Y así lo hace. El museo Picasso es una referencia obligada en la ciudad. Tan andaluz como rabiosamente contemporáneo, el Museo Picasso Málaga, ubicado en los 8.300 metros cuadrados del Palacio de Buenavista, reúne 233 obras que abarcan las variadas etapas del pintor. Pese a su reciente inauguración en 2003, se ha convertido en el germen de una revolución cultural en la ciudad.

Adelantado en el siglo XX, clásico en el XXI. Si buscamos autores tan rompedores como Picasso, el Centro de Arte Contemporáneo, el CAC, alberga una colección permanente que arranca en los años 50 y se extiende hasta nuestros días. Al tiempo, convive con exposiciones temporales de primer orden. Pero el espaldarazo definitivo al turismo cultural está por llegar. Y tiene nombre y dos apellidos: la Colección Carmen Thyssen Bornemisza. Con apertura en Marzo de 2011, acabará de atraer como un imán a propios y extraños. De forma continua está formada por 230 cuadros centrados en el siglo XIX de la pintura española y en particular de la andaluza. El recorrido se divide en 4 tramos: maestros antiguos, del Romanticismo al Naturalismo, del Costumbrismo al Preciosismo y fin de siglo.

Before his time in the 20th century, and a classic in the 21st Century. If we were to look for artists that stand out from the crowd as Picasso does, we should take a look in the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo or shortened to the CAC, where there is a permanent exhibition ranging from the 1950’s up until our times. There are also first class temporary exhibitions being shown.

However, the definitive backbone of the Cultural Tourism is yet to be seen. It has one name and two surnames and is called: The Carmen Thyssen Bornemisza Collection. To be opened in March 2011, it is about to cause a magnetic attraction to all and around. No less than 230 paintings based on Spanish painting, in particular Andalusian Painting of the 21st century will be exhibited. The exhibition will be divided into 4 sections: Old Masters, from Romanticism to Naturalism, from Costumbrism to The Preciosity and the end of the century.

Museo Thyssen Bornemisza

Un programa intensivo de exposiciones temporales tendrá lugar ya desde 2011: "De Picasso a Tàpies", "Sorolla en Andalucía" y "Monet: la casa entre las rosas". Al igual que el Museo Picasso, el Thyssen ocupará un edificio céntrico e histórico, el Palacio Villalón, cuya rehabilitación ha sacado a relucir la belleza del Renacimiento local y los tesoros arqueológicos del sótano.

An intensive programme of temporary exhibitions will begin now in 2011: “De Picasso a Tápies”, “Sorolla en Andalucia” and “Monet: la casa entre las rosas”. As does The Picasso Museum, The Thyssen will occupy a central and historical building, the Villalón Palace. This Palace has undergone a renovation and now shows the real beauty of the local Renaissance and reveals the archaeological treasures in the basement.

Pero no se vayan todavía. Aún hay más. A finales de año el repertorio se completará con el Museo Art-Natura. La Real Fábrica de Tabacos cobrará una nueva vida, con una ingente superficie de exposición, interactiva y lúdica, repartida en tres centros: Royal Collections, dedicado al mundo de las piedras preciosas; Ciencias de la Tierra, el universo desde el Big Bang hasta la actualidad; y Ciencias de la Vida, un itinerario por la Historia Natural.

However, don’t go yet! There’s still more! At the end of the year the repertory will be completed with no less than a Natural Art Museum. The Royal Tobacco Museum of Málaga will get a new life, offering us a vast exhibition area, interactive and recreational divided into three centres: Royal Collections dedicated to the world of precious stones; Earth Science, the universe from the Big Bang until now; and Life Science, a guide of Natural History.

Ya en 2012 se prevé otro plato fuerte: el Museo de Málaga. Se hallará en el Palacio de la Aduana, ahora en obras de profundo calado, y acogerá las incontestables piezas del Museo de Bellas Artes y del Museo Arqueológico.

And in 2012 another important event is planned: The Málaga Museum. This will be situated in The Customs Palace, at the moment in the process of extensive renovation work, and will exhibit outstanding pieces from the Museum of Fine Arts and The Archaeological Museum.

La pregunta es inevitable, ¿qué es para usted el arte?

