The use of digital devices to capture moments and memories
when traveling has become commonplace. This has lead to an
increasing capture and creation of personal narratives through
digitally-generated information in so-called Selfie and Quantified
Self cultures. While it is customary to recollect travel memories
from images, this research aims to question how quantified self
data, commonly collected through digital devices, could be used as
memory-augmenting materials. This research is investigating the
intersection between travel and data and the potential for creating
personal souvenirs that support recollection of personal memories
through materials and hands-on making.
