A destination of unmatched natural beauty located off the eastern coast of Luzon in the Philippines, Balesin Island Club, Alphaland Corporation’s flagship project, is a 500-hectare tropical island paradise with 7.3 kilometers of pristine white-sand beaches. Located 21 kilometers southeast of Polillo, Quezon Province and just 60 nautical miles east of Manila, Balesin is approximately a 20-minute plane ride from Manila, yet is a world completely unto itself. Alphaland Balesin Island Club is your unique, members-only, private leisure getaway--today and for generations to come.
A Stone’s Throw Away
One of the biggest challenges that face all exotic island destinations is – how do I get there? For Balesin Island Club members, we have solved the problem. We operate our own fleet of turboprop aircraft to bring you there and back, and charter larger-capacity planes for peak periods. Flying time from the Manila airport to Balesin is just 20 minutes. As a member, you are entitled to the luxury of your own departure lounge and terminal through Balesin Island Club’s exclusive arrangements.
Balesin Island Club offers luxurious villas and amenities patterned after some of the most sought-after destinations around the world. The accommodations consist of 300 villas and suites in seven unique villages: Balesin, Bali, Costa del Sol, Mykonos, Phuket, St. Tropez, and Toscana. The resort also features an additional 1 4 suites, sleeping up to 4 guests each, at The Balesin Royal Villa, your venue of choice for larger groups, such as family gatherings, wedding receptions, and corporate retreats. Each is a distinct experience, and effectively a resort in itself. Each is designed and executed authentically, from architecture and interiors to landscaping and cuisine. The emphasis of the design is on privacy and exclusivity.
The Main Clubhouse is where members and guests begin their visit. This majestic Filipino-inspired structure is home to seven clubhouse suites, function rooms, conference rooms, restaurants, and a wide array of facilities for everyone’s enjoyment. Outside the Main Clubhouse is a sprawling lagoon-style swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers and parasols. From the verandah, the view looks out to the white sands of Balesin beach and the azure waters of Lamon Bay.
The Clubhouse Suites can each accommodate up to 8 persons. They are perfect for large families and groups that want to stay together. Each clubhouse suite comes with a loft for additional sleeping space and a balcony that looks out onto the main swimming pool area.
The Main Clubhouse is home to several air-conditioned and al fresco dining areas. The Clubhouse Lounge, open for all-day dining, serves Filipino and Continental favorites. An extensive international Breakfast Buffet is served here on weekends. Additional seating can be found at the air-conditioned Balesin Dining Room and the Verandah. For freshly prepared sushi and sashimi, grilled teppanyaki dishes, and more, visit Sakura. Authentic Korean dishes and appetizers are also available at Han-Gang restaurant. Overlooking the main pool area is Balesin Sunset Sweets, which serves cakes, pastries, and local dessert delicacies. For privacy, Michelle’s and Anna’s are more intimate dining rooms that seat 8.

COSTA DEL SOL
THE BALESIN ROYAL VILLA
Balesin’s original Filipino architecture features the best the country has to offer. It is fronted by the best beach on the island, with its long stretch of pristine white sand. The village is near the main clubhouse, the Balesin Spa, the Aquatic Sports Center, and the Balesin Sala. So guests need only take a short walk to have a swim at the main pool, get a massage by the beach, or engage in water activities.
BALESIN SALA The Sala is Balesin Village’s signature restaurant, which offers dining in the air-conditioned dining room or on the outdoor verandah. Enjoy a traditional Filipino breakfast or come for light afternoon snacks and watch the sunset. Don’t miss out on the famous Balesin binakol, fish fillet in coconut juice, or kinilaw, raw fish marinated in vinegar and spices. RELIC BAR The Relic Bar is the oldest existing structure on the island. This 40-year old cabana, originally a poolside bar, has since been moved from the Balesin Clubhouse to its current location right by Balesin Sala’s beachfront. It is the perfect place to unwind by the beach while sipping cocktails and watching the amazing Balesin sunset.
Bali Village’s unique villas draw their inspiration from the “Salakot”, the traditional Asian farmer’s hat. The village is located along the same beach as Balesin Village but lies at its northernmost end. Each Bali villa has a wraparound porch that provides a relaxing ambiance. For a more romantic and secluded experience, members and guests can stay in one of the water villas that provide the most captivating panoramic views on the island.