Un consejo para noveles.

Una manera de vivir y sentirme activo hasta el final de mis días.

La famosa frase de Picasso: “el genio es el 80% de la práctica”. El trabajo es la mejor panacea para el espíritu. Y la investigación sin concesiones económicas.

¿Qué futuro cultural le espera a Málaga? Málaga y su provincia es un tema cultural emergente. Las últimas aperturas de museos ayudan a concienciar a propios y extraños de que existe un acercamiento más lógico al mundo de la educación. Ya no sirve el famoso dicho de “Málaga ciudad bravía, la de las 100.000 tabernas y una sola librería”. ¿Qué obra le ha otorgado más satisfacciones? La de sentirme humano y receptivo a todo lo que pueda venir desde el mundo de las nuevas tecnologías. Ahí, en esas tecnologías, está marcada la creación del futuro. Mi obra no es ajena ni es singular.

Sentidos y sensibilidad La mejor vista de Málaga y su Costa se encuentra en... Frigiliana El olor con el que identifica al Sur... Azahar Ese sabor que sólo existe en Andalucía es... De Pepe Bornoy podría decirse que, de tal Palo, tal artista. Y es que se crió en ese barrio malagueño, marinero y popular. Reconocido desde joven, tanto en su peregrinar como en su tierra, en 2010 se rubricó en su honor una calle con vistas al Mediterráneo. Inquieto y polifacético, curioso e infatigable, tras 50 años de tesón no ceja en su tarea y hoy explora el arte digital. Y lo hace con la misma ilusión de quien sabe, como dijo Kazantzakis, que lo mismo da vivir para siempre que morir mañana.

"Work is the best cure for the spirit" Pepe Bornoy, an artist from humble beginnings in El Palo, Málaga. Brought up in the fisherman’s area of Málaga and in the year 2010 a street with views to the Mediterranean was named after him in his honour. Well known since he was young, in his own land and on his travels, after 50 years of insistence he hasn’t given up his task. Restless and versatile, curious and untiring, nowadays he is exploring digital art. And he does it with the same enthusiasm and dream, as Kazantzakis said, it’s the same -to live forever as to die tomorrow. The feeling of being a human being and being receptive to everything that can come from the world of the latest technologies. In these technologies, the future will be created. My work is neither beyond belief nor singular.

nd now, what is going to happen in Marbella, in that economic sector of the real estate purchases and sales, so important for our local economy, after the approval of the new Urban General Plan (PGOU) by the Town Hall of Marbella and the approval of the corresponding Report from the COTUA – Andalucian Board?

ahora, ¿qué va a suceder en Marbella en ese sector económico de las compras y ventas inmobiliarias, tan importante para nuestra economía local, tras la aprobación provisional del nuevo Plan General de Ordenación Urbana –PGOU- por el Ayuntamiento de Marbella y la aprobación del preceptivo Informe de la COTUA –Junta de Andalucía-?

It would be nonsensical for us to want to give an answer to that question that would be a “solution” to all of us involved in that sector: developers, sellers, buyers, real estate agencies, banks, lawyers, notaries and Registries, etc. The scope, scale and seriousness of the matter would force us to be very careful in our answer.

Sería necio por nuestra parte querer dar una respuesta a esa pregunta, que sea “solución” para todos los que estamos implicados en ese sector: promotores, vendedores, compradores, agencias inmobiliarias, bancos, abogados, notarios y registradores, etc. El alcance, dimensión y seriedad de la cuestión planteada, nos obligaría a ser muy cautos en nuestra respuesta.

But, there is a point which we would like to highlight in this brief report, in order for all of us involved to be able to inform the “market”, and it is no other than the “change of direction” the approval of the PGOU of Marbella has supposed or must suppose, approval which we hope will be definitive shortly.

Pero, si hay una cuestión indudable que queremos resaltar en estas breves líneas, para que todos los implicados en el sector la podamos transmitir al “mercado”, y no es otra que el “golpe de timón” que ha supuesto o debe suponer la aprobación, que esperemos sea definitiva en un breve lapso de tiempo, del PGOU de Marbella.

