He captures that stoner stay-at-home life so accurately that I actually find his comics really depressing and thank God I don’t ever have to hang out with anybody like that ever again.—Daniel Clowes The story picks up at the end of Megahex: Owl, fed up with the depraved environment around him, takes off, leaving Megg & Mogg stranded and in dare need of a new roommate. "Luckily," our favorite FILF Werewolf Jones moves in.
Whereas Owl was a responsible man of habit with a steady paycheck, the household is now left solely to the hands of three chronically unemployed and mentally unstable drug addicts. Next month rent is coming up: now what? At the welfare review meeting Booger, Megg’s repressed lesbian crash from the past, makes a comeback leading Megg to question once again her feelings for Mogg. Is their relationship true love or just a toxic, paralyzing co-dependency? If this wasn’t enough, Megg receives a mysterious call from her junkie mother which sparkles a whole trip into memory lane, both physically and mentally. Hanselmann's most profound book to date, Bad Gateway will make you laugh and, at the same time, question the point of being alive.
