About Me Allison Booth is a fourth year student of art and architecture. Currently, she attends the University of Detroit Mercy studying architecture. She is also a recent graduate of the University of Windsor, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree. Having a background in visual arts allows Allison to have an enriched understanding of space and representation through multiple mediums. Enclosed are some of her selected projects during her past four years of study.

Food Culture Library University of Detroit Mercy Fall 2016

The project is a food-based research, experimentation, and vendor library. It is located at the threshold of Eastern Market in Detroit, Michigan. Visual connections are made between each programmatic space in the library to encourage communal gathering.

Elmwood Children’s Library University of Detroit Mercy Fall 2016 The project is a new addition for the Elmwood Park Branch library in Detroit, Michigan. It considers sound and security for both the children and adults using the library; ultimately developing new thresholds for the children’s section in the library.

Walkerville Culinary Institute University of Detroit Mercy Fall 2015 This project is a multi-use building with residential units, retail, restaurants, and a cooking school. Changing of spatial qualities and strengthening alleyways are driving forces for the project.

Landform House University of Windsor Winter 2015 This project is a 1,000 sqft home with a detached studio and solarium. The form of the house and studio are replicating the split landscape. The concept of integrating mass and void space is utilized.

Perspective Piazza University of Detroit Mercy Winter 2016

This project is a program of low income housing, an iron workers facility, daycare, art gallery, and higher education facility. Located in Cincinnati, Ohio a piazza is used to connect the multiple facilities and frame views of various parts of the city.

Banglatown Community Hub University of Detroit Mercy Winter 2017

This project investigated a neighborhood called Banglatown, in Detroit MI. It acknowledges the diverse cultural, ecological, economic, and social factors that affect the community, and responds with a central hub to connect the four unique quadrants of the neighborhood.

Press Fit Lamp University of Detroit Mercy Fall 2015 This project used Rhino and Grasshopper to fabricate a pressďŹ t lamp. The requirements are the lamp must be able to be packed at, and be assembled without any use of adhesives, resulting in the use of interlocking pieces.
