Registration will not be accepted at the school office. Painting and Drawing This course is designed to enable all students from novice to expert to gain specific skills in representational drawing and painting. Through class critiques and teacher demonstrations each student will develop the ability to evaluate their own progress in these skills. Each student will complete 1-2 paintings in class. Each student will have to decide on using either Watercolor, Acrylics, Water-soluble oils, or drawing for this class and purchase supplies. World of Watercolor Enjoy the wonderful world of painting watercolor. We will learn to paint wet in wet and dry brush techniques that create beautiful paintings. Dance Baby Ballet Baby Ballet encourages self-expression and fun! Children learn to respond to music, improve balance and agility, and express their feelings through dance. A variety of music and props such as scarves and teddy bears keep your little one entertained. Drawing-Beginning This class teaches basic to advanced drawing skills, art techniques and vocabulary in a positive and nurturing environment and brings out creativity in each child. Phonics and Pre-Reading-NEW! This new class combines songs, writing, projects and stories. Kids will review letter sounds, learn simple word blending. This class is for children who know the majority of the alphabet and can write their name. Children must be potty trained by the first day of class. Parent participation varies at each center.

Bird, Sea, and Energy In this series of classes, we invite preschoolers to investigate the different shapes and structures found in nature. They will examine the invisible world and learn about reflection and symmetry. Then we take to the skies to help them discover details about our fine feathered friends, birds, as well as about those regular floral visitors, the butterflies. The children will also explore the sea shore and learn more about its various inhabitants. Pumpkin Picking at the Park Join us for a fun-filled day at Emma Prusch Park. We will begin at the Almaden Community Center where we will provide art activities for children and adults to enjoy together. Then will we meet at Emma Prusch Park for a guided tour, which will include close encounters with the farm animals, a hay wagon ride, and picking out a pumpkin to take home. Bring the whole family and stay afterwards for a family picnic. Pre-registration is required for all children ages1.5 years and up.

Amazing Anime-ation! The participants in this program will learn the basics of Stop Motion Animation, as well as other forms of digital animation including cartooning and Anime. Students work in small groups to complete a short animated film, which they create themselves. Materials, software and cameras will all be provided. Participants may choose to bring in their own objects to animate, although it is not necessary.

Filmmaking from Script to Premiere This class begins with a completed script. Working in small groups, filmmakers can decide on the type of film: comedy, drama, sci-fi, action adventure or horror. They start with storyboards and produce the film, with simple special effects, sound effects and a score. Depending on the group, they may bring costumes and props from home but this is not required.
