AlgaeControl.US Specifications SS 400 For Medium Sized Bodies of Water up to 2 acres Sonic Solutions SS 400 Irrigation and recycled water systems typically have nutrients that provide a good culture medium for algae and fungi. Many of these systems use ultra-violet light systems (UV disinfection) to destroy all kinds of bacteria and fungi. However, the presence of algae in quantity, that are not killed by the UV treatment, reduces the water transparency and thus hinders the UV light penetration and its effectiveness. The SS 400, however sees to it that the algae are killed and drift away or can be removed easily so that the water stays clear and the intended disinfection takes place. Moreover, the power consumption of the of the UV high-pressure lamps can be reduced drastically due to the improved water clarity, thus saving power costs while optimizing UV disinfection capacity. The SS 400 sonic head comes with a float and a holding brace that passes an connecting point through the float where a stainless steel shackle will connect the two pieces. The float can be tethered by rope to hold it in place or has slots where stakes can be driven to hold it in position with freedom to float up and down with the pond level. The SS 400 can be used for horticulture or or home pond applications. It will improve the water for irrigation, sprinkling, spraying etc., where algae might cause clogging in parts of the installation.
