Styling Summer 2019

Styling can make or break a design. For as long as I can remember I have been keen on arrangements and positioning pieces to find the best possible angles to enhance a space. It is always astonishing to me how micro tweaks lend a macro effect to the finished product. Styling is the difference between a space that seems livable and one that appears imaginary. Last summer during my internship in Manhattan had the opportunity to assist with styling on photo shoots and loved every minute of it. Knowing that I was a part of something bigger than myself was a feeling I will never forget.

Office Project: SoulCycle Studio IV, Spring 2019

The concept for the SoulCycle office space is COMMUNITY. A community brings people together, makes people stronger and builds a more stable environment overall. Community will be reflected in the design of the space, as a more open space plan where collaboration spaces are loacted at all central areas. This concept also reflects the company’s ethos, as their main goal is to bring people together as a SoulCycle community.

10 OFFIC E PR OJE CT

A cafe and multiple lounge areas satisfy the goal to give the user many opportunitues to rejuvinate and socialize and the entrance, centered around public areas, tie back into the concept of community.

11 OFFIC E PR OJE CT

Through the use of textures, lighting, and color the goal of creating a stimulating and inspiring well work-place is fulfilled and group seating provides many opportunities to engage as a work community.

12 OFFIC E PR OJE CT

Live plants in the workplace give new life to the space and satify the goal to bring the outdoors inside, promoting overall well-being. A central “floating conference room symbolizes the concept of COMMUNITY at the heart of the company.

13 OFFIC E PR OJE CT

Lounge spaces adjacent to working areas fulfill the goal of allowing the user the opportunity to focus or collaborate easily. Collaboration areas in plain sight relate back to the concept of COMMUNITY.

Retail Project Studio IV, Spring 2019

The concept of “Skin Food” will be seen throughout the design of both the brand and the display. This display will be featured in a health foods based market where consumers prioritize nourishing their bodied with clean nutritious foods. These consumers expect no less from their cosmetic and skincare products. Skin Food refers to the nourishment that the featured clean beauty products will give the user’s skin. The design will reflect clean nutrition and skin food throughout the use of tactile textures and materials and soft lines and edges.

City Flat Project Graphics II, Spring 2018

For the design of a Tallahassee penthouse for a client that is a creative professional in the area, inspiration was taken from characteristics of the Whitney Museum in New York City. The Whitney is a prominent metal and glass structure with natural features that enhance the overall form of the architecture. These characteristics informed the aesthetic for the penthouse design in downtown Tallahassee. A muted and relaxing color scheme was chosen with luxurious textures such as supple leather and mohair velvet as an effortless accent. Overall, the design fulfills the needs of the client while remaining subtle and comfortable, yet high end and professional.

Charleston Residence Studio III, Fall 2018

For this “Age in Place” residence, the clients’ daily routine serves as an anchor for the design features implimented throughout the home. This space satisfies the need to be able to grow with the couple that lives within and never hinder everyday activities. The ease of an open living and dining room was a natural choice for the couple. Chairs with arms are utilized in the home which will be necessary as the couple ages and will not need to be relplaced as the years go on. As for the overall aesthetic of the space, airy colors will be accompanied by rich textures and play off of the concept of a contemporary farmhouse.

Kravet Design of Distinction Competition Geometric Medusa-Inspired Print Finalist, Spring 2019

K RA VE T D ESI G N

For this textile design, which was inspired by Medusa, inspiration was taken from the movement, repetition, and form shown through the snakes that slither around Medusa’s head. A pair of geometric snake-inspired designs, printed at a 5 inch by 5 inch repeat, transform organic symbols into a fluid pattern. Primal, bold colors highlighted by a solid neutral background emphasize the form of the serpentine figures.

3D Print Table Design Inspired by an Agate Sliver Furniture Design, Fall 2018

3 D PRIN T

The concept of an agate slice inspired my design for a three-dimensional table. I utilized elements and principles of design in order to take inspiration from a natural object and turn that into a functional piece. Thinking about how nature relaxes us, I took the form and shapes found in agate slices to inspire the overall shape for the table top. The round tapered repetitive pattern inside an agate evokes a sense of tranquility and relaxation that was translated to the design. Repetition is also seen in the table’s details creating an engraved design on the top of the table.

Construction Documents Computer-Aided Design, Spring 2018

Included are a selection of construction documents completed in the Spring of 2018 using AutoCAD and Revit. An office building was completed in Revit and features exterior building details as well as an interior restroom detail and custom reception desk millwork detail. Work selected from AutoCAD includes a historic university building entrance drawing and chair details from the barcelona chair. These projects allowed me to utilize my technical computer-aided design skills in a range of contrasting usages.

Sketchbook Work Pen & Watercolor on Paper Study Abroad, Summer 2018

During my time in Europe, I carried around a sketchbook to draw and paint when I felt inspired by my experiences or surroundings. It has always been a passion of mine to sketch in my own perspective and see my travels in a new light. From events in Florence such as Pitti Uomo (men’s fashion week) to simple everyday passings like the details of the Parisian metro entrances, visual stimulation was never far away. This sketchbook will always be a prized possession of mine and I will cherish the experiences that I was humbled to have been able to enjoy.
