLeod are the latest graduates to join the Client Services team, each bringing fresh energy and a modern outlook to the way we work.

Joanna is nearing the end of her two-year graduate programme and will soon step into a fulltime role within the team. Her rotations across Client Services, Proposals, Estimating, Marketing and Communications, Strategy, plus her upcoming placement at PX St. Fergus Gas Terminal in Scotland, have given her a strong, well-rounded understanding of the business.

Lachie, who joined Altrad through the AIS acquisition, is following a similar path. With several placements still ahead, he’s steadily building a broad base of experience before moving into his permanent position.

Together, Joanna and Lachie have injected some youthful energy into the department.

More importantly, they’ve brought new ideas, fresh perspectives, and a forwardthinking mindset that reflects exactly what the business needs as it evolves.

Connecting With Tomorrow’s Talent

Upskilling in Action

We were delighted to support a recent Career Talk hosted at St. Michael’s Church of England High School in Tipton.

Our Tipton training facility recently welcomed six colleagues to commence an intensive six‑week Upskilling Rigging Course, further strengthening Altrad’s commitment to workforce development, safety, and technical excellence.

Scott Ives, 1st-year welder, and Jake Harper, 1st-year pipefitter, ran a virtual welding application and plastic pipe construction activity, engaging students and giving them practical insights into the skills used across our industry.

students explored different industries and the career pathways available to them over the four sessions.

The event was STEM-focused and students gained insights into: • Altrad and the wide range of career opportunities available • A day in the life of an apprentice • Qualifications required, how to apply and what skills, interests and ambitions make a good apprentice

Graham Leach, Johnathan Scott, Robert Verrill, Nathan Robinson, Neil Foster, and Anthony Lloyd attended the specialist programme, designed to enhance their rigging knowledge, practical capability, and compliance with industry standards. The course provides advanced instruction in lifting operations, rigging principles, safety legislation, planning and execution of complex lifting tasks.

We remain dedicated to developing skilled people who can meet the evolving demands of the industry, and this latest cohort reflects our ongoing commitment to professional growth and technical advancement.

Early career engagement plays an important role in building interest in our industry, raising awareness of the opportunities available, and challenging gender stereotypes. We are committed to investing time and resources into developing our future talent.

Celebrating Those Who Go Above and Beyond Above and Beyond is the organisation’s refreshed Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) recognition programme.

Introduced as an evolution of the former Good Better How scheme, it highlights individuals who demonstrate exceptional courage, care and commitment in protecting colleagues and promoting safe behaviours. More than a name change, the programme is designed to build a culture where meaningful recognition is part of everyday working life, celebrating those who consistently go the extra mile to make a positive difference. For our UK Offshore Sector colleagues, this aligns with our Safer Together Awards.

February’s Above and Beyond Winner

Congratulations to the Essar Scaffolding Team as January’s Above and Beyond winners.

Well done to Oliver Humphrey, an Apprentice Pipe Fitter based at Cottam CDC, in England, who was recognised as February’s winner.

The team, made up of James Gallwey, Nicholas Marsh, Jon Paul Glover, Darren Walsh, Tony Kenny, Daniel Sergeant, and David Morton, were working at the Energy Recovery Plant (ERP) unit at Stanlow Oil Refinery (North Site) in England. When preparing for their next scaffolding job on site, the team detected a strong odour of solvent/paint fumes inside the vessel.

Exercising their Stop Work Authority, all activities were stopped and immediately reported allowing for a full review and corrective action was undertaken.

This incident demonstrates effective safety leadership and the correct application of Stop Work Authority. We extend our thanks to the team for their commitment to keeping each other safe.

During the installation of a new exchanger, the scaffold was modified by a third‑party scaffold contractor to support the work. Following the change, the scaffold was tagged with restricted access controls, introducing additional working‑at‑height requirements. Oliver challenged this with the site manager, noting that the work pack did not include this type of activity. Rather than proceeding with the additional controls, it was agreed the scaffold would be partially stripped and rebuilt so that a green tag could be applied, confirming it was safe and fit for purpose.

Congratulations, this was an excellent example of a young team member exercising his Stop Work Authority.

Back Office Hero: Kylie Webster

A Smooth Switch for Thermal Payroll

The work undertaken within the station’s office and reception often takes place quietly in the background compared with other high‑visibility activities at Ratcliffe Power Station, England. Yet this work is essential to keeping operations running smoothly, supporting the Site Decommissioning Programme.

