‘LIVING’ FACADE Exterior facade of this building is inspired by the orginal tree surrounding the waterwall beside the garden cafe. The hotel exterior facade stucture is enhanced by the characteristics of timber structure stuffed with coconut fibre as a planter medium, to allow for the growth of plants and creepers, creating a ‘green’ skin look. Although the ‘green’ skin is with no doubt unusual and attention-grabbing, it also ‘blends’ in with existing foliage without disrupting them and no doubt attracts users to the hotel. Due to the inherent nature of plants and their disparate growing pattern, the hotel will have a ‘dynamic’ skin. Not only does the ‘green’ facade present a fresh and appealing look to uplift the surrounding atmosphere, it also reduce the impact of direct sunlight and aids in filtering air.
