MAMM Museum of Modern Art Renovation Barranquilla City Veterans Sports Complex Improvement of Neighborhoods
The latest academic project was the new building of the Museum of Modern Art of Medelllin City. In this case we were supposed to reuse an old building that used to be a factory and had been declared architectural heritage of the city.

The city had been trying to approach to the river through many projects, and this lot meant an important join to ensure ecological connectivity and continuity of public spaces between the east and west of the city.

The center of the city of Barranquilla used to be a chaos, with problems of mobility, public spaces, sanitary services and important social conflicts. Then the city decided to open a public contest to find a renovation project of the historic center and that approaches the city to the Magdalena River, making it an important natural, environmental and recreational space.
Boosting and strengthening the port as the main economic activity of the city with new technology, new architecture and space connections with the rest of the city. Implement a network of public spaces that includes 4 plazas and a boulevard, pretending with this action the restructuration and appropriation of the center linking this to the river.
Proposed Public Space: Both the boulevard and the four squares, regardless of their particular design, should be equipped with mirrors of water that cool the air, trees and furnishings that offer shade. Palms Boulevard: responsible for directing the city towards the center and the river, San JosĂŠ Park: main park of the city, attached to the Palms Boulevard. San NicolĂĄs Square: historical heritage to be restored and with commercial use. San Roque Square: adaptation to host the mobilizations, meetings, parties and other events of and for the population. Hospital Park: it will be a park oriented to solve and to satisfy the leisure and recreational needs of the childhood
This building should be emblematic for a community that was being socially transformed and needed its young people to spend their free time in healthy and recreational activities.
This was a integral improvement project . The Mayoralty of Medellin City considered the need of work in a pilot to demonstrate the efficiency of making housing improvement at the same time in the same block, while they were legalizing the land tenure and making all the public works that were necessary to get an healthy, secure, and adequate environment in that area. This occurred in a illegal human settlement
The project consisted in the elaboration of a physical and spatial diagnosis of the block, then formulating a model that involved a rework of the building structure, a variation in the sections of the four tracks and the formulation of a specific regulation for the use of The lots
The project called "Manzana Piloto de Mejoramiento Integral" was carried out as an urban planning project for the Administrative Department of Planning of the city of MedellĂn. It was carried out in the La Cruz neighborhood, where a block was taken within a project of Urbanization Regularization.
