Current Activities We continue to provide recovery assistance to homeowners in Pamlico and Craven Counties; filling the immediate and unmet needs of homeowners still struggling to recover. Working closely with the Pamlico Long Term Recovery Group and case management, the team continues to find homeowners who have received little to no support. Nearly 10 months after Hurricane Florence hit, response work (mucking, gutting, and sanitizing homes) continues and we are also doing critical repairs and minor roof repairs. Our critical repair queue prioritizes the most vulnerable populations (elderly, disabled, children, low income, etc.) currently living in their homes. While not completing a total rebuild, our team works to provide a safe, sanitary and comfortable place to live.

Volunteer Voices “I went in to this on a whim, no summer plans, never done construction, never seen the ocean (or a wasp for that matter) and I came out of this having learned and gained more than I could have ever imagined. Thank you North Carolina program for all you have done for me, I am glad I could be of any help.”