BALI WARUNG The Warung is Bali Village’s signature restaurant. Members and guests enjoy an authentic Indonesian ambiance, thanks to the artifacts adorning its walls. Must-try dishes at the Warung include traditional Indonesian fare such as laksa, nasi goreng, and sate ayam. For intimate gatherings and events, the Bali Warung also has two private dining rooms, Ubud and Sanur, that can comfortably seat 8 persons each. NUSA DUA BAR Nusa Dua Bar is where members and guests come to enjoy Balinese cocktails and appetizers in the open air while enjoying the sunset. As the bar is set above the water, guests have a 360-degree view of Balesin’s sparkling waters and twinkling island lights.
RICO’S HIDEAWAY Rico’s Hideaway is a charming, rustic beachfront bungalow which used to be Alphaland Head of Design Rico Sison’s home in Balesin. It has now been converted into a bar and restaurant, serving Mongolian barbecue buffet and grilled dishes as well as a variety of pica-pica. For those in the mood for sundowners and happy hour, Rico’s Hideaway also features a well-stocked bar serving a wide range of libations.
Phuket Village is tucked away in the southern part of Balesin Island. Each Phuket villa is characterized by multiple roof tiers, undulating serpentine shapes and blade-like roof projections which are hallmarks of the rich Thai heritage. Phuket villas are similar in layout to Bali and Balesin villas, with an outdoor deck, daybed, and lounge chairs and tables for relaxing. A lush green forest surrounds Phuket Village and the views here sweep from Lamon Bay for the sunrise to the Pacific Ocean for the sunset.
PHUKET SALATHIP The Salathip is an awe-inspiring structure, with its Buddha statues, scaled roofs, and authentic Thai artifacts. House specialty dishes include tom yum goong, pad Thai, and keng deng gai. Aside from the indoor seating area, the restaurant opens up to a generous outdoor verandah for al fresco dining. There is also an unusual black-tiled 25-meter swimming pool fronting Salathip, as well as a row of lounge recliners and parasols along the beach.
Mykonos Village stands in contrast to other Balesin Island Club villages. With its whitewashed walls, blue windows and doors, and winding cobblestone roads, it is an authentic recreation of the world-famous Greek isle. Instead of an outdoor porch, each Mykonos villa has a rooftop deck that comes with a large lounge area and whirlpool tub, making it the perfect place to throw a party. For more spacious accommodations, the Mykonos Beach Villas are ideal for families and large groups who want to stay together. Named after the gods of Greek mythology, these 33 rooms are highlighted by a unique indoor-outdoor swimming pool.
THANASSIS TAVERNA Thanassis Taverna is the centerpiece of Mykonos Village. Named after Chef Thanassis Koumpiadis, it serves gyros, moussaka, grilled lamb ribs, and souvlaki, among other dishes. Thanassis Taverna also has several dining options an upstairs private dining room, a lounge area, and a roof deck for outdoor seating. MYKONOS COVE DECK The Cove Deck at Mykonos is a great place to enjoy the cool sea breeze with a drink in hand. Built within a private cove and adjacent to the Thanassis Taverna, it sees regular use as a party spot or venue for large gatherings. Mykonos Cove Deck also has four outdoor Jacuzzis that face the Pacific Ocean and are popular both day and night.
St. Tropez offers members and guests a South of France experience. Leading up to the village is a long, date palm-lined driveway. Instead of villas, St. Tropez emulates the look and feel of the legendary Hotel Byblos. At St.Tropez, rooms are characterized by their high ceilings and their own balcony looking out at the Pacific Ocean. St. Tropez has a large tiled swimming pool with sun loungers and parasols that dot the terrace as well as the beach.
LES RESTAURANTS DE ST. TROPEZ ‘Les Restaurants de St. Tropez’ are several small dining areas: Le Girelier, La Voile Rouge, L’Escale, and Place des Lices. For added privacy, there is Le Neptune, a secluded dining room that can seat 12. Specialties of the house include pissaladière, escargots de Bourgogne and entrecôte au poivre. The upstairs Crêperie offers sweet and savory crêpes with café au lait or any way. THE NIRVANA LOUNGE With its hexagonal ceiling mirrors and exotic yet cozy furnishings, the Nirvana Lounge draws inspiration from the sophisticated French bar scene. This little hideaway on the main floor of St. Tropez provides an intimate backdrop for cocktails or a post-dinner tête-à-tête.
