The Power of Diversity: Building a Thriving Workplace at Allied

Diversity is not merely a buzzword; it is the cornerstone of growth, innovation, and success at Allied, and it's a value we hold dear. The essence of diversity extends far beyond race, gender, age, or background; it encapsulates the varied experiences, perspectives, and talents that every individual brings to our company. In this article, we delve into why diversity is so pivotal to our workplace and how it contributes to our continuous success.

A Broader Horizon of Ideas

One of the most apparent benefits of diversity is the influx of fresh ideas and perspectives. At Allied, we understand that no single individual possesses all the answers. Instead, we thrive on the collective intelligence of our diverse team. When people from different backgrounds and experiences collaborate, they bring unique insights to the table. This diversity of thought sparks creativity, leads to more innovative solutions, and helps us stay at the forefront of our industry.

Expanding Our Customer Base

A diverse team doesn't just enrich our internal dynamics; it also broadens our external reach. Imagine a company where everyone is identical in every aspect – a homogenous group that can only relate to a limited segment of the population. Now contrast that with a company like Allied, where our workforce is as diverse as the world around us. This diversity allows us to connect with a wider range of customers, understanding their needs and aspirations better than a monolithic team ever could.

Strength in Unity

At Allied, we cherish unity as much as diversity. While we celebrate our differences, we also ensure that every member of our team shares our core values: honesty, respect, trust, integrity, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Our diverse team embodies these values in their own unique ways, contributing to a cohesive and harmonious work environment.

Learning from One Another

A diverse workplace offers a learning opportunity like no other. Every individual comes with their own life experiences and knowledge. When we embrace diversity, we commit to learning from one another, growing not just as professionals but as human beings. This commitment to growth and understanding helps foster a culture of empathy and mutual respect.

Navigating Challenges Together

Diversity brings its own set of challenges, but at Allied, we see them as opportunities for growth. Different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives can lead to misunderstandings or miscommunications, but we tackle these issues head-on. By fostering open dialogue and promoting sensitivity, we overcome these hurdles together, emerging stronger and more united.

Our Vision for the Future

As we move forward, our commitment to diversity remains unwavering. We believe that diversity, coupled with competence and our core values, forms the bedrock of our success. It's not about simply checking boxes; it's about creating a workplace where every individual has a voice, feels valued, and can contribute their unique strengths to our shared mission.

In conclusion, diversity is not just a checkbox at Allied; it's the lifeblood of our organization. It propels us forward, keeps us agile, and enables us to connect with the world in meaningful ways. Together, as a diverse and united team, we look forward to achieving even greater heights and making a positive impact in our industry and beyond.

We’ve just rolled out all job summaries into M-Files, making it a piece of cake to quickly and efficiently find the information you need. This quarter, we’ve been working hard to make sure these are easy to find and to make sure each department knows who’s what and what’s what!

Why is this a big deal? Having quick access to job summaries means you won’t waste time searching for info on specific roles or teams. These summaries are all about giving you a straightforward idea of job duties, perfect for getting new folks up to speed or working with other teams.

Thanks to everyone who helped with getting this resource accessible for our whole team. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to Lisa M!

Service Department's Recent Endeavors

The Service Department has been on a roll with some exciting initiatives lately! First and foremost, we've been hitting the books and diving deep into training. From Toshiba to Iridesse, Kyocera, and FP training, we've left no stone unturned. Our goal is to ensure that when one of our technicians is out, there's always a skilled backup ready to step in. No more waiting for customers we've got it covered!

Additionally, we've embarked on a mission to revamp the organization of our main warehouse. Our team, led by a couple of dedicated individuals, is making sure everything has its designated home. If something seems out of place, we're on it, asking all the right questions. Who brought it here? Why is it not in its rightful spot? Organization is the name of the game in our back warehouse.

But that's not all; we're also giving our recycled parts room a much-needed makeover. We're labeling everything, and that's not just for looks it's for efficient inventory management. We're implementing scanning systems to keep our inventory accurate, benefiting all of us in the long run.

And there's more exciting news on the horizon! We're gearing up for mobile automation, which means no more pesky hard copies of paperwork. Our delivery drivers will have customers sign on tablets, and paperwork can be emailed right away. No more waiting for documents to return and be scanned in everything will be at our fingertips.

Last but not least, our supplies area has been buzzing with activity. Karen's been hard at work creating price lists, setting special pricing, and ensuring correct billing for freight. Her focus this quarter is tackling those stale print audit sites, and she's been doing an incredible job. We're on fire, and we're excited to continue these initiatives and make our Service Department even more efficient and customerfocused. Stay tuned for more updates!

Everything was almost finished, almost ready, etc. As of now we’ve already been able to diagnose and start planning to resolve long existing issues allowing the client a greater feeling of security knowing that their IT partner has their back. Like many of our newest clients the big issues that we are working with them on are around security, training, and processes to simplify their IT investment.

To start we have First Quartile. This small team assists public utilities across the globe (currently working a project in Dubai) in optimization, benchmarking, and insights into operability and employability. This was one of the most entertaining group of folks Shane been blessed to work with during his time with Allied. We have been able to deliver their main goal, allowing them to focus on their jobs instead of IT.

Next up is a recommendation from a happy Allied client, Owyhee Produce! Snake River Produce located in Nyssa, OR who specialized in Spanish Sweet Onions. This client has had a history of, “almost,” IT.

IT SUCCESS STORY

Recently, the firewall for the Ford Idaho Center was replaced by the IT Team. Given the size and complexity of this client’s network this was a huge undertaking. A great deal of planning went into the execution of this project which ultimately led to only minutes of planned down-time for the client while the switchover was made to the new hardware. Shoutouts to Andrew Doxey, Sam Binsacca and Shane Adams for their efforts!
