Welcome to your employee magazine At Altrad, celebrating our people is part of who we are. It’s always inspiring to see both our people and our company being recognised, internally and externally, across the industries we operate in. This September, we launched our very first DRIVE Month, taking over the calendar with a programme designed to inspire learning, reflection and personal growth, all rooted in our values. At the heart of DRIVE Month was a clear goal; to create meaningful opportunities for development across the business. With a packed schedule of sessions, inspiring guest speakers and a memorable evening event, there truly was something for everyone. DRIVE Month marked a new chapter in how we engage, grow and connect as a team, and we’re excited to build on its success in the months ahead.

Additionally, this quarter has highlighted the incredible impact we can make beyond our day-to-day roles. The passion and dedication shown through our corporate social responsibility efforts have been truly inspiring. From volunteering time to supporting local initiatives, our teams have demonstrated a deep commitment to giving back.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed, you’ve helped strengthen our communities and make a real difference where it matters most.

As we approach the tail end of our busiest operational period, it’s vital that we continue to look out for ourselves and each other. Staying vigilant, completing thorough risk assessments, and carrying out last-minute checks before starting work are just as important as delivering a quality job. Progressing as the UK Offshore Sector, together We’re proud to share that phase one of our transformation journey has been successfully completed, with an impressive 190 actions delivered. This milestone marks a shift in focus as we move confidently into phase two, moving our focus from transformation to progression, as we operate as the UK Offshore Sector business within Altrad.

All plant, equipment and PPE are now fully managed by the dedicated Plant & Equipment Team based in Aberdeen.

Our review of digital systems is now complete. A rollout session for functional heads took place at the beginning of October, including an overview of key timelines. Each function will receive direct updates as implementation progresses.

This next phase is all about building momentum. We’re laying the foundations for a stronger, more unified way of working and your involvement is vital. Please stay engaged, ask questions and look out for updates relevant to your function. Together, we’re driving progress with purpose and pride.

We’re on the Move: From the IMS to AIMS Altrad Integrity Services is currently transitioning from the existing Integrated Management System (IMS) to Altrad’s Integrated Management System (AIMS), marking a key step in aligning with the wider Altrad framework and strengthening how we manage quality and compliance.

The first phase, focused on reviewing existing documents, was scheduled for completion by 21 October. Following this, IMS requests will no longer be accepted, and legacy AIS documents will begin migrating into AIMS under the guidance of the Quality Team. Documents intended for Altrad templates must be finalised by the end of October, otherwise they will be transferred in their current form.

Once migration is complete, relevant team members will receive access to AIMS along with training to support the transition. At that point, IMS documents will be archived.

We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to review their management system documents to ensure they are accurate, relevant and ready for the move to AIMS.

One Brand, One Business: Moving Forward as Altrad We’re proud to announce that we are now operating as a unified business under the Altrad name, bringing greater clarity and consistency to how we present ourselves both internally and externally.

From now on, the Altrad logo will be used across all external branding. You’ll begin to see updates to email signatures, communication mailboxes, social media channels, marketing and presentation materials. This change reflects our unified identity and strengthens our presence across the industry.

Clarifying Our Brand Usage

Internal Identity: Our business unit is now known as the UK Offshore Sector. While many of you deliver services across various industries, this internal naming helps align our structure and communications within the wider Altrad organisation. It does not limit the scope of our work.

Quality Services Branding: To maintain impartiality and independence, the Quality Services team will use a distinct logo and brand identity for client-facing materials. This ensures clarity and neutrality in the services we provide.

However, for branded workwear and PPE, the Altrad logo will be used consistently across all areas of the business, including Quality Services.

Here’s how our brand will be applied across different areas of the business: Altrad Integrity Services: This name and logo will no longer be used for general communications or branding. It will be retained only for legal and contractual purposes, such as formal documentation, contracts or regulatory submissions. For all other communications, we refer to ourselves simply as Altrad.