Costa del Sol
Costa del Sol, which literally translates to “Coast of the Sun,” features Spanish colonial architecture with arched thresholds, stucco walls and manicured courtyards. This village draws inspiration from the quaint coastal towns of southern Spain. Each of the suites and rooms in the six ‘Casas’ - Estepona, Fuengirola, Malaga, Marbella, Ronda and Torremolinos – opens up to a picturesque view of the Pacific Ocean. Costa del Sol is home to two beautiful swimming pools that bookend each other. One, a saltwater pool, is black-tiled while the other is a blue-tiled freshwater pool. Surrounding both pools are sun loungers and parasols.
COSTA DEL SOL CASA GRANDE Casa Grande is Costa del Sol’s signature dining facility. This cozy restaurant, designed in classical Spanish style, serves specialties such as almejas a la pobre, gambas al ajillo, bacalao a la Vizcaina, and the always popular cochinillo asado. Choose from a wide selection of tapas and enjoy them with a glass of Rioja wine. There are four private dining rooms – Vista de la Playa, Vista del Mar, Marbella Club and Puerto Banús – each uniquely designed. THE ALHAMBRA LOUNGE The place to be for after-dinner drinks is the Alhambra Lounge, a Moroccan-inspired sanctum infused with a warm mystique that will allow your mind to drift away while you relax with a glass of fine Spanish brandy. THE BALESIN MUSIC LOUNGE The Music Lounge is Balesin Island Club’s answer to some of the best nightspots in the metro. Dance the night away to your favorite club tunes as we feature an impressive roster of the best local and international DJs to grace these shores.
Toscana Village draws its inspiration from Tuscany, the Italian region renowned for its lush vineyards, olive groves, rolling hills, old-world traditions, and art masterpieces. Toscana Village features many hallmarks of Tuscan architecture and design—arched doorways, terracotta accents, textured stone walls, tiled finishes, and the generous use of natural wood. The suites and common areas in Toscana Village are decorated with rich yet simple furnishings in soft, opulent fabrics.
TOSCANA Toscana is the main clubhouse of Toscana Village. Visually reminiscent of an Italian country estate, it features an open-air courtyard that looks up to a third floor terrace with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. Fronting Toscana are three oceanside swimming pools— one saltwater and two freshwater—with sun loungers and parasols. THE RESTAURANTS OF TOSCANA Toscana Village is home to several dining areas: Un Rincon de Chile, La Nena, La Ventura, La Meridiana, Antico Posto, Pizzeria Al Fogher, Anghiari, Molinello, Sezzano, and La Ghianda. Guests can choose to dine in any one of these areas for their à la carte meals. Specialty dishes include antipasto Toscana (assortment of Tuscan salami and prosciutto) and spaghetti alla vongole (with fresh baby clams and whole garlic).
The Balesin Royal Villa
A majestic structure facing Lamon Bay and its gorgeous sunset, The Balesin Royal Villa is your venue of choice for larger groups, such as family gatherings, wedding receptions, and corporate functions. Meticulously designed, The Balesin Royal Villa takes the best of Asian royal heritage and blends it into something wholly original. With its intricate filigree finishes, rich fabrics, and luxurious yet airy ambiance, the end result is an opulent setting fit for a king. Welcoming guests through the grand main entrance is The Salon, an elegant function hall which accommodates up to 350 guests for sit-down banquets. There is a 10-person elevator for easy access to the upper and lower floors from The Salon. With 14 suites, an expansive sun deck, two pools, billiard and foosball tables, karaoke room, and its own private beach, The Balesin Royal Villa provides everything you need for your group gathering.

To complement your catch, harvest your own salad greens and vegetables from the organic farm adjacent to the Picnic Grove.
For those craving fresh seafood, this restaurant on stilts on the water is the best place to go. Situated at the end of a long pier near the clubhouse with a picturesque view of Balesin’s coastline and the breathtaking sunset, Fish Fun is perfect for those who want to try their hand at fishing, or simply for anyone looking to have the freshest seafood on the island. Various species of fish such as Lapu-Lapu (grouper), Pompano (Pomfret), and Apahap (Sea Bass) are kept in fish pens for guests to fish for. Once the fish are caught, guests can have them cooked any way they like. Another must-try are our crustaceans: crab and lobster.
Segway & Bicycles
One of Balesin Island Club’s newest fun activities is the Segway. This two-wheeled, self-balancing, battery-powered electric vehicle is propelled forward and backward by shifting one’s weight. Mountain bikes, available in different sizes, are popular for getting around, or exploring the island’s offroad spots.
