Each year, hundreds of employers recruit on campus to bring internship and job opportunities to Murray State students. In fact, 40% of our students apply their knowledge through an internship or co-op, and many students get the chance to conduct important research alongside a faculty member. Plus, 300 annual Education Abroad students receive the life-changing opportunity to live and study in one of 40+ countries, including Belize, China, Germany and Australia.

With 150 student organizations, it’s easy to get involved on campus. Whether you love sports, foreign languages, science fiction or Greek life, Murray State is sure to have an organization that fits your interests.

Celebrate touchdowns with Racer One, a thoroughbred horse who runs a lap around the track circling the football field every time the home team scores.

Rally for the Racers with everything from NCAA Division I basketball and Division I FCS football to golf and cross country. Campus Lights is the longestrunning musical in the South that is entirely produced and performed by students, and we’ve been doing it since 1938!

For nearly 60 years, student groups have competed against each other in song and dance, all for a good cause!

ALL CAMPUS SING You Like To Move It Get in the game with sports clubs and organizations, including mens’ club crew, equestrian, rodeo, women’s field hockey, cheerleading and the Racer Girls Dance Team. Plus, you can participate in more than 10 intramural sports and activities, from softball and flag football to racquetball and inner tube water polo.

The annual homecoming parade and Tent City festivities bring the campus community together to showcase our Racer spirit. Everyone’s invited!

Residential Colleges Whether you live in an on-campus residential hall or commute, you’ll join one of eight residential colleges. Consider it your tightknit community within the larger University community. You’ll meet fellow students, get connected to faculty and gain opportunities for personal and professional growth. With social functions, group activities and academic guidance, the residential colleges provide the ultimate college experience.

Some of the best college memories are made when living on campus. Murray State’s nine residential halls offer perks like on-site games and free laundry facilities, and they’re located a short walk from the academic buildings, Winslow Dining Hall, the Wellness Center and football games at Roy Stewart Stadium.

Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area: People travel from across the country to hike, bike, fish and more at “LBL,” which is just 20 miles from Murray!
