Artwork from four local-area students were selected among hundreds of art submissions from children throughout Southern California to be feature in the annual Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s annual Water is Life Art Contest. “Western believes in educating our youth and inspiring them to study water. Water truly is life,” shares Craig Miller, Western Municipal Water District General Manager. “The Water is Life Art Contest is an opportunity for students to take water education science concepts and apply them to another area of study, such as art. These students are creating a visual image of how they perceive water. This image creates a powerful message about our water resources to both the students who create them, as well as those who appreciate their artwork.” Each year, Western Municipal Water District along with their member agencies including the City of Corona Department of Water and Power and Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District submit art entries from students in their area for the opportunity to be featured in the well-recognized calendar. This year’s celebration will feature an art exhibit with all winning art pieces, a student recognition ceremony and presentation.
