Wishing You a
Wishing you a very Happy Easter from the Queen Bee!
Hello and welcome to my column about beauty, health and wellbeing
Easter is just around the corner, so instead of eating lots of chocolate, why not be kind to your body and treat yourself to a pamper session instead? Most salons do Gift Vouchers, so maybe treat your loved ones to a relaxing treatment.
My signature treatment – Pure Heaven Soother – is perfect for an Easter gift! 30 minutes of delicious neck, shoulder, face and head massage using aromatic essential oils… just £35.00. Much better than an Easter egg!! Well… almost!!
Hopefully, that golden light in the sky has made an appearance by now, and your skin may need a little buffing and moisturising before it is exposed again. I swear by a light application of fake tan to your face and body to make you feel a bit more body confident. It works wonders!
If you read my column each month, you will know that I do lots of waxing in the salon. Regular waxing every 4 – 6 weeks, can really reduce the amount that hair grows, and with the right therapist, can be a comfortable treatment. If you want to experience the world of waxing for the first time, please do your research and look at the salon/therapist reviews. This is so important as a bad experience could put you off for
22 | ehl April 2020 life!! Do not go for the cheapest Groupon offer. If they can’t fill their columns, ask yourself why. This obviously applies to intimate waxing too (Hollywoods & Brazilians). Make sure you ask for ‘Hot wax, hard wax or non Strip wax’ to be used on this delicate area; sticky warm strip wax can be very uncomfortable!! If you are not sure where to go for your first time, I will always be happy to help. Farnham isn’t that far away.
So now you are buffed, moisturised, waxed and tanned, you are ready for anything that April throws at you! Whether you are heading for the sunshine for the Easter break or just chilling at home, a little self care always makes us feel better. Maybe head for a local spa for a day of pampering? We are lucky to have plenty of 5 star spas around here – Pennyhill Park, in Bagshot, (you can often spot a few England rugby players in the outdoor spa!), the Four Seasons Hotel in Dogmersfield, Nirvana Spa in Wokingham. I love Fredricks Hotel & Spa in Maidenhead because it’s small and personal. Most spa days will include a treatment of some sort. I highly recommend hot stone massage if they do it, or a luxurious facial. Hot stone massage is literally a massage using hot stones in the therapist’s hands. The heat of the stones relaxes the muscles much more deeply than just the hands. They say a stroke with a hot stone is worth 10 of the hand! If you ever have the chance to experience a hot stone treatment, do it!
Enjoy your Easter and see you next month. Carol x