A Seat at the Table: The BINDT Council Graeme Falconer, NDT Technical Manager has been elected to the Council of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT).

The council serves as the governing body of the Institute, fulfilling the role of both board of directors and trustees. It is responsible for setting BINDT’s strategic direction, ensuring robust governance, and overseeing its work as a professional membership organisation and registered charity.

Let’s hear from Graeme:

“Being part of the council gives me a real opportunity to contribute to the Institute’s direction while also ensuring the voices and needs of working technicians are represented.

BINDT’s PCN certification scheme is the benchmark for NDT qualifications in the UK and is internationally recognised. It enables technicians to demonstrate their competence and serves as a key requirement for roles not only within Altrad, but across the wider industry. By sitting on the council, as well as some of BINDT’s technical committees, I can help shape how that scheme continues to evolve.

For me, it’s about making sure certification, training and professional development reflect the realities of the job, not just the theory, and that our people are set up to succeed in the field as well as on paper.”

Spotlight on Success: New Opportunities Kieran Walker, Project Engineer I joined the company in 2023 and work as a Project Engineer within the Industrial Cleaning Department, as part of the Shutdown Vessels Team on the Harbour Energy Contract.

My responsibilities include the planning and preparation of various turnarounds (TARs) and major outages across multiple offshore assets. This role has given me the opportunity to collaborate closely with a wide range of contractors across disciplines such as asset integrity, mechanical and inspection, alongside our own industrial leaning department.

It was a great experience to be involved in the execution phase of a work scope I had helped plan and prepare, and to gain first-hand insight into the roles our offshore teams perform and the environment they operate in.

This year, I had the exciting opportunity to take my first trip offshore and I wanted to share a bit about the experience:

One of the highlights was getting to navigate my way around the different decks aboard Britannia and finally seeing, up close, the vessels we work on and which I prepare work for onshore.

How did you feel about going offshore for the first time?

Going offshore is something I have been eager to do since joining the company but I don’t think I have ever been so anxious about something in my life.

I arrived at the heliport and met up with the team I would be working with and straight away, both Norman and Jordyn were incredibly welcoming and really helped settle my nerves.

They helped me navigate my way through the checkin, security checks, pre-flight brief and boarding the chopper. I’m extremely thankful for the help and patience they both showed me. By the time I was on the chopper and we were ready to depart, most of my nerves had disappeared and I was ready to crack on with the offshore scope of work.

What did your days look like and what work scopes were you carrying out?

What aspects of the experience did you find most rewarding?

Being offshore gave me a whole new appreciation for the scale and complexity of the ongoing operations, there is so many different parts operating at once. That kind of hands-on experience was surreal and left a lasting impression on me.

What advice would you give to any of our workforce that may be in a similar circumstance soon?

Embrace the opportunity. Whilst going offshore may come across as intimidating or scary, it was actually one of the best experiences I have had and gave me some incredible learning opportunities I wouldn’t have gotten just being in the office.

Everyone I met offshore were incredibly supportive and welcoming and ultimately made the trip better than I could have anticipated. I am already looking forward to my next opportunity to mobilise offshore.

The team was mobilised to carry out High Pressure Retro-Jetting on an Inlet Heater Tube Bundle onboard the Britannia Platform. Our days offshore started at 06:30 and this was always kicked off with an interactive safety meeting, led by one of the Altrad Focal Points.

We would then proceed to discuss our day ahead, take out our permits to work and hold our toolbox talks prior to heading to our worksite. Across the rest of the trip, our day-to-day tasks differed. This ranged from rigging up / rigging down our plant and equipment, co-operating with Industrial Hygienists (benzene monitoring), specialist cleaning operations and backloading.

With it being my first trip, I really enjoyed partaking in all the different aspects of our work and I was learning something new every day.

#NoWrongPath: More Than Just Results

Beyond the Classroom: Our Partnerships

We proudly support the #NoWrongPath campaign, a timely initiative launched around exam results season to remind young people that exam outcomes don’t define their future. There are many routes to success, there is no wrong path.