We are celebrating a smooth and successful transition from our old payroll process to the new Hours to Cash (H2C) approach.

Kylie Webter, Administration Supervisor is making a significant contribution to both the Site Decommissioning Programme and the wider Uniper business, playing a pivotal role in coordinating day‑to‑day activities, supporting operational efficiencies, and ensuring standards are consistently upheld. Whether she is supporting front‑of‑house operations, leading project‑based tasks, or driving improvements behind the scenes, Kylie demonstrates dedication, ownership, and a strong commitment to doing things the right way.

Our Thermal Admin team played a vital role in making this happen. Despite two weeks of parallel runs, effectively doubling the workload, right before the shorter and more demanding Christmas 2025 payroll deadlines, the team pulled together under pressure.

Thanks to this collective effort, both our monthly and weekly payrolls are now fully managed through the H2C process, an impressive achievement.

Roaring Success: Honoured at ExxonMobil’s Prestigious Tiger Awards Luke Fearon, Site Supervisor for the UK Offshore Sector’s ExxonMobil Fawley Site Team, has been honoured with a prestigious Tiger Award. The Tiger Awards recognise exceptional dedication, professionalism and the outstanding contributions made by ExxonMobil’s contractor partners, qualities Luke consistently demonstrated throughout 2025.

In his role at Fawley, Luke showed unwavering commitment to maintaining high standards across the site. His leadership, attention to detail and proactive approach played a key role in supporting safe, efficient and high-quality operations. The positive impact of his efforts has been clearly felt across the team, making this recognition both fitting and well deserved.

Reflecting on the honour, Luke shared his appreciation for the collective effort behind the award: “It felt great to win the award and be recognised for contributions to the Fawley site. But I wouldn’t be able to win an award without the whole team who worked so hard in 2025.”

Luke’s achievement is a testament not only to his personal dedication but also to the strength of collaboration across the Fawley team.

Give to Gain: Commemorating International Women’s Day International Women’s Day (IWD) is recognised annually on 8th March. It is a day to celebrate women’s achievements and highlight the need for equality. This year’s theme was #GivetoGain, encouraging a mindset of generosity and collaboration. Supporting one another, creating opportunities for all and enabling women to thrive.

As part of this year’s #GivetoGain theme, we spotlighted incredible women across our region who volunteered to share a piece of wisdom from their own careers. These included insights shaped by experience, resilience and a commitment to lifting others up. By supporting one another, creating opportunities for all and championing environments where women can thrive, we strengthen not only each other but the future we build together.

IWD Roundtable Discussion Karl Bramwell, DEI SteerCo Sponsor, and Katherine Webster, DEI SteerCo Chair, invited a group of key influencers, representatives and allies from across Altrad to a virtual round‑table discussion to explore Inclusive Workplaces, Gender Equality and Barriers to Success in our industry. The discussion was framed around our Attract, Develop and Retain pillars, which guide how we bring people into Altrad, support their growth and create a Culture of Care.

Celebrating Neurodiversity and Building a Workplace Where Everyone Can Thrive 16th-20th March marked Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a global initiative designed to recognise the strengths neurodivergent people bring to work and to challenge the misconceptions that often surround neurodiversity.

Let’s celebrate difference - and continue building an environment where everyone can thrive.

How We Supported Neurodiversity Celebration Week: We delivered a focused programme of learning and awareness designed to help our people better understand neurodiversity and the strengths it brings to our organisation, hosting two dedicated Log in & Learn sessions.

The first was a spotlight on Neurodiversity Celebration Week, introducing common neurodivergent profiles and strengths‑based thinking, offering practical ways to create more inclusive working environments.

Later in the week, the topics of Supporting Neurodiverse Families featured a guest speaker from Daisy Chain, highlighting how neurodiversity can shape family life, caring responsibilities and wellbeing, as well as helping colleagues recognise the broader contexts many people navigate. Alongside these sessions, we signposted our people to internal resources such as the CALM Neurodiversity Guide and the Neurodiversity section of the CALM Managers Toolkit, offering practical, everyday guidance for inclusive conversations and ways of working.

