W
hen Jaime Van Ness met Dennis Soucy, she knew there was something special about him. They had found each other on Match.com and had shared enjoyable text and phone conversations. But once they were actually in the same room together, the chemistry was undeniable. “We connected immediately,” Jaime says, adding that they “fell in love pretty quickly.” Jaime, who has two children from a previous marriage, and Dennis, who has three, were careful to take things slow and establish their relationship before introducing the kids. “We’re very fortunate in that this has been a really positive situation,” says Jaime. “The kids all get along and were excited to be a part of the day.” The “day” she refers to was their wedding, held in June 2016, nearly four years after they met and a year after they were engaged (at Sandy Neck Beach on Cape Cod, where Soucy hid a diamond ring in a seashell box in the sand).
