The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care - childcare course is for those wishing to work with children in a childcare centre or similar environment. Childcare workers (called Educators) conduct activities using play based learning while providing care to ensure the health and well-being of each child. Depending on the setting, workers may work under direct supervision or autonomously. A heavy emphasis is placed on ensuring carers understand the systems and strategies used to ensure the safety of children under their care. This course includes the units ‘Provide care for babies’ and ‘Provide care for children’ meaning graduates can work with any age group in the child care environment.