Spotlighting Our Apprentices National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) 2026 took place from 9th-15th February, a UK‑wide celebration that showcases the positive impact apprenticeships have on individuals, employers and the wider economy. The theme for NAW 2026, Skills for Life, highlighted how apprenticeships equip people with valuable, long‑term capabilities that support successful careers and strengthen businesses.

Scottish Apprenticeship Week runs separately each year, falling on 2nd–6th March in 2026, and focuses specifically on celebrating apprentices across Scotland, recognising the vital role they play in developing a skilled, future‑ready workforce. It provides an important opportunity to highlight Scotland’s talent pipeline and the meaningful contribution apprentices make in industry every day.

With our workforce supported by a strong team of apprentices, we were proud to support both initiatives, highlighting their journeys and the strengths they bring to our business.

Townhalls: Strengthening Communication Across Altrad Townhalls are a great way to connect with our people across Altrad. Senior Leaders value the opportunity to come together with teams and share insights during these sessions, celebrating the successes we achieve together and encouraging open and honest conversation.

Townhalls in Action: Digital Team In January, the Digital Team met for their first townhall of 2026. Paul Lloyd, Chief Digital Officer, hosted the session with over 60 people in attendance.

Connecting teams spread across the UK, Ireland, Denmark, Norway & Poland was no barrier for Paul, utilising a fully digital experience online to ensure maximum attendance and engagement.

The session featured a mix of team, department and business updates with team recognition and celebration firmly at the core of the session. Paul took the lead and was joined by a range of speakers invited to provide business insights and deepen team connections and awareness of Altrad activities.

Our Communities, Our Commitment With only one in three children aged 8 to 18 enjoying reading, the lowest level in twenty years, early reading support has never been more crucial.

Chapter One is stepping up to meet this challenge head on, championing a model of personalised, one to one support that guides pupils through every stage of their primary reading journey.

Since 2024, 20 dedicated volunteers supporting the UK Offshore Sector’s Sellafield contract have been working with Chapter One to support pupils across Cumbria. And the impact is already clear.

In the 2024-25, the team has delivered 109 volunteering hours and 246 reading sessions since the start of this school year, each one a small but powerful step toward building confidence, fluency and a lifelong love of reading.

And this is only the beginning.

With momentum building and more stories waiting to be told, both volunteers and pupils are set for an even brighter chapter in 2026, making meaningful and lasting change.

Teesside Apprentices Making an Impact: On Site and in the Community Our UK Offshore Sector’s Teesside Apprentices are not only building the foundations of their future careers, they’re also playing an active role in strengthening the community around them. Supporting apprentices is vital to the longterm success of our industry, and seeing them apply their developing skills to benefit local projects, demonstrates the real value they bring from day one.

Working in partnership with Tees Valley Wildlife Trust and The Junction, the team lent their hands to the ongoing transformation of the Red Lion Street Community Garden in Redcar. Taking on a variety of renovation tasks, they contributed to revitalising this important community space, helping create an area that local residents can enjoy and feel proud of.

Their enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment shone through at every stage. This project is a great example of how apprenticeships go beyond technical learning; developing confidence, responsibility and a strong sense of community purpose.

This is helping create a greener, more welcoming space for the Redcar community and their work reflects the positive impact apprentices can make both on and off the job.

From Cumbria to the BBC’s Gladiators Arena We met with Finn Hutton, a coded welder who is currently part of Altrad’s outage team at Torness Power Station, to get more details behind his journey from Cumbria to filming Gladiators in Sheffield.

When most of us watch Gladiators, we sit on the sofa thinking, “That looks tough…” Finn watched the last series and thought, “I could do that.” And that single thought, backed by a nudge from someone who knew his potential and had seen his success in CrossFit and Hyrox, launched an adventure he’ll never forget: Gladiators may be an hour of action-packed weekend TV, but what is it like behind the scenes?

“It’s pretty intense,” Finn laughs. “Multiple eight hour filming days, adrenaline highs to enormous adrenaline dumps, just to get one hour of TV footage.”

Training Like a Machine If you thought Finn just strolled into the arena, think again.

His daily routine? Æ Breakfast Æ Work Æ Two hours in the gym every night Æ Dinner Æ Sleep “Bit boring,” he admits, “but you need to be consistent with sleep, nutrition, and training if you want to do well.”

