Careers Pathway We are with you when you start your career early If the global pandemic has taught us anything, one of the few careers which will always need the warm human touch are the Healthcare professions. These have for millennia been a major location where Christians have worked out their callings. Now, Australia’s largest Christian College is partnering with Australia’s largest Christian healthcare providers to help you find your future.

Qualified post-school candidates may be offered a continuing pathway which involves a mix of work and continuing training.

You will gain experience in an Anglicare facility, mentored by a skilled overseer, and learn on the job.

Anglicare will part fund your program resulting in experience, a job, and a Certificate III.

You will have the advantage of working within a large and expanding network of institutions which offer future career opportunities within Christian context.

Choose Your Pathway Make a career out of what you love to do From January 2022, Anglicare Sydney will provide a number of cadetships and school-based traineeships (SBT) which students can commence as early as Year 10 in school, opening doors to a variety of careers in one of Australia’s largest allied health providers. You will have the opportunity to undertake a voluntary cadetship which will attribute toward a Certificate IV and expanded employment opportunities. Gain a dual qualification by pairing either the Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or Business (Medical) with the 52880WA Certificate IV in Leadership & Mentoring. Alternatively, the school-based traineeship pathway allows you to gain real work experience to support your studies and get paid for it. School-based trainees will study a Certificate III in either Allied Health or Business (Medical) with two years of paid work with Anglicare. These pathways include an optional HSC exam which provides the opportunity for you to have your HSC mark contribute to your ATAR calculation.

Design Your Future Allied health assistants provide assistance to allied health professionals with the care of clients under predetermined guidelines. Depending on the setting, work may include following treatment plans for therapeutic interventions and/or conducting programs under the regular direct, indirect or remote supervision of an allied health professional.

CHCCOM005 - Communicate and work in health or community services

To achieve Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance, the candidate must have completed at least 80 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency. At work placement you will assist with at least 3 allied health programs, including a simulated environment and in the workplace, performing the activities outlined in the performance criteria.

The Certificate III in Business (Medical) course has a focus on medical administration and will provide you with the opportunity to work in medical and allied health practices, private surgeries and hospitals. This course will prepare you to meet the evolving business management expectations of contemporary health services where health is increasingly seen as a business. Possible roles will see you required to contribute through effective management of staff and financial resources in a health care setting.