Horse Trails Balesin is home to retired racehorses and local breeds. Ride around the bullring with our qualified instructors or venture out on one of the many island trails. For the ultimate thrill, go for a ride along the soft sands of Balesin beach.
Nature Trail Explore the flora and fauna of the island and take a 5-kilometer guided hike on our nature trails that wind through the island’s dense forest. Trails are open from dawn to dusk every day.
This beautiful amphitheater-style chapel is highlighted by the large bamboo cross that serves as its centerpiece. Masses are held on weekends, and there is also an Evangelical service every week.
When development of the island began, Balesin’s beaches were covered in hundreds of driftwood logs of all shapes and sizes. To make the most of this blessing, we invited an Ifugao tribe of 3rd-generation wood carvers straight from the Mountain Province to live and work on the island. Thus was born the Ifugao Camp. Its residents are highly skilled in woodworking, and are responsible for the many pieces seen throughout the seven Balesin villages, from intricate wall reliefs to beautifully detailed furniture. Today, the Ifugao Camp serves a dual purpose – it provides these transplanted Northern artisans with a home on the island while allowing them to showcase and sell their wares to members and guests.
Balesin Island Club is the ideal setting for your next team-building activity, seminar, or corporate event. Our function rooms and conference hall are perfect for groups of anywhere from 30 to 120 people, in a classroom configuration. The Balesin Royal Villa’s Main Salon is also a popular setting for conferences and functions. For members who have smaller groups and need to meet in privacy and comfort, there are a number of private dining rooms located throughout the seven villages.  All private dining rooms as well as the function rooms and conference hall can be set up with the latest audio-visual and presentation equipment.
For couples who wish to say “I do,” Balesin Island Club is a truly special destination. With seven unique villages and The Balesin Royal Villa to choose from, your wedding will be a truly memorable affair. Sustainability Policy Balesin Island Club utilizes revolutionary concepts and technologies to keep its natural surroundings as pristine as possible. A prime example is the 1.5 kilometer runway, which doubles as a rainwater catchment. It can divert over 200 million liters of water per year into several man-made lakes found within the island’s interior. The harvested water is then processed via ultrafiltration into potable drinking water which is then distributed throughout the villages. Used water is also recycled in modular sewage treatment plants, which in turn produces Class A greywater. This greywater is used for the island’s lush landscaping during the summer months.
Preservation of Marine and Wild Life Balesin Island Club takes great care in preserving its surrounding waters, and illegal fishing of any kind is strictly prohibited. As a result of these initiatives, the island’s marine ecosystem is once again thriving. There are many coral reefs found around the island, and these have been preserved specifically for diving and sustainable fishing. Some of the different species of marine life you will encounter include parrot fish, coral fish, yellowfin tuna, giant clams, grouper, and deep sea crabs.
Balesin Island Organic Gardens and Farm Benefitting from Balesin’s naturally fertile soil, Balesin Island Club’s Organic Gardens were set up to provide the village restaurants with fresh organic produce. Members and their guests can enjoy their salads knowing that they were picked straight from the garden daily and are free from any harmful chemical pesticides.  The 50+ greenhouses strategically laid out alongside the runway are home to a variety of lowland vegetables such as lettuce, arugula, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, and numerous culinary herbs and spices.
Balesin Seafood Farm While Balesin’s waters teem with marine life, the Club, in line with its policy of preserving the natural environment, has also opted to cultivate and harvest seafood for its restaurants through specially made fish pens/ponds. This allows Balesin Island Club to remain as self-sufficient as possible, lessening the need for sourcing products from the mainland. Freshly caught hito (catfish), cream dory, and crabs are just a few of the varieties of seafood that members and guests enjoy while on the island. The water from these ponds is what feeds our organic produce using hydroponic farming. The farm is carefully integrated with the island’s waste management program, ensuring that the biodegradable waste from the kitchens is effectively turned into useful compost to feed the plants.
Balesin Seafood Shack Located in front of the Balesin Seafood Farm is a rustic waterfront shack where freshly cooked seafood such as Balesin Island crab, Lapu-Lapu, hito, and squid are served.
Duck Farm In the Family Picnic Grove area, a pond houses over 200 Pateros ducks, locally known as native ducks that are being cultivated and raised. These ducks produce the famous Filipino delicacies balut and penoy for guests and members to enjoy. Organic waste from these ducks is then used at the farm as natural fertilizers.
The Aviary This sanctuary is home to beautiful and exotic species of birds found around the Philippines and elsewhere.
