Review the documentation about job descriptions Research into kiln location

Send to ted the weekly action plan

The Job roles are well defined but more goals and milestones could be introduced to increase productivity.

Meet with Rachael about evaluating the skills of the staff Obtain reports on bio char in Uganda and around the world

Organize meeting with Sanga Black about visiting his briquette production site.

Investigate into the current value of stored charcoal. How many kgs of briquettes can this produce Look into the Carbon Bureau

Contact students who have thesis work on kilns. These students are based in the UK and AUS and hopefully have research in related areas.

Read through biofuel articles and report extracts

Contact Gabriel regarding the weekly meeting

CWW document complete but perhaps not to the best standard. This is largely due to time constraints and lack of opportunities to individually meet and with each staff member. No contact from Herbert and he did not visit! Therefore no visit to the production site. The Carbon Bureau is offering a grant scheme based on a new carbon footprint scheme. Unfortunately Sanga Black has to reschedule his meeting as he is off to the USA at short notice.

Discuss research into alternative production methods and potential grant schemes

Ensure Ted is kept up to date with future plans

Very positive meeting with Gabriel and there is great potential to initiate a biogas and briquette production process from a substantial grant.

22/08 Weekly Action Plan A short summary of the scheduled events and activities that have been planned across the working week. Due to a busy and rather hectic last two weeks I have been unable to complete the usual log of scheduled activities.

Work completed this week: The primary focus of this week has been to prepare a tender proposal for using the services of Green Heat (U) Ltd. in utilising the waste products from Ugandan flower farms. Included in this tender is a summary of the kiln research undertaken with conceptual business models for an energy partnership between Green Heat, the Carbon Bureau and members of the Ugandan Flower Exporters Association. The work completed for this document has been based on previous research individually undertaken and communication with Vianney (CEO) regarding the application of biogas digester systems. Please refer to the draft report for further details.

29/08 Weekly Action Plan A short summary of the scheduled events and activities that have been planned across the working week. Due to a busy and rather hectic last two weeks I have been unable to complete the usual log of scheduled activities.

Work completed this week: This working week has been based around the application process for Access to Capital for Rural Enterprises. This application process has been given to us by Neil Fleming and contains a word document for the Company Profile and an excel document for the Enterprise Assessment Tool. The Company Profile has been expressed in such a way that any future investor/donor will be able to gain an overview of the enterprises undertaken and can clearly see the expansion capacity in the market. The Enterprise Assessment tools answers more company specific questions regarding the viability of returns for enterprise investment. The documents have been completed with online interviews to Vianney (who is currently in Poland for his wedding), and Gabriel. Green Heat has been very forthcoming with company documentation and this has been included in the application. Please refer to the file labeled ACIE Application for all supporting documentation.
