Alma Denisse Martinez became the first female surfer from Tijuana, Baja California, to qualify for Mexico’s National Women’s Surf Team who is heading to the ISA World Championship in May 2014. Alma Denisse showed an unstoppable pace this year placing first or second in contests throughout the Baja peninsula. After riding her way through her first-time inscription in Baja California State Team Circuit this February through June, Alma Denisse qualified for the State Team. Her dedication, discipline and performance earned her National Women’s Surfing Sub-Champion while representing Baja California at Mexico’s National Surfing Games 2013 just this November.
