HOMEBUYER OUTREACH COORDINATOR Year‐Long Fellowship Description
Jericho Road Episcopal Housing Initiative, a neighborhood‐based non‐profit cultivating the revitalization of Central City neighborhoods in New Orleans, announces the opening of the Homebuyer Outreach Coordinator year‐long fellowship position. Sponsored by the National Coalition for the Homeless, this fellowship provides an opportunity to learn and contribute to Jericho Road’s important work providing affordable homeownership opportunities to low income working families. The Homebuyer Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining a pool of potential buyers for Jericho Road developed properties. The coordinator will work closely with both the listing agent and the non‐ profit counseling agencies to make referrals of potential clients and to track and monitor the progress of potential homebuyers throughout the pre‐purchase process. He or she would also be responsible for coordinating marketing and outreach activities. Additionally, the coordinator will be responsible for preparing associated compliance reports.
HOMEBUYER OUTREACH COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • • • • • • • • • •
Provides the highest degree of professionalism at all times and adheres to established guidelines regarding personal and financial confidentiality. Refers potential homebuyers to partner non‐profit counseling agencies. Maintains regular communication with partner counseling agencies, routinely monitors customer progress, and creates routine reports related to the status of potential homebuyers. Maintains all hard and electronic case files and safeguards the same per established security standards. Executes protocols and policies related to compliance with Fair Housing standards and best practices. Maintains compliance with all funding program requirements and regulations. Maintains client tracking systems, files, data collection and reporting. Archives inactive case files. Maintains and updates policies and procedures as necessary. Implements and improves upon housing programs to include, at minimum, educational/training programs, debt counseling, financial literacy, and others as needed to address the home owner needs of the community. Researches regulatory requirements, trends, developments, and recommend changes as appropriate.

Interacts effectively with individuals at all social and economic levels. Works independently and engages as a team player to accomplish goals and objectives. Demonstrates persistence in tracking and following‐up on details. Maintains flexibility, adaptability, and positive attitude in a constantly changing environment. Identifies internal weaknesses, troubleshoots problems, and proposes solutions that result in increased efficiency and production. Demonstrates a willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • • •
Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience. Demonstrates ability to work with clients on an individual basis in a coaching or counseling role. Demonstrates interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. • •

Demonstrates presentation skills with the ability to adjust style and pace to audience needs. Demonstrates working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Willingness to work some evenings and weekends and to maintain a flexible schedule as required by customer volume and customer convenience.

August – Beginning of September: First day with Jericho Road Summer 2013: End of fellowship commitment with Jericho Road.