As part of our ongoing partnership with Developing Young Workforce (DYW), Altrad’s HR Manager for Shared Services and Learning & Development, Emma Fergusson participated in an energy Interview session with pupils at Bucksburn Academy.

This year, we took a fresh approach by hosting a roundtable discussion at our Aberdeen office.

Colleagues came together to share personal stories, reflect on changes in education and explore how their careers have evolved over time. It was a powerful reminder that success can take many forms and every journey is different.

As an element of pupil’s skills and industry development class they had been tasked to find out information regarding different roles in the Energy sector. Emma shared knowledge with the pupils on a career within HR touching on all different avenues including, Operations, Administration, Reward, Recruitment, Engagement and Logistics. This allowed pupils to ask a variety of questions and consider different career paths within the industry.

Discussions ended with summarising advice we would share with students: • Don’t compare yourself, every path is unique • Transferable skills and personal qualities matter • Choose a career you truly enjoy We firmly believe that when it comes to careers, there’s no single right path and the diverse journeys of our colleagues across the business are a testament to that.

Emma, stated: “The Interviews were a great way to engage with pupils, being led by them to ask questions that they deemed were relevant to discover more about the workplace. The best question asked was “so do you need to be an expert in everything?” to which the response was “absolutely nobody is an expert in everything!!”. The session was great and we really hope it helped pupils consider a career path they might not have thought of previously.”

We continue our partnership with DYW and local schools to help in our communities and encourage the next generation into our industry.

Level Up: Developing Our People Altrad’s Elev-8 and Xcelerator courses are designed to strengthen our internal leadership pipeline by nurturing and developing high-potential operational talent. The programme aims to broaden our bench strength, ensuring a robust pool of capable individuals ready to step into future leadership and manager roles.

They were created to give our people the right skills at the right stage of their career. Each programme is built to deliver real benefits, whether that’s improving confidence in managing teams, learning how to lead projects effectively or developing the ability to influence at an executive level.

“I was initially sceptical about what I could gain from the Elav8 leadership course, but it far exceeded my expectations. The course was an eye-opening experience that helped me better my understanding of myself and how I interact with others.

Behind the Role: Career Spotlight Evelyn McCann, Learning & Development Co-ordinator Evelyn recently made the transition to Learning and Development (L&D) Co-ordinator, a shift that marks a new chapter in her professional journey. We caught up with her to find more about her progression, experiences so far and how she’s settling into her new role: How are you finding the adjustment to your new role?

My ongoing responsibilities include:

The transition has been very positive and a great learning experience. There has been a lot of new information and processes to take on, but I’m enjoying the challenge and gradually finding my feet.

• Catch-ups with graduates and apprentices

Each week, I’m becoming more comfortable with my responsibilities and I can already see how the role is helping me grow both professionally and personally.

I’m grateful for the support of those around me and I’m excited to continue building my confidence, expanding my knowledge and contributing more effectively as I gain further experience.

Can you give us an oversight into your role and responsibilities?

I work closely with both the L&D and HR Shared Services (HRSS) team, which gives me exposure to a broad range of responsibilities such as the coordination and administration of all L&D activities, including the P&D process, 9 Box and Succession Planning.

Additionally, I play an active role in coordinating the graduate programme, supporting the implementation of LXP modules, overseeing the administration of inhouse and external training courses as well as managing activities with our external education providers.

One of the main skills I’ve been able to bring across is strong organisational and coordination abilities. In my previous role, I managed multiple tasks and projects at the same time, which has really helped me stay on top of the continued varied responsibilities in this role.

What are you most excited about moving forward?

I’m really excited about the opportunity to connect with and engage a wider range of people in this role. I have many opportunities to learn from those around me and I’m looking forward to building confidence while developing my skills through these interactions and new challenges.