“If you want to be the best, you’ve got to train like the best.” Turns out Gladiators doesn’t just require muscle, it requires discipline.

The Moment Everyone’s Talking About: Taking Down GIANT One of Finn’s biggest highlights came early, the Duel against GIANT, known for being intimidating, undefeated, and, well… Giant!

A Moment of Pride Outside the fun and fitness, this journey meant something deeper for Finn. Representing Cumbria on a national stage, proving the region produces some serious talent. And receiving support from the KDP5 team (Key Delivery Partners on Programme and Project Partners (PPP) projects at Sellafield in England) who ensured he could work around taking time off to film whilst there.

“Walking into that arena with the lights, the crowd, and the Gladiators opposite me was surreal,” Finn reflects.

“Opening the series was an honour, and something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.”

“Being on Gladiators gave me the chance to show that there is real strength, determination, and talent in Cumbria.”

We’re incredibly proud of Finn and have loved every moment of cheering him on, from his Cumbrian successes to his standout challenges and all those unforgettable Gladiators moments he brought to the arena.

Time to Talk Day: Continuing the Conversation Time to Talk Day 2026 on the 5th February brought people together across the business to spark meaningful conversations about mental health, reminding us that one conversation can change a life.

The day encouraged open, stigma free dialogue and helped people feel more comfortable seeking support when they need it, and was a reminder of the message at the heart of our wellbeing focus at Altrad:

Make Mental Health More Visible As part of our ongoing commitment to wellbeing, we used the day to highlight some of the recent the tools available to our people across Altrad and including our new campaign video, all developed in partnership with Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

Altrad X CALM Microsite Our CALM microsite offers practical guidance, signposting and emotional wellbeing resources. Our people can access these resources using the password ‘Altrad365’.

The CALMZone App The CALMZone App provides on-the-go support, self help strategies, and relaxation tools to help manage stress and maintain wellbeing.

No subscriptions. No paywalls. No ads. Just accessible support for anyone, anytime. This is what real prevention looks like: getting the right help to the right people at the right time, empowering individuals before negative thoughts have the chance to grow, and giving everyone a simple way to look after their mental wellbeing.

Keep the Conversation Going Time to Talk Day reinforced how powerful even a simple check in can be and these conversations shouldn’t be limited to one day.

We have evolved from the Golden Rules and developed the Altrad Life-Saving Actions which encompass situations identified as frequently encountered through our daily activities. These actions are about driving our vision towards promoting a positive safety culture through enhancing our awareness of safe working practices, and an unwavering belief that all work-related injuries and ill health are preventable. The objective of these actions is to engage, educate, and influence our behaviours, moving towards accomplishing our vision.

To achieve safe working practices, the Altrad Life-Saving Actions must be owned and practised by all Altrad people, from senior leadership, site project management to frontline workers.

The expectation is that all our people and contractors commit to the Altrad Life-Saving Actions, as they are fundamental to preventing incidents and significant events within our daily operations.

The Safety Spot: HSE in Focus A Strong Start to 2026 January gave us the chance to reset, reconnect, and put our commitments into action. As routines settled back into place after the festive break, teams across the business quickly demonstrated that our focus on safety remains as strong as ever.

From the first week of the year, Safe Start conversations were happening everywhere; on sites, in offices, and across virtual teams. Colleagues took time to pause, think ahead, and re-establish the habits that keep us all safe. These early moments showed a real sense of care and collaboration.

Looking back, January set a solid foundation for the months ahead. The commitment shown across the organisation has already shaped the tone for 2026, a year where working smart, staying safe, and supporting one another will remain central to our success.

Q1 Safety Campaign – Safety From the System Safety From the System is about making sure the equipment, processes, and communication channels we rely on every day are strong, reliable, and ready to protect us.

When these systems work well, we prevent fires, spills, exposures, and other major incidents. Most importantly, everyone goes home safe.

Why It Matters Incidents often happen when several barriers fail at once, such as: • Worn or poorly maintained equipment • Processes that don’t match real operations • Stored energy not properly isolated • Out of date drawings or procedures • Communication gaps between shifts • Changes not fully understood or managed Strengthening these systems reduces the risk of serious events across our sites.

Our Aim To ensure hazardous energy and dangerous substances are controlled through systems that are understood, checked, and consistently used - every shift, every job.
