Module Assignment 1.2, Go-Card, Group work with D. Dome The second project was for Go-Card - a company specialized in guerrilla marketing of events and brands in the form of post cards with alternative vision and provocative graphical concepts. As the Christmas holidays were nearing, it was the natural decision to create a greeting card in that mood. But the intent was the design concept to be different from the so clichĂŠd graphical representation of the most popular holiday. So the pop-art concept was formed to highlight the Christmas symbols in an alternative and interesting way.

Module Assignment 1.3, Design Against Fur, Group work with Ana Stroe, Kristina Peeva The third project was very important to me and was a chance to express an attitude against the animal abuse. The task was provided by the Fur Free Alliance - an international organisation fighting the cruel fur farming all over the world. Although group’s awareness of the problem, the concept proved to be very difficult because of the large number of such campaigns with lots of great ideas. Also the minor public knowledge of the case had to be considered along with keeping the design in bearable levels of brutality so the sensitive target group of fur buyers won’t be scared away from the campaign. The whole stage and the “spectator” cages alongside were created in 3D and further developed in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. The brands logos on the wall are related to an article by Lucie Greene for The Financial Times about the 2010’s fashion brands which presented fur in their collections.

Infolink Kurser

Infolink Kurser provides entrepreneur courses in cooperation with a list of organizations. Their prior marketing plan was mainly focusing on WHERE the courses should be promoted, not HOW. We researched the communication situation - how could the marketing reflect the company, so they address the target group in the right way. We found the answer among the customers. The people participating in the courses were mainly

driven by their dreams and the possibility to learn more about starting a business.

Module Assignment 1.4, Funkybeat, Individual work The fourth project was the most complex of all. Funkybeat is a fledging small-business company in the field of advertising and communications and they needed a refresh of their online magazine which has to communicate a more clear and appealing message to their clients. A profound research of the company’s symbols and values had to be made in order to correctly present their business with an exciting new design concept. The new online magazine is consisted of 18 A5 facing pages with interesting layout, colours and typography.

“Funkybeat has showed us into the future, where external communication is not only advertisement, but also attentive.” CEO Inge Leth, Avnskodt IT

The marketing of Infolink Kurser should represent dreams and knowledge. We wanted to give the target group the idea of the Infolink Kurser as a dynamic company, which follows the development and trends. We wanted the communication to be vibrant, interactive and educational.

An Eye for Sound Module Assignment 2.1, An Eye for Sound, group work with Josefine Stresewski

A new way of inspiration trough music

“Art is created for the sake of the artist. There are mechanisms that mean that art is recorded, printed, published, exhibited and sold. But regardless of whether art from pictures and books to music and theatre - is spread and multiplied and seen by many or few people and that the size of the audience is often seen as a greater or lesser success criterion, it is the artist's relationship with his or her materials that is the most important thing. Art is an investigation. Of form, material, myths, traditions, consciousness, thoughts.” Torben Weirup, Berlingske Tidende

www.eye4soundproject.org

The starting task in the Second semester at Design & Technology was to develop a multimedia concept for Viggo Steinke’s project “An Eye for Sound”. The project lasted for 5 weeks and involved 3 different painters who had to create art under the influence of a musical piece composed by Mr Steinke. At the end of it, our task was to find relevant ways of promoting the project to the target group specified by our research. The concept developed is consisted of 4 stages – promotions in the form of brochures and posters; web-based viral marketing campaign; and conceptual development of web-platform with community and different tools allowing the users to perceive, create and share art.

Module Assignment 2.2, Center for Applied knowledge of Energy and Environment, Individual work The second assignment was about creating visual identity concept for an organisation developing a platform for sharing knowledge, technologies and experience in the field of alternative energy and environmental care. CAKE2 website is under UCN’s domain and common elements had to be used in the design process. The products developed are logo with guidelines for different usage scenarios, a business card and a document template.

Module Assignment 2.3,Trend research, Individual work The 2.3 assignment at UCN was about making trend research and developing a typographic poster to be used in the creation of future magazine and corresponding to a selected trend. The theme is technology and three-dimensional typography is used for creating a stylized image of a city out of the rendering of the sentence “You are living in a world of technology”. The general cubic look and plain colours are used to represent complexity created with simple elements - just like in every electronic device. The logo of one of the biggest tech-blogs is used to add marketing value to the image. “Cubic”, copyright Svetoslav Simov, FontFabric

A GEEK’S GUIDE TO BEING A GEEK IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY Electronics and Information Technology. The silent revolution that changed our lives and the way we communicate and perceive the world around us. For the post 90’s generation it’s almost impossible to imagine our world without computers, smart phones and the Internet. But I was lucky enough to see the revolution with my own eyes and believe me – it is the greatest thing ever. Back in the 80’s and early 90’s the computers were bulky and slow, the mobile phones looked and weighted like bricks, and the Internet was a privilege few had. In general – being a geek in those days was like being an astronaut.

Module Assignment 2.4, Magazine, Group work with Lilli Ambova, Christopher Whelam, Josefine Stresewski and Kristina Serovante The fourth assignment in the second semester was the most complex one not only because of the big amount of research done, but also because of the group work requiring all the members to follow certain guidelines and rules for keeping the whole magazine’s layout and grid in the same style. Continuing the trend research methods from the previous assignment a deeper investigation of the trend was done along with real-life interviews of people involved. The page design is made to correspond with the high-tech audience of the article but follows the defined guidelines and rules. When all the articles were put together, we started developing the covers and contents page using elements and colors from the articles creating a seamless design and easy understandable color-code.