Within the HRSS team, I provide cover as needed, taking on administration responsibilities that range from payroll, onboarding, offboarding to a variety of other related tasks. I also continue to support the wider HR team by assisting with administrative duties for ad-hoc projects as and when needed.

How have your day-to-day responsibilities changed?

My day-to-day responsibilities have shifted significantly from my previous role. I now take a more proactive approach, focusing on planning upcoming activities while continuing to manage regular daily and weekly ad-hoc tasks.

The new role covers a range of activities, some reoccurring weekly or monthly and others as needed throughout the year depending on key processes and activities.

Triple Triumph: Industry Shortlistings Altrad has recently received nominations from several respected industry awarding bodies. OEUK Awards This event celebrates innovation and excellence in the offshore energy sector. We’re finalists in two categories: • Neighbour of the Year: Recognising our commitment to ethical practices, sustainability and social impact. We’re honoured to be shortlisted for the second year running.

• People & Culture: Celebrating organisations that foster inclusive, supportive environments. This reflects our five-year culture transformation and the incredible people driving it forward.

We’re up against strong competition in both categories, with the awards ceremony taking place on 20 November at P&J Live in Aberdeen.

Engineering Construction Industry (ECI) Training and Development Awards Organised by the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB), these awards bring together industry leaders and emerging talent to celebrate excellence in training and development. The prestigious ceremony takes place on the 6th of November in London.

We’re shortlisted in the Excellence in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Award, a recognition of our belief that diversity fuels innovation and that an inclusive environment is essential for long-term success.

Emerging Talent: 30 under 30 Each year, Aberdeen Young Professionals (AYP) unveils its prestigious 30 Under 30 list, a celebration of the city’s brightest young talent. These individuals are not only excelling in their careers but are also making a meaningful impact in their industries and communities.

Among this year’s honourees are Jamie Shingler, Rope Access Technician, and Craig Mann, Project Manager two outstanding members of our team whose dedication and achievements truly stand out.

Their recognition is a testament to the hard work, passion and values we champion across our business. We’re incredibly proud to see Jamie and Craig celebrated as part of this inspiring group of future leaders.

Craig shared, “Making the 30 under 30 list is fantastic; whilst we see our hard work and dedication recognised internally, it is huge to see this effort recognised by external bodies.”

Chartered Success: Achieving CMIOSH Status with IOSH Wayne Taylor, HSEQ Manager for England and Keith Jennings, HSEQ Advisor achieved Chartered Membership (CMIOSH) of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) through a new experiential route.

IOSH is the world’s largest chartered body for health and safety professionals. It is globally recognised for setting professional standards, providing guidance and supporting individuals working in occupational health and safety roles across all industries. CMIOSH is the highest level of professional recognition within IOSH, signifying competence, experience, and ongoing commitment to professional development.

The experiential route recognises experienced health and safety practitioners. Earning Chartered status through this pathway is no small feat, it involves a rigorous assessment process, including a detailed review of their career history, a peer review interview, and demonstration of ongoing continuous professional development and professional competence.

The success of Wayne and Keith not only marks a personal career milestone but also strengthens our organisation’s health and safety leadership and capability.

Apprenticeships: Fueling the Future Liam Hoggart, NDT Apprentice Technician, was recognised at the first Lavender International NDT Apprentice Recognition & Awards. This event recognised the bright future of our industry, shaped by the passionate individuals who are already making their mark.

Liam was named winner of the positive attitude accolade for his resilience and can-do spirit. Since joining Altrad last year, Liam has consistently demonstrated exceptional attention to detail, particularly in his reporting, and recently completed his PCN Level 2 Magnetic Particle Testing course with distinction.

Fueled by DRIVE: A Look Back at an Inspiring Month In September, we launched an ambitious calendar of DRIVE and HSEQ engagement activities across the UK. Over the course of the month, colleagues from every corner of the business came together to take part in a vibrant and varied programme designed to inspire, connect and empower employees. From immersive hands-on workshops and thought-provoking guest speaker sessions to dedicated wellbeing events, each activity was carefully curated to spark meaningful conversations and foster a deeper sense of collaboration and shared purpose.

