All it took was two guys with passion and a unique sound to form the well known band, Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker. The band has encountered huge success in only a few years of recording music. USS is taking the world by storm and it seems as though it only took one day for the boys to become famous. The members of the band include: Ashley Buchholz (Ash Boo-Schultz) and Jason Parsons (Human Kebab). Both are from towns surrounding the GTA; they come from Markham and Stouffville, Ontario. Ash and Kebab met while reorganizing a fridge at a golf course where they both worked. From the beginning USS had something no other band had to offer. The thing that sets USS apart from other bands is their unique sound. It is difficult to classify this band into one genre because they can fall into a few different categories. Most people say they are drum and bass, while others say electronic. The band members themselves don’t even think they have a specific style or genre. Also, the fact that they are a duo makes them more diverse in the industry because it makes them more distinctive. Not many bands today have a similar sound to USS; that’s why they stand out. USS’s sound seems to be their advantage over other bands because it is getting them so much recognition by radio stations all around Canada and the United States. One local radio station that picked them up right away was 102.1 The Edge. They were one of the first stations to play their songs. Whether it was their first single, Hollow Point Sniper Hyperbole, or their latest single, Damini, The Edge has supported them all the way. In 2008, USS took the main stage at the annual Edgefest. From then on, more people began to acknowledge them and listen to their music. All the hype surrounding them reached the United States. USS travelled to Los Angeles and New York to promote their music and give their fans what they want to hear. From when they formed the band in 2006 to now, USS has had many successful EPs and one album. In 2008, they released their first EP titled Welding The C:/, which included their single Hollow Point Sniper Hyperbole and 2 15/16. In 2009, USS came out with their first full length album called Questamation. The bulk of their hits came from their second album titled Approved. This album includes the songs Yo Hello Hooray (Everyday) and N/A Ok. It’s no surprise that USS is taking over music! Their music has made a huge impact on the iTunes Alternative Music Chart with Questamation reaching #12. They have won an award for Best New Artist and Favourite New Single at The Edge presents the CASBY Awards. They even had three tours in Canada that did very well. What’s next for Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker? Currently, it is said that they are working on new music. As far as touring goes, USS will be playing more Canadian shows and promoting their music this summer. With all the buzz that surrounded them at the start of their career, there is no question that they will have continued success in the future. If they keep going at the rate they are now, this is not the last time people will hear the name Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker.
