stage - give the students their certificate at check-in. You can also have students sign the book at check-in. This way you know each student is getting the right certificate. Then you can distribute the ALD pins on stage. Have students say their own names. If you’re worried about mispronouncing a name, have students introduce themselves. Make it fun by adding where they are from. Get your officers involved. You don’t have to do everything yourself! Get your officers involved and have them plan and assist with the induction ceremony. Confirm details in advance. Be sure to do a final confirmation with your caterers, speakers, musicians, etc. a few days before the induction ceremony.
What’s Your Social Media Strategy? Engage Your Members Online Social media is a great way to communicate to your members, highlight your events and service activities, and post information about your meetings. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Instagram any or all of them are great ways to engage your members. If your chapter is not on social media perhaps now’s the time to think about it!

Alpha Lambda Delta National Conference: Washington DC October 28 - 30, 2016 Alpha Lambda Delta’s 2016 National Conference will be held Friday, October 28 through Sunday, October 30 in Washington DC. Our hotel, The Washington Court, is located just a few blocks from the Capitol building. Less than two weeks prior to a presidential election, Washington DC is the perfect place for our conference! More details regarding the conference will be released throughout the summer on the national ALD website.
You asked - we listened! We understand many of you need more lead time than the beginning of the fall semester for registration (for budgets, planning, flights, etc). Mid-March, we will launch a registration designed to allow you to “reserve your space” for the fall conference. This way, you don’t have to know exactly who is going (as most of you have not had elections yet), but you can plan in advance to send yourself and up to two students. Once you know more details, you can simply contact the National Office (on or before September 20) to update the information. We hope this helps you with your planning!
