May Newsletter Hello Key Clubbers,

In this issue!

I am so grateful and ecstatic to be able to serve all of you as the Lieutenant Governor of Division 39 North. First off, you should know that I am very outgoing and enthusiastic about serving people in need. Traveling to new places and baseball are two of my all-time favorite things. I am actively involved in National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Model United Nations in addition to my home Key Club of Colleyville Heritage High School. My hope is that over the next year, clubbers from all eleven schools(almost twelve!) will work together to make the greatest impact they can in their homes, schools, and communities through service. In the past, Key Clubs have worked independently of one another. I believe one of the great things about Key Club that sets it apart from other high school clubs is the networking! There is an amazing family of students in our own community that share a common love for service. Division 39N Key Clubbers will join together through service projects, inter-clubs, district events and socials. I look forward to meeting as many members as possible. I am available any time of the day; rain or shine; morning or night. If you have a question or just want to talk, I would love to speak to you. I’m ready for a year full of service and fun and would love if you would join me!

Let me know when your next meeting or service event is and I might be able to attend and feature you in the newsletter too!

DCON Recap

Important Reminders District Convention, shortened to DCON, was held in Downtown Dallas from April 14th-18th,2011 with thousands of Key Clubbers from all over the Texas and Oklahoma District. For those attending it is a great time to come together, share accomplishments for the year, and to get pumped for the next year of service. Not only is DCON all about service, but it is also about bonding with your fellow Key Clubbers through fun activities such as the talent show, the alwayspopular Governor’s Ball, and the Awards Banquet, featuring Key Note Speaker Cory Johnson who gave an eye-opening speech entitled, “I’m Not Drunk, I’m Disabled.” DCON also has forums, which are a great way to better learn about Key Club and your duties as a club officer and member. The forums aren’t all formal though- if you attended the Public Speaking and Leadership forum you could have won a mustache(fake of course!). Most importantly clubs elect the new District Staff positions of Governor, Secretary, Treasurer, and Editor(see page 4 to see your new elected Board!)

Hope to see you there next April!
