ALEXANDRA RUBIN

EDUCATION
AFTER HIGH SCHOOL, I SPENT A YEAR AT UCF BEFORE MOVING TO LOS ANGELES, WHERE I WORKED IN THE ENTERTAINMENT AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRIES FOR A DECADE IMMERSED IN FAST-PACED, CREATIVE ENVIRONMENTS. IN 2021, I RETURNED TO SCHOOL TO PURSUE MY PASSION FOR DESIGN, EARNING A BFA IN INTERIOR DESIGN FROM SCAD. MY JOURNEY HAS GIVEN ME A UNIQUE PERSPECTIVE, BLENDING STORYTELLING, FUNCTIONALITY, AND EMOTION TO CREATE SPACES THAT ARE BOTH THOUGHTFUL AND IMPACTFUL

WORKEXPERIENCE
MY DIVERSE WORK EXPERIENCE SPANS SEVERAL INDUSTRIES, INCLUDING ENTERTAINMENT, HOSPITALITY, AND INTERIOR DESIGN. I VE HONED MY ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND ENHANCE CLIENT EXPERIENCES, FIRST THROUGH MY ROLES IN HIGH-PACED ENVIRONMENTS IN LOS ANGELES AND NEW YORK, AND LATER THROUGH MY DESIGN WORK AT SCAD AND OTHER INDEPENDENT PROJECTS. FROM COLLABORATING WITH CLIENTS ON RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL CONCEPTS TO SOURCING MATERIALS AND MANAGING CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS, MY EXPERIENCES HAVE SHAPED MY ADAPTABLE, DETAIL-ORIENTED APPROACH TO DESIGN I’M EXCITED TO BRING THIS MULTIFACETED BACKGROUND TO EVERY PROJECT I TAKE ON.

As cinema experiences evolve, the goal of this project is to explore how design can reimagine theaters to entice users back to physical spaces in a world where digital streaming services dominate. The project seeks to transform traditional theaters into comfortable and engaging environments that offer an alternative to at-home viewing.
Project Vision: to create a theater that transcends the ordinary moviegoing experience, blending elements of comfort, safety, and social interaction to make every visit a cinematic journey.
Objectives:
1 Enhance Comfort
2. Prioritize Safety
3. Foster Social Interaction
4. Personalize Experiences

SerenityWithinSolitude
Serenity in Solitude is a spa concept focused on privacy and personal escape. A warm color palette of earth tones and natural textures creates a calming atmosphere, while strategic partitions foster a sense of seclusion. The design offers a tranquil retreat, allowing guests to disconnect and fully unwind in a space that promotes relaxation and inner peace.