It is true that the “solutions” that the Plan proposes to so many urban excesses that have taken place during the last fifteen years can create certain confusion in the “market”, and, to a certain extent, be a possible seedbed of more problems. But, even if it is so, this Plan gives us al a new urban frame, a scenario where we already will be able to give to our clients, potential buyers and/or sellers of properties, some URBAN SECURITY. And I say “some” because we are waiting for a definitive approval, for the Plan to become current, and to know how the Town Hall of Marbella is going to manage the regularization of all those Properties which, in their way to be regularized, will have to “compensate” the urban excesses in which they incurred.

Es cierto que las “soluciones” que aporta el Plan a tantos desmanes urbanísticos que se han producido a lo largo de estos últimos quince años, pueden generar cierta confusión en el “mercado” y, en cierta medida, ser un posible semillero de nuevos problemas. Pero, aún así, este Plan nos da a todos un nuevo marco urbanístico, un escenario en el que si será ya posible dar a nuestros clientes, potenciales compradores y/o vendedores de inmuebles, cierta SEGURIDAD URBANISTICA. Y digo “cierta” por el hecho de que estamos a la espera de la aprobación definitiva, de la entrada en vigor de dicho Plan, y de cómo va a gestionar el Ayuntamiento de Marbella la regularización de todos aquellos Inmuebles que, estando en vías de su ordenación urbanística, deberán “compensar” los excesos urbanísticos producidos.

And it is in this setting when, to our understanding, it becomes essential, as complement to this urban security, for some professionals to step in, who, given their knowledge of the “market” – real estate agents – and the relevant legal advice – lawyers, will give, or will guarantee, to the operation, the necessary COMMERCIAL AND LEGAL SECURITY. Both professionals taking part in the transaction from the same moment when the potential client decides to buy or to put up for sale a property in Marbella, is the maximum guarantee that, at today’s date, the purchase or sale they are going to make is “safe”.

Y es en este escenario en el que, a nuestro entender, se convierte en esencial, como complemento de esa seguridad urbanística, la intervención de determinados profesionales que, por el conocimiento del “mercado” –agentes inmobiliarios- y el asesoramiento jurídico oportuno –abogados-, le den o garanticen a la transacción la suficiente SEGURIDAD COMERCIAL Y JURIDICA. La intervención de ambos profesionales desde el mismo momento en el que el potencial cliente decida adquirir o poner a la venta un inmueble en Marbella, es garantía máxima de que, en la actualidad, la adquisición o venta que va a realizar es “segura”.

It may be surprising, as it is a simple concept, the following: the buyers or sellers of properties in Marbella want to simply be sure that what they are going to buy or sell is “legal”, and that they are not going to be caught in the future in unforeseen situations, which may derive in unwanted consequences. We understand that, at today’s date, this security can be achieved in Marbella. How? By mediating between purchasers and sellers, with real estate agents and lawyers taking part, contracts and agreements, some traditional, others creative, which will enable the transaction to reach a good end; the setting where to frame them is clear: our new PGOU and the Law.

Puede sorprender, por su simpleza, ese concepto: los compradores o vendedores de inmuebles en Marbella quieren estar simplemente seguros de que lo que van a comprar o vender es “legal”, y que no se van a ver sorprendidos en el futuro por situaciones imprevistas, que puedan degenerar en consecuencias no deseadas. Nosotros entendemos que, hoy, esa seguridad se puede ya alcanzar en Marbella, ¿cómo? Articulando entre Compradores y Vendedores, con la mediación de Agentes y la intervención de Abogados, fórmulas y pactos contractuales, tradicionales unas, imaginativas otros, que permitan llevar a buen término la operación; el marco o escenario donde articularlas es claro: nuestro nuevo PGOU y el Derecho.

Task lighting as the name suggests for a specific task maybe lighting a work surface in a kitchen or writing desk in an office or study. Accent lighting may pick out a specific feature possibly architectural, like an arch or column, or decorative like a picture or a sculpture.

It´s good practice to create layers of light in a room or an area that can be manipulated to give various desired effects. This can add or change the concept of the decoration of the space.

Uplighters on a tree will not only illuminate its trunk but also a surprising amount of light can be reflected by the foliage and branches. Path or step as well as security lighting should be considered as this can be a real deterrent.
