On one of the last days in Madrid, we went to the Reina Sofia. I stumbled upon a Constant exhibit called New Babylon, showing the work and concept behind a nomad city of the future. When reading his artist statement, he stated how “going astray” is not getting lost, but instead finding new paths. While in Spain, I had some time to reflect on many different subjects. One was all of the Honors trips I’ve had the opportunity to go on and realizing that every one has made a huge impact on who I am today. Two years ago, the Honors trip to Italy gave me the confidence to be comfortable with myself. This trip to Spain brought me back to that person. The six months prior to this trip, I felt like I was getting lost, but the sixteen days made me realize that I had just gone astray. Allison Parssi Spain 2016