At the heart of DRIVE Month was a clear and powerful goal - to create opportunities for learning, reflection and growth that are firmly rooted in our values. Whether it was exploring new ways to work safely and sustainably, strengthening team bonds or simply taking time to focus on personal wellbeing, every session contributed to a culture of continuous improvement and mutual support.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible energy and commitment of everyone involved. From those who planned and facilitated events to those who showed up with curiosity and enthusiasm, your contributions helped turn this vision into reality.

Most importantly, they took meaningful action to support those in need by contributing to our foodbank appeal for the Trussell Trust. This collective effort showcased the compassion and generosity at the heart of our culture, making a real difference in communities nationwide.

A special shout-out goes to our Harbour Energy Contract team, who went above and beyond, raising £365 through employee donations both onshore and offshore. They transformed this into much-needed food supplies, making a real difference for those facing hardship.

To round off the initiative, our Aberdeen Social Value team delivered over 220kg of donations to the local foodbank, an incredible effort that highlights the power of collective action and compassion.

Safer Together Awards: Celebrating Our People With over 110 nominations submitted for this year’s Annual Safer Together Awards, the passion, dedication and collaborative spirit of our people truly shone through. Following a thorough and thoughtful judging process, we were proud to unveil the final shortlist, a true testament to the remarkable efforts, innovation and teamwork demonstrated across our organisation.

Hard Hats & Highlights: Site Visits Galore!

Site visits are essential for building a deeper understanding of the operational environment and the roles our colleagues perform, while ensuring they are kept up to date will company activities. These visits provide valuable context that enhances planning, communication and collaboration.

Our HR Business Partner, Vikki Piper, has been on a dynamic series of site visits and what an insightful journey it’s been. From NuFarm to ConocoPhillips, Teesside, ESSAR, Centrica and Norfolk, Vikki has stepped beyond the screen to experience our operations first-hand. These visits have offered a valuable opportunity to connect with teams on the ground, gain a deeper understanding of their work and see our impact in action.

Vikki shared: “There’s something special about spending time on-site, chatting with employees over coffee breaks, seeing processes first hand, and feeling the pulse of daily operations. It’s in these moments that relationships are built, trust is earned, and transparency naturally follows. You can’t fully appreciate the dedication and expertise of our teams without being there, witnessing it, and sharing the experience.”

Vikki has also played a key role in coordinating site visits for both the Occupational Health and Compensation & Benefits teams. During their visit, the Compensation & Benefits team engaged with employees on topics such as pensions, the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), and the Smart Spending app. Meanwhile, Zoe and Emily from the Occupational Health team were offering Health MOTs, with a particular focus on heart health.

Vikki said: ‘Every visit reminds me of the simple truth: it’s all about the people.

Spending time with our teams and clients isn’t just about work, it sparks real conversations, new ideas and that shared “we’re in this together” vibe’.

Here’s to more face-to-face moments, chats that go beyond the usual, and hanging out with the people who keep everything moving.

Onboarding Centre: Supporting Excellence from Day One Earlier this year, we launched the Onboarding Centre at our Aberdeen facility, a dedicated space designed to promote a safe, inclusive and respectful culture that supports excellence in service delivery.

For employees, the centre provides a clear understanding of company expectations, available support, and practical learning to embed HSEQ principles. It ensures everyone is better prepared for offshore work, regardless of prior experience.

The centre helps our project and contract teams run with greater consistency, reduce incidents, strengthen understanding of HSEQ fundamentals and encourage consistent behaviours when representing Altrad. It also allows early intervention if individuals are not demonstrating the expected standards.

Clients benefit from improved platform safety, stronger team performance, trusted teams with solid HSEQ foundations and enhanced behaviours. The centre also contributes to a safer offshore environment and offers the flexibility to include client-specific content such as current campaign details.

