Pioneer Stadium

Alfred State began a new era on Sept. 6, 2008, when the first on-campus football game was played. The field turf facility features lights, seating for 1,500 fans, and a fully functioning press box. In the summer of 2009, the facility was named Pioneer Stadium and permanent restrooms, concessions, and storage areas were built. The facility is also home to Pioneer soccer, track & field, and lacrosse. It has already hosted the Region III Outdoor Track & Field Championships (2008), the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship (2009, 2011, & 2012 ), and various high school sectional championships. In 2013, Alfred State will again host the Region III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. With the building of Pioneer Stadium, the tradition of Homecoming returned to campus. Homecoming 2012 is slated for October 12-14 and features athletic events, social events, and Alfred’s Got Talent.