The onboarding experience includes management introductions, itinerary briefings, HR and HSEQ engagement sessions, and practical modules tailored to offshore readiness.

Scan me to view Next Gen Ready: Shaping Futures Through Mentorship Throughout July, we had the privilege of hosting Career Ready mentee, Blair, for his work experience placement. From exploring electrical systems and cathodic protection to hands-on practice with machining, bolting and even rope access, Blair got stuck into every corner of the business. His curiosity, dedication and growth throughout the programme were a joy to witness.

During his placement, Blair developed valuable technical skills and gained firsthand experience of the power of collaboration and teamwork. He’s now preparing to take the next step in his career journey as he heads off to college.

Pushing Limits: NuFarm’s 3-for-3 Triathlon Challenge

Walking with Purpose: Celebrate Aberdeen Parade

This summer, colleagues from our NuFarm and Teesside teams set themselves an ambitious goal to complete three sprint triathlons in support of St Andrew’s Hospice in Grimsby.

On Saturday, 23rd August colleagues proudly took part in the Celebrate Aberdeen Parade for the second year running, walking alongside Clan Cancer Support.

In June, their journey began in Sheffield, continued through Windermere in July and concluded in Hartlepool in August. Each event pushed their physical and mental limits, but their determination and team spirit never faltered.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who donated, cheered from the sidelines and supported the team throughout their challenge. We’re thrilled to share that they raised over £1,400 for a truly worthy cause.

This year saw a fantastic turnout, with a vibrant mix of Clan employees, volunteers and corporate partners donning their signature purple t-shirts in aid of Clan.

The event was a powerful showcase of the incredible work being done by charities across Aberdeen, highlighting the vital support they provide to our community.

It was a truly uplifting celebration of compassion, collaboration and local spirit.

Well done to everyone who took part, your efforts will make a real difference!

Every Drop Counts: A Lifeline in Every Donation

From Hazards to Helping Hands: HSEQ at Bramble Brae Primary

In August, we welcomed NHS Grampian back to our Aberdeen facility to host a blood donation drive. A huge thank you to the 44 amazing employees who took time out of their day to donate.

Members of our HSEQ team volunteered their time to support our partner school, Bramble Brae Primary, in a hands-on community tidy-up. The team rolled up their sleeves for a day of gardening, weeding and planting.

In total, 41 pints of blood were collected, enough to help save or improve up to 132 lives across Scotland. Your generosity truly makes a difference.

Joining the effort were some enthusiastic pupils who took on the role of mini project managers, keeping the team motivated and making sure the work met their high standards!

This time, we were also joined by representatives from DKMS, who raise awareness for stem cell donations.

Thanks to their visit, 17 new donors signed up to potentially help those battling blood cancer and other life-threatening conditions.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and supported this life-saving initiative!

Beast Race 2025: Team Spirit, Mud and a Meaningful Impact!

For the third year in a row, 30 brave colleagues took on the challenge of the 10km Banchory Beast Race in support of Clan Cancer Support and they did it in true beast mode!

The course was packed with obstacles and plenty of mud, but thanks to team spirit, endurance and the encouragement of smiling faces and homemade sausge rolls at the finish line, our team successfully beat the beast!

Even more impressive, they raised over £7,000 in aid of Clan Cancer Support’s vital work in our community.

Shaping Futures: Altrad at AGCAS 2025 In September, colleagues attended the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services Scottish Graduate Fair hosted by the University of Strathclyde.

The event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with students and graduates from across the UK, many of whom are beginning to consider their next steps after university. With around 700 tickets sold for each day, attendance was strong and the atmosphere lively.

Our team had approximately 150 conversations with attendees who visited our stand, answering insightful questions and sharing information. We also gathered around 65 responses through our online form, helping us to better understand the interests and needs of those we engaged with.

This is a great example of engaging with local talent and promoting the various opportunities available within Altrad.

From the Big Screen to Big Support: Clan’s Hollywood Ball

Paws for a Cause: Supporting Immingham’s Dog Rescue

The red carpet was rolled out as the stars of Aberdeen stepped out in style for Clan Cancer Support’s Hollywood Ball and what a night it was!

Throughout August, our Humber Bank team collected items in support of Immingham Dog’s Home, a small but mighty rescue centre, located at the entrance to Killingholme.

As the headline sponsor, we were proud to support this incredible event, a highlight of Clan’s calendar.

The evening was filled with fun, laughter and powerful stories, offering a heartfelt reminder of the impact our fundraising has on those affected by cancer.

This year, we welcomed a second Altrad table, led

by Stuart Strachan, winner of our Lucky Squares competition, which raised £740.

Clan took the opportunity to thank our amazing colleagues for their outstanding fundraising, donations and unwavering support over the past two years. It was a night to remember, celebrating the real difference we’re making together.

This dedicated team provides a vital lifeline to dogs in need across North Lincolnshire, offering care, rehabilitation and the chance to find loving forever homes. Their mission is simple yet powerful, to create a safe and nurturing environment where every dog can heal and thrive.

The Safety Spot: HSEQ in Focus Now Live: HSE Engagement Scorecard We’re excited to announce that the HSE Engagement Scorecard officially launched in September!

This competition is a performance measurement tool designed to encourage participation across all offshore assets and onsite locations.

It provides every team with the opportunity to get involved and actively contribute towards building and sustaining a positive safety culture.

Safe Weight Limit for Offshore Travel The average weight of offshore workers in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) has increased to approximately 96.5kg, with 5% of personnel now exceeding 125kg. This rise presents safety challenges, particularly in emergency situations where evacuation and rescue equipment may be limited. HM Coastguard has advised that individuals above 124.7kg may not be safely winched from offshore installations.

Where did the Idea come from?

To address this, OEUK has introduced a recommended weight limit of 124kg for outbound offshore travel. This limit is based on helicopter rescue capacity and aims to improve safety across the sector. The change has been communicated with offshore employee representatives and is supported by key industry groups including Step Change in Safety and OEUK, in which Altrad actively participates.

Back in 2023, our Apache contract introduced an HSE Competition that delivered strong, measurable results across the contract. Some of the key learnings included:

From 1 November 2026, individuals weighing more than 124kg will no longer be permitted to travel offshore. Until then, travel remains permitted for those above the limit

This initiative is all about celebrating proactive engagement and driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices with a scoring criteria in place. Not only that, there is also the opportunity to win a charity donation prize: • 1st place - £750 • 2nd place - £500 • 3rd place - £250

• A reduction in the number of incidents • Improved quality and detail in observation cards • Stronger engagement and communication between teams Due to its success, we’ve now rolled out the competition across the entire business. This ensures equal opportunities for all employees, onshore and offshore, to participate and contribute to maintaining the outstanding safety standards we’ve set across all locations.

How will the competition be managed?

To encourage participation, contract teams will play an active role in promoting the competition and supporting monthly submissions from their respective areas.

A weighting formula has been introduced to ensure fairness across all locations, regardless of the number of personnel on board or on-site. This helps create a level playing field and ensures that all contributions are recognised equally.

HSEQ Advisors will be responsible for inputting the submitted data into the system, ensuring consistency and accuracy in tracking performance.

Roll out phases: OEUK has developed a phased rollout to support the transition. The introduction and awareness phase will run from 1 November 2025 to 31 January 2026, followed by a transition phase from 1 February to 31 October 2026.

Mandatory implementation begins on 1 November 2026.

Support available to you: Support and resources will be available to help individuals achieve sustainable weight loss if required Altrad employees are encouraged to contact the Occupational Health team if they have concerns about the new weight limit or would like support with weight management. All enquiries will be treated confidentially and handled by the Occupational Health team.
